                                                           The Murder
Our website is updated on a daily basis. We're regularly working on new leads as well as deep diving information we already have, so information may change as more truths are uncovered. We've only scratched the surface of this case, there's still so much more to discover.

Excerpts from Gypsy Rose Blanchard's 2024, 'memoir', 'My Time To Stand', are  interspersed throughout the website, to illustrate and reinforce that a false narrative continues to be promoted.
WARNING The content on this page contains some graphic images and descriptions of extreme violence which some adults may find distressing. This material is not suitable for children and reader discretion is strongly advised.

In 2017, Dr Phil asked Gypsy, "Tell me in your own words what happened that night?" Gypsy answers, "My mother and I had got into an argument two days before (the murder), and it was about my feeding tube. Like, 'I no longer need this feeding tube, can we please have it removed?' And she said, 'No'." (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
On Monday 8th June 2015, two days before Dee Dee's murder, Gypsy messages Nick, (3.04pm) Gypsy - 'Darling I’m going to go to the ER to get my tube changed ll b off my phone for a few hours'. (9.26pm) Gypsy - 'Darling I’m home'. (9.27pm) Gypsy - 'It was a 6 hour wait in the er'. (9.30pm) Gypsy - 'At least it’s done so wer good for a yr'. (9
.30pm) Gypsy - 'It can be done even by me But I won't unless I have to'.
That doesn't sound like someone who is desperate to get their feeding tube permanently removed, not within the next 12 months at least.

Gypsy continues, "And I had an upcoming surgery and I didn't want to have it, so I asked her, 'Please. Tell the doctor I don't need this surgery. I've had it 20 times before. Why do we have to have it again?' And she's like, 'There's nothing I can do about it. The doctor wants it' ". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
There are no pre-op assessment appointments recorded in Gypsy's medical records to substantiate that she had an upcoming surgery just prior to Dee Dee's death.
There is nothing recorded in Gypsy's medical records leading up to, and including, 2015, to suggest a surgery of any kind was imminent.
Gypsy refers to this surgery (surgery to address her 'squeaky voice') as only Gypsy would - "my mother tried to cut my throat". (See image below).
On 11th April 2009, Gypsy underwent a 5 minute laryngoscopy, performed under mild anaesthetic, due to a vocal chord weakness having been identified; the condition was found to be mild and insignificant, and there's no evidence of any further procedures relating to Gypsy's vocal chords. (Source: The Good Wives' Network)
One procedure.
Not 20.
And as for Gypsy's claim that the surgery was 'upcoming'; it doesn't appear to be 'upcoming' in the month of June, as we're pretty sure Dee Dee would have recorded it on her wall calendar, as seen, and marked by its absence, on the right.

On the day Nick is due to catch his greyhound bus to Springfield to murder Dee Dee, Gypsy messages him to say that Dee Dee has made her sleep outside, (Monday 8th June, 2015, 4.11am) Gypsy - 'I was made to sleep on the front porch with BUGS'. At 4.12am, Gypsy messages Nick again, 'I peed in the bushes ... It's been rough'.
And how did that work exactly? Did Dee Dee just roll Gypsy out onto the front porch in full view of the neighbourhood and dump her there?
Gypsy had told Nick just over a week earlier, during a conversation that had nothing to do with bugs; (27th May 2015) Gypsy - 'btw I'm afraid of bugs just so you know'.
Nick had reassured Gypsy that there was nothing to be scared of, and Gypsy had responded 'I'm just letting u know my phobia it's bugs and spiders'.
Nick had then informed Gypsy what he feared, (11.18pm) 'your freak outs'.
The Gypsy train created a false narrative of what life was like for Gypsy living with Dee Dee, but imagine for a second, now you know Gypsy and Dee Dee a little better, what life must have been like for Dee Dee living with Gypsy.

God awful by the sounds of it.

Gypsy telling Nick, hours before he is due to catch his bus to Springfield to murder Dee Dee, that she has been thrown out of her home and is sleeping outside 'with BUGS' seems calculated, as if to quash any reservations Nick may have had and to bolster the urgency of the need to 'rescue' her.
It worked.
A supplementary police report made following Nick's police interview, records, "Gypsy had been kicked out of her mother's home and he (Nick) was worried sick about her, because she was wandering the streets". (Detective Angela Maholy, Supplementary report, 9th July, 2015.
Nick told the detective interviewing him that 'homeless' Gypsy must have been able to locate a free wi-fi spot, as she was able to reply to his texts.

There is no evidence to support Gypsy's claims of eviction, but maybe Dee Dee actually had had enough of the 23 year old shrew that couldn't be tamed.
If Dee Dee did pack Gypsy's bags, then Gypsy was free to fly wherever her heart desired.
She had access to cash. She had a free bus pass to take her to the greyhound bus station. She had a pair of legs that worked.
And where did Gypsy fly?
To a bush.
To urinate.
And to wait for Nick to come and kill Dee Dee.

(Excerpt below) In Gypsy's absurd December, 2024, 'memoir', she now says that the decision to kill Dee Dee happened in May, 2015, a result of Dee Dee being about to force her to have surgery on her larynx, to address her 'squeaky voice'. Apologies, but we call absolute bullshit on that. There is no mention of any medical appointments relating to this kind of surgery in any of Gypsy's medical records, and it's a type of surgery she has never recalled before. We think even die-hard Gypsy fans, who must be aware that Gypsy has always said the decision came about after her March, 2015 cinema visit with Nick - and even that is untrue -  are going to struggle with this obvious untruth. (Source: 'My Time To Stand' and mug everybody off).
Images below - Gypsy's 'letter' she wrote to Dee Dee, allegedly in 2018 when she was incarcerated, taken from her nauseous book, "Conversations On The Eve Of Freedom' (or, 'Melissa Moore sniffing around for a pay check'), released at the beginning of 2024.

On Monday 8th June 2015, Nick left his home in Big Bend, Wisconsin, to catch a greyhound bus to Dee Dee and Gypsy's home in Springfield.
Nick's stepfather, Charles Goldhammer, reported that Nick hadn't told them in advance about his trip, instead leaving them a note on his bed to say he had gone to collect Gypsy.
News of Gypsy's imminent arrival had come as a complete surprise to Nick's mother and her husband.

Nick's greyhound bus left Wisconsin at around 3.30pm.
Whilst Nick was waiting in Wisconsin to board his bus, Gypsy messaged him, (1.45pm) Gypsy - 'Making up a song %on the road to Destiny, la la la %'.

Gypsy had once again stolen money from Dee Dee to finance Nick's journey and hotel stay, which she had posted off to him. Nick had then purchased his return bus ticket in advance, and had held onto the rest of the money for his other expenses.
Dee Dee effectively financed her own assassination.
In 2007, Gypsy says, "I managed to scrape up enough money to pay for him (Nick) a ticket". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Not true. Gypsy did what Gypsy always did when she needed money, she stole it from Dee Dee.

Nick and Gypsy messaged each other almost continually throughout Nick's journey. A transcript of the messages we know about can be seen here

Nick arrived in Springfield on Tuesday 9th June, 2015 at 5.36am.
Later that evening Nick received a Facebook message from his friend who he refers to as, 'Sis'.
Sis asked Nick, 'hey bro how are you'. Nick advised her that he was okay and was on his way to get Gypsy.
Nick was also messaging Gypsy during his chat with Sis, jumping back and forth between the two conversations.
Nick sometimes relayed information to Gypsy in the third person, as Victor, but talked to Sis as himself, Nick.

At 8.46pm, Sis asked Nick, 'are you home right now'. Before answering her question, Nick asked Gypsy if Dee Dee's bedroom floor squeaks, saying, 'he (Victor) wants to know.' Nick then responded to Sis telling her that he was in a hotel in Springfield and would be getting Gypsy early the next morning.
At 8.48pm, Sis asked Nick, 'Is her mom cool with everything at this point?' Almost simultaneously, Gypsy messaged Nick that Dee Dee's room was carpeted, and asked him to tell Victor, (8.51pm) Gypsy - 'my private parts are shaved'.

At 8.52pm, Nick told Gypsy that he (Victor) was excited by what he was going to do (murder Dee Dee), and wanted to know if Gypsy had also shaved below her private parts.
At 8.53pm, Nick let Sis know that, no, things weren't cool with Dee Dee, telling her that he thought Dee Dee and Gypsy argued daily and that their relationship was broken. He said that Gypsy was at her house packing.

At 8.53pm, Sis asked Nick how Gypsy planned to leave the house, suggesting that Sis was not aware that Nick was in Springfield to murder Dee Dee, rather, Gypsy was 'running away' with Nick.
At 8.54pm, Gypsy told Nick that she would shave her legs after he arrived at her house.
At 8.55pm, Nick told Gypsy not to be afraid when she heard 'Victor' speak as he sounds evil.
At 8.56pm, Nick told Sis that, as she already knew Gypsy could walk, she would either walk out or sneak out.

Gypsy then let Nick know she was going to get something to eat, and Nick told Sis he was prepared to 'get involved' if the plan went wrong.
The chat between Nick and Sis then petered out, and Nick and Gypsy continued to discuss their plan relating to role play and their alter egos, Ruby and Victor.

Part of Nick and Gypsy's plan following Dee Dee's murder, was for Victor to rape Ruby.
Gypsy would later claim that this role play rape, was actual rape, but there is nothing to suggest at that point that Gypsy was doing anything other than throwing herself whole heartedly in preparing herself for her role.
12 minutes before Nick called a taxi to take him to Dee Dee's house, Gypsy messaged him and asked, (
1.29am) Gypsy - 'Will he (Victor) allow me to wet his .. your penis before he takes me hun? I don’t know if he’s gonna do anal or vag I was hoping to do anal'.

Dr Phil confronted Gypsy about some of the messages she exchanged with Nick, "At any point during this time did you look at this and say, this, this is beyond weird here. I'm talking to a guy that's talking about himself in the third person, the third person's a 500 year old vampire and he's glad that my mother's a light sleeper so she'll be awake when he's hacking her to death. I mean even though at the time you felt like you wanted her dead, did you think, 'this is beyond strange'?" Gypsy responded, "To be honest I didn't even think it was real because we had been talking about it for so long that I became numb to the idea like, 'Oh okay, we're just having another conversation about it. We're not actually taking the steps to planning this and this is going to happen' ". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
On Friday 29th May, 2015 at
9.44pm, Gypsy messaged Nick, "Darling can u please meet me online we need to talk about our plan".
Gypsy instigating discussions about her plan to kill her mother is a step towards planning the crime.

Gypsy shaving her private parts while her intended mother's murderer is on a greyhound bus hurtling towards her with a ticket she sent the money to pay for, is a sign that it's going to happen.
Googling, 'How to remove the smell of a dead body', which is what Gypsy did on June 7th 2015, is a giant step towards planning the crime and a sign that said murder is going to happen.

But before we go forwards, we need to first briefly go back.

On Saturday 6th June, 2015, 4 days before Dee Dee's murder, Gypsy sent Nick a flurry of messages, (2.57pm) Gypsy - 'Hunny I was wondering, say I wanted to have sex with a guy before leaving town.could I?' (2.58pm) Gypsy - 'It’s just curious question lol' (3.06pm) Gypsy - 'Ok so I know your territorial but I’m being tempted … sexually' (3.09pm) Gypsy - 'Darling can we talk online please' (3.56pm) Gypsy - 'I’m guessing your naping' (4.46pm) Gypsy - 'I thought u wasn’t getting my texts hun' (4.49pm) Nick - 'I was I didn’t hear them tho Dear since my phone was on Vibrate.' (5.47pm) Gypsy - 'He agreed to meet up, we are gonna get coffee at this cupcake place Thursday so that will close that' (5.48pm) Gypsy - 'It’s a public place so all good hun' (5.49pm) Nick - 'Dear I told I’ll be around in the area of it to make sure he don’t do anything and you have to accept that.' (6.00pm) Gypsy) - 'Ok Darling' (6.03pm) Gypsy - 'What time does our bus leave Thursday hun?' (6.04pm) Nick - '6.13pm Dear'.

Gypsy's 'request' to Nick was placed at 2.57pm. She had not sent him a text message since 9.56pm the previous day.
There's an almost hour long gap between Nick's response (4.49pm) to Gypsy's request, and Gypsy telling Nick at 5.47pm that she's set up the sexual rendezvous, which, we might add, is unbelievably scheduled for the the day after her mother is murdered.
It's fair to suggest that Gypsy and the 'cupcake man' had been having a good old chin-wag on Saturday 6th June, 2015.
It was revealed in a 2025 official court record obtained through a FOIA request, that the man Gypsy planned to meet up with was none other than Dan Glidewell. (Source: Into The Weeds Podcast).

Why is Nick hunky-dory about Gypsy having sex with another man, his only concern being that he would have to be around to make sure she was safe?
And where were Gypsy and Dan planning to have sex, back at the hotel, with Nick close by?
Dan claims he declined Gypsy's invitation.
Did he though?
Nick's seat on the greyhound bus back to Wisconsin was pre-booked. Gypsy's wasn't. Why?
Any plan to escape after a murder would surely include your means of  flight.
In Gypsy's alter ego 'Ruby' video to Nick, 'Ruby' told Nick she was, "
very good at planning things", so why didn't she plan her escape?
Why wasn't Gypsy's ticket to Wisconsin booked?
When Gypsy asked Nick what time 'our' bus goes back, a bus she doesn't have a ticket for, it arguably links to the arrangement she has made with Dan, because that's what her and Nick had been discussing.
Could Gypsy have been planning to double-cross Nick and flee with Dan? It certainly sounds like a real possibility.
It's not that far-fetched a theory; Nick kills Dee Dee. Gypsy abandons Nick and is taken to, perhaps, Arkansas, by Dan. Nick is presumed to not only have killed Dee Dee, but the missing Gypsy too.
Gypsy would then safe from Dee Dee's intervention, with all of Dee Dee's savings, secure in the knowledge that Nick, whose ultimate motive was to free her from her life of abuse, would never betray her.
There'd be no Dee Dee to hunt Gypsy down.
It's not what happened, but then, 'The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry'.

Once Nick was at the hotel in Springfield, there was another flurry of messages between Nick and Gypsy after Nick voiced concerns that he was low on funds and didn't think he had enough money to pay for another night at the hotel.
'Low on funds' equalled just under $200.
Nick had already told Gypsy he had paid $140 for his first night at the hotel, which included a $50 safety deposit, so he had more than enough money left to pay for another night at the hotel, as well as for his taxi fare to Gypsy's house, which Gypsy told him would be $10.

But instead of reassuring Nick he had enough funds, Gypsy appeared to use the opportunity to bring the murder forward. (6.55am) Gypsy - 'Unless you wanna do it tonight like the late part of the night'. (6.55am) Gypsy - '?' (6.56am) Gypsy - 'It would have to b'. (6.57am) Gypsy - 'It's the only way to get u money and everything go like we planned'.
Nick responded that it was down to how soon Gypsy wanted to see him, and she responded, (7.00am) Gypsy - 'Tonight hun'. At
7.03am Gypsy told Nick, - 'I will text you we are doing this tonight hun it won’t be until later like in the AM .. Times so get your rest Darling'.
Just as, 'could i?' turned to, 'we are gonna get coffee at this cupcake place', so, '?', turns to, 'we are doing this tonight'.

What's the rush?
Maybe Gypsy was just growing anxious and wanted the murder over and done with as soon as possible, although that doesn't come across in the message she sends Nick at
7.31am that morning, Gypsy - 'The shits gonna go down tonight Ruby said'.
Or maybe the plans changed to suit someone else's convenience.

On Tuesday 9th June 2015 at 5.36am, Nick arrived in Springfield, 'I'm in SPRINGFIELD BABY! <3 :-D <3'. Gypsy responded, (6.19am) 'Yay!!!!!!!!!!'.
Dee Dee had less than 24 hours to live, and Nick and Gypsy had less than 24 hours to change their minds.

When Nick was at the hotel, Gypsy messaged him words of love, encouragement and support, (Tuesday 9th June, 2015, 5.36am) Gypsy - 'For motivation sake bring your A game hun this is life with me on the line'. (1.12am) 'I just wanna say this thank u .. your my hero <3 and I will NEVER leave u I'm staying with u for eternity'. (1.17am) 'Your the most important person to me Sweetie your like me .. fight for what u want And need'. (1.41pm) Gypsy - 'No matter what I’m yours forevermore'. (1.41pm) Gypsy - 'I LOVE ADORE AND WORSHIP U MY EVERYTHING'.

On Monday 8th June 2015, at 3.04pm, Gypsy advised Nick that she was going to ER to have her infected feeding tube replaced. Gypsy told Nick, via a text message at 9.27pm, that her and Dee Dee had spent 6 hours at ER waiting to get her tube changed.
6 hours?
Would an emergency department really keep a wheelchair bound patient with a chromosome disorder waiting for 6 hours, or would they prioritise seeing her quickly?

There is a train of thought that Dee Dee was murdered on the evening of the 8th June, after the hospital visit, before Nick arrived at Dee Dee's house, but we're not on that train.
A wall calendar on display at Dee Dee's home (shown on the right) crosses through the first 7 days of June 2015, only, which led to some speculation that Dee Dee was killed on the 7th June,  but there is video and written evidence that Dee Dee and Gypsy attended ER on 8th June 2015.
A video which captured their ER visit can be seen below.

Tuesday 9th June, 2015
All we know about how Dee Dee spent her last day alive is what the unreliable narrator Gypsy tells us, "We went to the grocery store, came back home". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
We can see a grocery receipt in crime scene photos dated 9th June 2015 at 18.08pm for items purchased at the dollar store in Springfield; Two 3pk Large Entree's and 2 bright serving trays, totalling $9.
Neighbours would later report to last seeing Dee Dee at about 6pm on Wednesday, rather than Tuesday, but we are deducing this applies to Tuesday.

In Gypsy's 2024 atrocious memoir, 'My Time To Stand' (and mislead you into believing I was a victim), she references that Dee Dee, a vegetarian, "made sweet peas over rice (most of the time) for her dinner", and what appears to be a bowl of rice and peas can be seen in crime scene photos in the kitchen sink, so we're guessing that may have been Dee Dee's last meal.

Gypsy provides much more information about Dee Dee's final hours, "We painted each others nails. And I acted like everything was fine." (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Gypsy told Nick at 9.08pm that she was going to paint her nails, but she didn't mention painting Dee Dee's.
From what we can see of Dee Dee's fingernails in crime scene photos, they do appear freshly painted pink, and Gypsy's fingernails are seen to be painted a similar colour pink when photographed following her arrest on 16th June, 2015.
A bottle of pink nail polish can be seen on Dee Dee's bedside table in crime scene photos.
Nick asked Gypsy if she was going to paint her nails red, but she told him she didn't have any red nail polish.
Crime scene photos show a full pack of different coloured nail polishes, unopened, on a table, including red nail polish.

Gypsy continues her story, "We had just recently got into an argument, and we had made up. And I said I was going to be a good girl. And then she (Dee Dee) went to sleep because I hurt her feelings or something. She said, 'I'm starting to feel more relaxed. Don't hurt me'. The last words she said to me was, 'Don't hurt me' ". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
'Or something' is presented in a way that Gypsy has no idea what she has done wrong to upset Dee Dee, maybe forgetting her claim that she had allegedly just returned back to living inside the house, as opposed to her claim of living outside of it, or that she had once again stolen money from Dee Dee's safe in order to finance Nick's trip.
'Good girl' was Gypsy's habitual way of presenting herself as a child; it was a phrase she liked to use a lot.
But Gypsy wasn't a little girl, and promising your mother that you're going to be a 'good girl' is downright evil considering Gypsy knew exactly what was coming Dee Dee's way.

(See images below) During a recent Into The Weeds Podcast review of the FOIA files (20th April 2015), an eagle eyed You Tube viewer, @2Misha2-b6u, made a really good observation.
In crime scene photos, we can see that the infamous medicine cabinet, which faces off of the bathroom, does not have a lock on it; there's a latch on the door, but no hasp and no lock. We can also markings on the door for the placement of a hasp.
On the counter In the bathroom, there is a hasp and screws on the sink counter laying beside a pen.
On a table in the lounge area, we can see a shopping receipt, which shows the purchase of a padlock, with the padlock shown beside the receipt.
Clearly somebody was planning to install a lock on the medicine cabinet.
We are assuming that somebody was Dee Dee.
In April 2015, Dee Dee claimed her home had been burglarised and she filed a police report, which stated, "Dee Dee had been nervous ever since". It was alleged that $1,000 and prescription medications were stolen.
On 5th June 2015, Dee Dee reported to somebody she met during a visit to Dickerson zoo, that she had been robbed the night before of money she had been saving to send Gypsy to camp Barnabas.
This by itself only suggests that Dee Dee was taking measures to protect her home against further break ins, however, Dee Dee was also notating the amount she was saving in her money pouch, including recording the exact amount of each denomination of dollar bills.
In our opinion, Dee Dee was aware that a threat lay within her home, not outside of it.
And that threat was Gypsy.
"Don't hurt me". More like, "Don't rob me".

At 1.08am, Gypsy messaged Nick, 'It’s getting close to time she took her sleep aid pill'.
At
1.09am, Gypsy warned Nick, 'And once your Inside the house we stay silent not even a whisper until after I open the bathroom door ok Sir'.
Oh really? But Gypsy reports in her insulting-to-human-intelligence 2024 'memoir' ('My Time To Stand' and blame everybody and anybody for the life choices I made) that she answered the door to Nick in her (not so silent) electric wheelchair because she was so afraid Dee Dee would wake up and discover her walking.

We can assume Dee Dee fell asleep around 1.30am as Gypsy messaged Nick at 1.36am, to let him know, 'It's go time are u ready?'
According to Dr Marc Feldman, he who stupidly diagnosed Gypsy as a victim of Munchausen By Proxy by internet, Gypsy would have struggled to know, "Is death real or is it exaggerated or fake?" (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Yeah, you heard right.
Gypsy would have struggled to know if Dee Dee was dead after being stabbed to death.
Dee Dee's autopsy report, which was unsealed in August 2024, reveals Dee Dee didn't take a sleeping aid.
Gypsy lied to Nick.
No surprise there.

In a 2018 prison interview, Gypsy was asked how she was feeling at this time. She replied, "Terrified. I had taken some medication that was not prescribed to me. To calm me down." (Gypsy's Truth And Lies, 2018).
At 1.16am, Gypsy had asked Nick if he needed any anxiety medication to calm him down after the event.
Not before the event, after.
5 minutes later Gypsy messaged Nick, 'I got pain med for my back and I exercised my legs so I’m a bit weak walking but I’ll build strength'.
Would those be the legs Gypsy has repeatedly told us were in perfect working order?
In 2017, Gypsy said, "I was on a bunch of medications and I know that's no excuse but on Xanax, I felt like I had no emotion and I wasn't thinking right". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
Since when did someone take Xanax, a medication for anxiety and panic disorders, for back pain?
Out of 100 doctors Gypsy claimed to have seen, not one ever recorded any signs of anxiety in Gypsy.
That speaks volumes.
Gypsy would later claim that she was 'high' when Dee Dee was murdered.
'Not thinking right' did not prevent Gypsy from handing Nick the knife to kill Dee Dee when he arrived at her mother's door.

*** Current News Update (10th June 2025) ***

On 9th June 2024, Gypsy uploaded an image of her and her partner, Ken Urker, to her social media accounts showing them holding a sonogram of their yet to be born daughter, Aurora.
A year later, on the 9th June 2025, Gypsy uploaded the very same sonogram image  with a post relating to the significance of the date, 9th June; (Gypsy) "One year ago, we saw Aurora for the first time .... But today also marks 10 years since the death of my mother ... "
In the post, Gypsy, who predictably presents as the victim, callously refers to Dee Dee, the actual victim, as, "a woman not known for love, but for the abuse she inflicted on me".
But as you will see in the following section, text messages and a cab driver's log prove, without a doubt, that Nicholas Godejohn didn't arrive at Dee Dee's house until after 2am on 10th June 2015, so how can the 9th June be the anniversary of Dee Dee's death if Nicholas Godejohn killed Dee Dee on the 10th June?

People quickly caught on to this discrepancy and someone called Gypsy out on it on social media; "Didn't Nick get there on the 10th?"
Gypsy responded, "He was in Springfield on the evening of the 9th and it happened overnight into the early morning of the 10th".
For the many people who believe Gypsy herself killed Dee Dee before Nick arrived, this was pure mantra from heaven.

We have a feeling someone from within Gypsy's camp contacted Gypsy and quite literally had to tell her, 'Gypsy, the story you have put out for the past decade is that your mother died on June 10th'.
Gypsy then edited her original post; "One year ago, we saw Aurora for the first time ... But today, June 10th, also marks 10 years since the death of my mother ..."

Was it a genuine mistake
or a Freudian slip?
Who knows.

Imagine playing a central role in the your own mother's murder and, love or loathe them, not being able to remember the actual date it happened.

A police report states that on Wednesday 10th June 2015, a yellow cab picked Nick up from his motel at 1.57am, arriving at Dee Dee's house at 2.06am.
Just before Nick was due to leave the hotel, Gypsy had messaged Nick some additional information,
(Wednesday, 10th June, 2015 1.14am) Gypsy - 'My house has the ramp and the front porch ramp is painted white'.
You know. Just to make certain the arrow didn't miss the bullseye.

In 2019, Nick claimed that on arrival at Dee Dee's house, h
e heard two different voices speaking to him inside his head, one an angel and one a devil.
Nick says the 'angel' spoke to him first, "Which I wished I would have listened because it's weird, because that only reassured me that my original idea of what we should do (run away) would have been the right thing to do. It's really weird that it reassured me on that, but it actually said, it's very actual words was, 'Take her (Gypsy) and run' ". (Killer Couples, 2019).
Nick should have 'run' a very long time ago.
But Nick says that 'the other side of him', 'that darn devil', told him, "This bitch (Dee Dee) is dead". (Killer Couples, 2019).
Nick also confides, “No child (Gypsy) should ever have to get raised that way. My heart goes out to her (Gypsy) for that.” (Killer Couples, 2019).
Our hearts goes out to Nick for believing it.
In a 2019 prison interview, Nick reported, "Unfortunately I'd listened to my darker side because I wanted to be with her, and I remember what she (Gypsy) said, and I wanted to believe what she was saying, and unfortunately I should have listened to my other part of me I was trying to influence her to go with, but she never went with it. She never wanted to run away, so I couldn't get that to work'. (Prison Interview, 2019).

According to Nick, when he arrived at the door,  it was opened by Gypsy who handed him a pair of blue latex gloves to put on. This is at odds with what had been planned; Tuesday 9th June, 2015. (8.36pm) Gypsy - 'the screen door is skweeky so try to open it just enough to get in and close it gentle'. (8.36pm) Gypsy - 'I left the gloves outside the front door'. Wednesday 10th June, 2015, (1.48am) Gypsy - 'btw the gloves are blue'.
Nick believes that, "She (Gypsy) opened the door and she made sure I had the gloves on before she gave me the weapon, and she made sure that she wouldn't let me open the door. She made sure I had those gloves on before either those doors opened". (Prison Interview, 2019).
We believe that Gypsy opened the 'skweeky' door because she wasn't willing to risk any chance of waking Dee Dee up and the job not getting done.

On Tuesday 9th June 2015, Gypsy had messaged Nick, (8.37pm) Gypsy - 'Ill hand him (Victor) the knife and duck tape inside Darling' (8.37pm) Gypsy - 'It’s pre cut and ready'.
Nick had originally planned to use 'Minnie Mouse' duct tape to 'muffle' Dee Dee, but that idea seems to have been abandoned.
A roll of duct tape can be seen looking out of place in Dee Dee's bedside drawer.
The weapon Gypsy handed Nick was a KVD curved knife, in a black sheath, with a black and red fixed handle and a 6" blade, one side serrated, the other smooth, which Gypsy admits she had stolen from Walmart.
Walmart confirmed to the police post-murder, that they did stock the knife, which was on sale in their fishing aisle.
We don't know if 'I wasn't thinking right' Gypsy had removed the sheath before handing the knife to Nick, but something tells us yes, she very probably did.

At Nick's 2018 trial, the female cab driver who dropped Nick off at Dee Dee's house, testified under oath that, "He (Nick) didn't go to the front door, he headed to the rear of the home". (Nick's trial, 14th November, 2018).
Nick clearly says in his police interview, he entered the house through the front door, but here we have a witness watching him heading to the rear of the property.
Was Nick meeting up with someone before entering the house?
Or, perhaps, given that it was pitch black when Nick arrived at the house, Nick, who hadn't visited the house before, simply headed off in the wrong direction?

Nick says in his 2015 police interview that when he entered the house, “I couldn’t believe how much of a pigsty it was”.
'Pigsty' is an understatement. Keeping a clean and uncluttered home was not a priority to either Dee Dee, who had difficulty getting around, or 23 year old Gypsy, who claims she didn't.
There is a post on Web Sleuths dated June 18th 2015, from a woman who claims to have visited Dee Dee's house months prior to her murder, "
I can tell you, when we surprised them with dinner the home was immaculate. There wasn't anything out of place aside from a few dishes in the sink. I am not 100% sure as to the conditions recently (as in the last few months) but the times anyone I know was there the home was very clean and tidy!".
This adds to a sense that Dee Dee had just given up, or was forced to give up due to her poor health.
Nothing was stopping Gypsy from cleaning the house.

Gypsy recalls, "He (Nick) came in and he was wearing a hoodie and dark clothing, and a scary t-shirt that had evil clowns on it". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
Gypsy knew a day in advance that Nick wouldn't be arriving dressed in the 'Prince Charming' outfit she'd bought him, (Tuesday 9th June, 2015, 11.32pm) Gypsy - 'What will u be wearing hun?' (11.34pm) Nick - 'Something that will terrify her Hun its all Black and My Evils Side picked the full outfit Darling'.

Gypsy says in 2018, "The plan was that he (Victor) would put on the gloves and come in, and all I just had to do was go in the bathroom and keep quiet." (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
No it wasn't.
The evening before the murder, Gypsy had messaged Nick to tell him that she had shaved her 'private parts'. Nick then requested that Gypsy shave her 'lower parts' too. A few minutes later, Gypsy had told Nick, (8.54pm) 'I will do my legs as soon as he (Victor) knocks hun'.
Later that evening, Gypsy had warned Nick, (11.25pm) ' .. if it doesn’t go right run out of the house as fast as u can hun'.
Nick replied, (11.27pm) 'Baby there is no other option he is going to finish her (Dee Dee) no matter what that is how he is'.
Gypsy answered, (11.28pm) 'Ok Darling he is brave I respect and admire that'.
So Gypsy didn't only go into the bathroom to keep her precious self safe, it was also to give her legs a quick once over.
Two birds.
One stone.

Gypsy tells Dr. Phil, "And I handed him the knife, and he said, 'Get your ass in the bathroom now!' " (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
Nick says that when Gypsy opened the door he told her," 'Get in the bathroom. Get in the bathroom'. Because I just wanted this over with". (Killer Couples, 2019).
Nick reveals, "I loved her (Gypsy) so deeply that from the first step I walked into the house, I knew there was no going back". (Prison Interview, 2019).

Nick tells us that after Gypsy went into the bathroom and locked the door, "I waited at least a minute and thought about if I really wanted to do it ... The next thing I know, I ended up going right in to it (This was the second sentence), and thought there's no going back because I already, I had myself on my word, and I was not one to break my word to really anyone at all if I had one to keep, at the time if it was worth keeping. I was going to keep it, and that's what led me to it. I loved her so deeply that (indecipherable) I didn't want to break my word". (Prison Interview, 2019).

Gypsy told Dr Phil, "I just wish we wouldn't have done anything to begin with. I wish he (Nick) would have just said, 'I will help you get out of your situation but by means of contacting the police." (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
Gypsy continued, "I think he knew he could easily get me out of that situation by calling the police. Being responsible". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
Nick had asked Gypsy on numerous occasions to run away with him, and she had said no.
Gypsy also alleges that Nick 'exploited' her, which would be laughable were it not for the tragic consequences of her manipulation of him.

Gypsy claims that once she was inside the bathroom, "I got kind of in a fetal position and I covered my ears". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2007).
In a later interview, Gypsy places herself in a different position, "I went in the bathroom, closed the door behind me and kind of got down in a kneeling position and put my hands over my ears". (Mother Knows Best, 2007).

She was more likely standing upright in the bath shaving her legs.

With just an hour or so of life left to Dee Dee, Gypsy had messaged Nick, (1.48am) "And how long must I hold my ears hun?"
Nick had replied, (1.50am) "5 at the most".
The bathroom faced opposite Dee Dee's bedroom, separated only by a very narrow hallway.
Gypsy would have been less than 30 feet away from Dee Dee, if that, likely shaving her legs listening to her mother's terrified cries for her help.
Dee Dee's bedroom door had been removed at an earlier date, so the full force of Dee Dee's intense fear would have hit Gypsy's ears with the speed of those 10 aluminium balls she didn't fire from a BB gun.

(Excerpt below) In her 2024, trashy memoir, Gypsy claims, and we mean, seriously claims, that she answered the door to Nick in her electric wheelchair. As if! And if that isn't bad enough, she also says in the same book that Dee Dee didn't allow her to use her electric wheelchair. Unbelievable. According to Nick's police statement, Dee Dee was lying asleep on her stomach asleep when he entered her bedroom, a position he described as, allowing, "Easy access to her body". (Nick's Police Interview, 2015).
Dee Dee was wearing a white nightie and was loosely covered by blankets.
It was later discovered that Dee Dee had no undergarments on, but Nick said he wasn't aware of this until after he had killed her.
We cannot say if the small hallway leading into Dee Dee's bedroom was lit, but there were a string of Dr Who LED lights strung across Dee Dee's headboard which court documents record as 'lit' when Dee Dee's body was 'first' discovered, as well as a light inside her clothes closet. (Source: Hello Starlight Live).

Gypsy had already advised Nick that morning that Dee Dee, 'sleeps on her tummy like I said but light sleeper hun (June 9th, 2015, 7.31am).
Nick says he climbed on top of a sleeping Dee Dee, who was indeed sleeping 'on her tummy', and proceeded to stab her in a random spot on her back.
A combination of both things would have roused Dee Dee from her sleep, and her confusion, pain and sheer terror as to what was going on must have been unimaginable.
Nick says in his 2015 police interview, “First she (Dee Dee) said, 'Help' .. then she said, 'Who are you?' "
Nick admits Dee Dee struggled and attempted to put up a fight, but says this proved ineffectual due to his position straddling her back.
Nick is left-handed and says he held the knife in only one hand when stabbing Dee Dee.

In her 2015 police interview, Gypsy says she heard Dee Dee scream, recalling a 'startled' scream.
In 2017, Gypsy remembered, "I heard my mom wake up. And then she sounded startled. And there was some noises that I can't make out." (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
In 2018, Gypsy recalled, "I covered my ears so I wouldn't hear anything, but I still heard my mother scream, and at that point I thought, 'Hey. I don't want this to happen. I want this to stop now. But I was too afraid to go and help' ". (Gypsy Revenge, 2018).
Or too busy shaving her short, stumpy legs.
Gypsy further stated, "At first like, she, she sounded like she was startled. Like, 'Who's there?' ( (Gypsy Revenge, 2018).

In a 2019 prison interview, Gypsy said, "I heard her scream once, and there was more screaming. But not like the kind in a horror film. Just like a startled scream. And she asked who was it that was in the bedroom". (Gypsy's Truth And Lies, 2019).

Gypsy told Dr. Phil that hearing Dee Dee scream, "Broke my heart, because I knew there was no going back. Even if I wanted to. It's like part of me wanted to save her because there were good parts to her and she was my mother. And then the other part was like, if it just, it's going to be over in a little while, then I'll be able to live this good life where I'm free of her". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
Gypsy could easily have been free by handing Nick her suitcase and leaving the house with him when he arrived, instead she handed him a knife she had stolen.
And if Dee Dee had evicted Gypsy from the home two days earlier, then maybe it was Dee Dee who had wanted to live a good life free of Gypsy.

In her 2015 police interview, Gypsy admits to being aware of what Nick was doing when she heard Dee Dee scream, but claimed she was, “too afraid to go, because I was too afraid he’d (Nick) do the same to me”.
Gypsy reiterated this to Dr Phil, "He (Nick) told me prior, 'If you come in the bedroom, Victor might hurt you too .. So I was scared of that". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
The lies just roll off the lizard-like tongue.
In Nick's 2015 police interview, he stressed, "I would never lay my hands on her (Gypsy)".

Gypsy has never once expressed any empathy for how Dee Dee must have been feeling when she was being attacked. There's no, 'It must have been awful for her'. No, 'She must have suffered so much'. No, 'My poor mother, going through that'.
Instead, it's, 'terrified' me, the victim. 'Too afraid' me, the victim. 'Scared' me, the victim.
The real victim in this case was lying dead in her bed with 17 holes in her back, whilst the perpetrator of the crime readied herself to engage in role play sex with a 500 year old vampire.
Gypsy told Dr Phil that, "She (Dee Dee) didn't deserve what happened. If anything she just deserved to be where I am (In prison)". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
If both Dee Dee and Gypsy were committing fraud to the extent it was suspected, they both deserved to be 'where I am', and to still be there.
But one of them never made it to the prison gates, and the other exited them far too early.

When asked during his 2015 police interview if he spoke to Dee Dee whilst he was stabbing her, Nick responded that it was, 'the different form' of him, 'the evil side', that spoke to her.
He remembered telling her, 'You’re dead to me', 'Stop resisting me, you know you’re dead' and, 'Never get between me and Ruby'. He said, “There’s so many things and I can’t remember ‘em all.”
In her 2015 police interview, Gypsy remembered, “While he was doing it, he said a comment, ‘You won’t keep us apart. You’ll be dead before that happens”.
Gypsy thinks that Dee Dee would have thought it was a random attack, and Nick suggests that Dee Dee didn't recognise him, but we cannot rule out the heartrending possibility that there may have been a point when it dawned on Dee Dee exactly who was attacking her, why they were attacking her, and that her own daughter was involved.

Gypsy says that Dee Dee's screaming got louder and louder, and she heard Dee Dee cry out to her for help.
In 2017, Gypsy stated, "I heard her say my name a couple of times, and she said, 'Help me'." (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Gypsy told Dr Phil she was so scared, "I didn't move, even though I wanted to". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
In 2018, Gypsy confessed, "And she called out to my name about 3 or 4 times, and at that point I wanted to go help her so bad, but I was so afraid to get up. It's like my body wouldn't move. (Gypsy's Truth And Lies, 2018).
Old habits die hard.
Nick says Dee Dee 'yelped' loudly for Gypsy, but, "Gypsy didn’t do anything”. (Nick's police interview, 2015).
Gypsy says that whilst Dee Dee was screaming, "I didn't think anything. I was scared. I was shaking. I just, I didn't have a thought in my brain". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
In her 2015 police interview, Gypsy recounted her reaction to Dee Dee screaming as, “I’m so scared that I just covered my ears and I just crawled up in a little corner by the tub, like by the toilet”.
You can see in crime scene photos, that as small as Gypsy was, and as appropriate a place as it was for her to be, there wasn't much room for crawling around next to the toilet, an area largely taken up by a cat litter tray full of cat faeces.

And then Gypsy says, it went quiet.
The wretch that is Gypsy Rose Blanchard got what she had hoped her.
Dee Dee Blanchard was dead.

And how was Gypsy feeling following Dee Dee's death? Afraid? Scared? Sad? Sorry? High? Numb?
Nope.
(Gypsy) "I always reference myself to this little bluebird that was trapped in an invisible cage, and I felt like this bluebird was set free". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).

WARNING The content on this page contains some graphic images and descriptions of extreme violence which some adults may find distressing. This material is not suitable for children and reader discretion is strongly advised.

During his 2015 police interview, Nick is asked, "Do you know how many times you stabbed her (Dee Dee)?"
Nick held up 4 fingers and replied, "Er, Four".
Nick is then asked, "You stabbed her four?"
Nick responded, "Yeah, four times. The fourth one, I felt it go into, I think it might have been in her lungs because it, it was harder to get out".
Nick said he had to 'yank' out the knife with his final stab, but admitted the others had come out easier.
The detective continued with the same line of questioning, "You only stabbed her four times, are you sure about that?"
Nick replied, "Well as in stabbing, I stabbed four times, but I did actually cut her one other time besides that, on the back of her neck".
Nick said Dee Dee's neck wound had bled.

The detective interviewing Nick then addressed another subject for a few minutes before returning again to the number of stab wounds, "Is there any reason that we would think that maybe you stabbed her more than four times?" Nick answered, "Not that I'm aware of".
The detective then asked Nick if Gypsy stabbed Dee Dee, and Nick replied, "No, no, no."
Nick was asked, "So when you say four actual stabs, so those are the ones that went in deeper?" Nick answered, "Yeah".
The detective pressed Nick further on this, "Was there some littler ones?" Nick replied, "There might have been because I, the truth is that I counted the ones that went in deep. I didn't count any others, if there's any other ones."
The detective then suggested to Nick that maybe he inflicted other stab wounds which didn't go in deep and Nick, the seed of doubt planted in his head, went along with this.
When Nick was asked if he could remember where he stabbed Dee Dee, Nick said, "I honestly can't remember because I, I think it's just a blockage because of the guilt".

Thomas Vandeperg, the Chief Forensic Investigator with the Greene County Medical Examiners office, examined Dee Dee's body where it lay in her bed. He was also present at Dee Dee's autopsy later that same day.
His testimony at Nick's 2018 trial brings home the sheer brutality of the attack on Dee Dee, as confirmed by the release of Dee Dee's autopsy report which can be seen in full here
Thomas Vandeperg confirmed Dee Dee had been stabbed a total of 17 times. He noted 14 stab wounds on Dee Dee's back, a single stab wound just above Dee Dee's collarbone on the right side of the front of her body, and 2 stab wounds in Dee Dee's head just above her neck.
He also noted stab wounds on Dee Dee's neck and one behind her right ear.
Thomas Vanderperg reveals two large incise wounds to the back of Dee Dee's neck, both made by a series of cuts, both of which cut down to the bone of Dee Dee's cervical spine.
(Nick)  "I did actually cut her one other time besides that, on the back of her neck" (Nick's Police Interview, 2015).
Of the 14 stab wounds found on Dee Dee's back, 6 of the wounds penetrated into the chest cavity, and a few went into the abdominal cavity, suggesting they were deep wounds.
Of the 6 deep wounds, one entered the left side of Dee Dee's chest, damaging her left lung, before going into her pericardial sac (an outer layer protecting the heart) and into the left atrium of her heart.
Two of the stab wounds entered through the right side of Dee Dee's chest, damaging her right lung, before going through her diaphragm and into her liver.
Three of the stab wounds entered the right side of Dee Dee's body and went into her right lung.
There was an incise wound (a cut) on the ring finger of Dee Dee's left hand.
Forensic Investigator, Joseph Scott Morgan, advises, "What's all the more horrific is not just the injury of the knife being plunged through her (Dee Dee) back, but also penetrating the lungs ... she is essentially suffocating to death on her own blood". (The Twisted Tale Of Gypsy Rose, 2020).
Thomas Vanderperg's findings in no way resemble Nick's admission to inflicting only 4 deep wounds and one cut, or to his assertion that he was the only person to attack Dee Dee.

We are not coroners, but we have eyes, and we have brains, and we have researched this case.
The wounds on Dee Dee's back clearly look like they were made by two different assailants, one who stabbed deeply and randomly whilst in panic mode struggling with the victim, aka Nick, and one who didn't encounter much resistance, inflicting smaller, almost, hesitation style jabs, and didn't face the urgency Nick faced, who could well have been been Nick, or maybe somebody else, so we can see where the speculation has come from that there could have been more than one assailant.
We don't completely rule out the possibility that there was more than one assailant, either present before Nick entered the room, when Nick was in the room, or after Nick left the room, nor do we rule out the possibility that Nick was the sole assailant.
It's an impossible nut for those who weren't there to crack.

There is also a lot of support for the theory that Dee Dee was already dead by the time that Nick arrived.
Put bluntly, that's either an insult to Nick's intelligence, or Nick isn't being truthful about his role in the murder.
We also aren't ruling out the possibility that Dee Dee was unconscious, and possibly already wounded, prior to Nick entering the room.
In recently released (2025) court documents, Jim Stanley, one of the officers who would later find Dee Dee's body and check for a pulse, agreed that Dee Dee's wounds appeared, "to be black in color, not red like people normally would think of blood". (Source: Hello Starlight Live).
It is that redness that differentiates the larger wounds from the smaller ones.
There has been talk of two different knives being used; to date, we haven't found anything to prove this theory.

You would expect that 17 stab wounds and 2 incise wounds (the cuts to the back of Dee Dee's neck) would have caused significant blood loss, yet the tiniest amount of blood was found on the clothing Nick wore when he killed Dee Dee.
The amount found on Nick's T-Shirt and hoodie was so small that if you weren't looking for it, you probably wouldn't have seen it.
The mutilation of Dee Dee's neck alone sounds like it must have been a particularly bloody endeavour.
It's difficult to escape the obvious; if this happened the way Nick said it happened, there would be more blood on his clothing.

The clothes Nick had worn when he attacked Dee Dee were found unwashed at his home days after the murder, and the blood evidence we are shown on his clothing is minimal, whereas Dee Dee's nightgown was saturated in her blood.
So why wasn't more blood found on Nick's clothing?
Nick admits the fourth wound he made went in deep, and this is likely the wound that damaged Dee Dee's left lung, before going into the left atrium of her heart.
T
his wound would likely have resulted in Dee Dee's death, and would have immediately prevented blood from pumping around Dee Dee's body. But Nick says this was the 4th of 4 'deeper as opposed to little' stabs.
It still doesn't explain the lack of blood on Nick's clothing.
We could all go round the houses as to what happened to Dee Dee that night, but the truth is, there are only two people who know exactly what happened; one will never speak the truth, and the other has to hold their tongue until they have exhausted the appeals process.
Let's just hope the poor woman lost consciousness quickly and passed away before fully regaining it.

Images below courtesy of The Good Wives' Network
Nick says in his 2015 police interview that he didn't think Gypsy thought he would be able to go through with the actual killing, "She didn't think I'd actually be able to do it". "She didn't think I was capable of it".
(Gypsy) “I honestly thought he (Nick) would end up not doing it.” (ABC News, January 4th, 2018).
This supports the theory that maybe, just maybe, Gypsy did have somebody else waiting on the sidelines just in case things went pear shaped.

An autopsy was carried out on Dee Dee's body at 1pm on the day it was discovered.
Kristy Blanchard, no relation to the deceased, was given access to Dee Dee's autopsy report.

When Kristy browsed a section in the report relating to Dee Dee's brain, Kristy reportedly, "Stared for a while at the portion about Dee Dee’s brain. The lawyer asked her why. “I want to know what the hell was going through her mind,” Kristy said. “What is in that brain of hers that triggered all of this shit?" (Michelle Dean, Buzz Feed News, August 19th, 2016).
From the get go Kristy Blanchard has overwhelmingly ingratiated herself in a murder case she has no real connection to, other than being married to the absent father of the perpetrator of the crime.
Under the cover of questionable but obvious motives, Kristy Blanchard has created the false narrative, cut the deals, sold the stories and driven the Gypsy train.
She has placed herself at the very heart of a tragedy her husband helped to create.
This is not Kristy Blanchard's story to tell.
It's not Rod Blanchard's.
It's not even Gypsy's.
To a point, it's Nick's.
But at its heart, it's Dee Dee's story.
People need to start telling it.

In 2018, Gypsy recalled that she and Nick explored different ways to murder Dee Dee, "We started looking at some different poisons. We went looking at arson, pretended a candle fell in the bedroom and caught fire. And we went looking at a gun". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
In his prison interview, Nick claims, “She (Gypsy) looked up multiple times of how to do it because she wanted to find the quickest way … the way she (Dee Dee) would be in less pain. She wanted her mum’s death to be quick”.
Surely a bullet to the head would have resulted in a quicker death than what Dee Dee must have endured.
It's almost as though Gypsy wanted Dee Dee to suffer as much as possible.

Nick would later admit to receiving a small, accidental knife cut on the inner top of the first finger of his right hand when he was stabbing Dee Dee.
He also reported to receiving a small wound just below his right elbow.
These wounds probably occurred when the handle of the knife Nick was using became wet with Dee Dee's blood, causing his hand to slip.
What hasn't been widely reported is the lesion on the right side of Nick's back - which resembles a large 'scrape' - that can be seen in an image taken following his arrest, 6 days after Dee Dee's murder. (Bottom right).
This information was released by Nick's support group, NPG Cornerstone Nation on the 18th March, 2025; they provide an image of the wound, state that it happened during Nick's 'altercation' with Dee Dee, and remind the reader that Nick was wearing a T-Shirt and a hoodie.
Riddle me this.

DNA testing of the handle of the knife showed a DNA profile characteristic of being a mixed profile of three people, Dee Dee, Gypsy and Nick.
DNA testing of a blood spot found in the sink in Dee Dee's bedroom showed a DNA profile characteristic of being a mixed profile of three people, Dee Dee, Gypsy and Nick.

The letter 'V' appears to have been written on one of Dee Dee's buttocks using her blood.
Perhaps V for Victor.
Or, in Gypsy's case, V for victory.

On 7th December, 2024, NPG: Cornerstone Nation released information revealing that Stephanie Godejohn, Nick's mother, texted Nick when he was at Dee Dee's house, at 2.13am, and asked him to call her the following day. She also told him she loved him.
Nick responded to this message a minute later, and to a subsequent text message which quickly followed.
The group also claim that Gypsy did not immediately open the bathroom door following the agreed code.
Nick arrived at Dee Dee's house at 2.07am. This offers a very short time frame for Nick to commit the crime, try and get Gypsy to open the bathroom door, go to the kitchen to look for a Band Aid and to read and respond to his mother's text message.
This information not only brings into question Gypsy's sequence of events, but, also, ironically, Nick's.

And so the plot thickens.
Are you hearing this, Gyp?

Gypsy claims that although 'Victor' had agreed to kill Dee Dee, there were conditions attached. "One condition would be, it would be with a knife. The other condition is he would have to rape her (Dee Dee) after he murdered her. And I told him, 'Absolutely not. I am not okay with that'. And he said, 'It's either Victor's way or the highway'. Like, Victor wont do it if you don't agree to my terms. So I said, 'Fine. Use the knife but you are not raping her. He's like, 'Well fine, I'll make you a deal. It's either rape her or rape you after'.  And I said, "Rape me', because I won't let you do it to her' ". (The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2019).

We have already established that the decision to use a knife came about through a joint process of elimination.

Nick openly admits in his police interview that had previously spoken with Gypsy about raping Dee Dee, but said, “I changed my mind because I felt bad for the whole situation of having to kill her mum in general, so I decided just to kill her quickly”. (Nick's police interview, 2015).
Nick doesn't divulge who's idea it was to rape Dee Dee, but he is firm when he says he didn't touch Dee Dee sexually, before, during or after killing her.
Dee Dee's autopsy report doesn't disclose any injuries relating to a sexual assault.

As for Gypsy's allegation that she offered herself to 'Victor' as some kind of sacrificial lamb in place of her mother, the lady doth protest too much.
Approximately 2 hours before Nick would find himself straddling and stabbing Dee Dee, Gypsy messaged him and asked, (1.29am) Gypsy - 'Will he (Victor) allow me to wet his .. your penis before he takes me hun? I don’t know if he’s gonna do anal or vag I was hoping to do anal'.

Gypsy's only concern with regards to the role-play rape she planned with Nick, wasn't the acted-out rape itself, it was if 'Victor' would use a lubricant.

There is no discussion of Gypsy being raped instead of Dee Dee in any of Nick and Gypsy's hundreds of text messages.
WARNING The content on this page contains some graphic images of extreme violence which some adults may find distressing. This material is not suitable for children and reader discretion is strongly advised.

After Nick determined that Dee Dee was dead, he says he went to the bathroom and delivered the pre-arranged '3 knocks, 2 scratches' code on the door, signalling to Gypsy that the job was done, and it was safe for her to come out of the bathroom.
In 2017, Gypsy claims, "Before I could let him (Nick) in (to the bathroom), he commanded me that I must shave my legs and any body hair and present myself to him naked." (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
Gypsy must have literally wept when the text messages between her and Nick were released into the public domain.
Truth outs Gyp.
Always.

Gypsy continues, "I opened the door and I was completely naked. But I was wearing a wig because my head was shaved. I let him in and he was holding the knife in his hand and his finger was bleeding. Um, and he said, "She tried to fight me off but I was too strong for her. Clean up my finger'. And so I knew that there was bandages in the closet, so I got bandages, cleaned off his finger. Then he commanded me to clean up blood spots on the carpet that led from her bedroom to the kitchen." (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
Gypsy wasn't wearing a wig because her head was shaved.
Gypsy was wearing a wig because she was presenting as Ruby.

On Tuesday 9th June, 2015. (10.09pm) Nick messaged Gypsy - ' .. when he (Victor) gets you from the Bathroom, I Suggest you are naked when he sees you after the Deed'. (10.11 PM) Gypsy - 'Ok Darling'.

In her 2015 police interview, conducted 6 days after the murder, Gypsy states, “I know that helping him clean up was wrong, but he said I had to, and he grabbed me by my throat and he said I had to”. (Gypsy's Police Interview, 2015).
At Nick's 2018 trial, Gypsy admits under oath that she cleaned up voluntarily and that Nick did not make her clean up.

Gypsy claims she didn't go inside Dee Dee's bedroom after the murder or see Dee Dee's corpse, and Nick confirms this, although Nick has a very bad habit of standing up for and protecting his jailer, little Miss Gypsy.

When Dee Dee's body was discovered by the police, a child's stuffed Barney doll was found resting slightly underneath the top of Dee Dee's head.
Gypsy's Barney doll.
Nick was questioned by the police about the doll.
Although at first Nick seemed pretty certain he had seen the doll in Gypsy's room, he then changed his mind and said he didn't remember seeing one.
If you watch Nick's police interview, you may agree that Nick very probably told the truth the first time.
It's very likely somebody placed the Barney doll there post murder.
And it's most unlikely that somebody was Nick.
In a 2014 People magazine interview, Gypsy states, "I can go back in memory as far as maybe 3 years old. I was holding a Barney stuffed animal, and my mum was walking beside me, holding my hand. It's a simple memory, but it's sweet". (People magazine, 11th January, 2014).
Did Gypsy realise the relevance of what she was saying?
Probably.
Did she feel empowered saying it?
Probably.

And so on to the more likely truth of events following the killing, which, ironically, we get from one of the murderers, Nick, who largely tends to tell the truth, often corroborated by text messages between himself and Gypsy, and this crazy thing called evidence, unlike his partner in crime, who continues to not tell the truth.
In his 2015 police interview, Nick says that following the murder, he performed the agreed code on the bathroom door but Gypsy didn't open the door straight away, because she was shaving her private parts and her legs.
Nick admits that he had wanted Gypsy to do this, but felt it was something she had wanted to do too.
Nick says that whilst he waited for Gypsy to finish up, he paced up and down the narrow hallway, looking into Dee Dee's bedroom as he passed to ensure she was dead.
Nick remembers that Gypsy emerged from the bathroom naked, wearing a long, brunette wig, the favoured wig of 'Ruby'.

Nick reports that both he and Gypsy set to cleaning up the crime scene, using a liquid cleaner, disinfectant wipes and paper towels.
Nick says
Gypsy had then wanted to clean up by herself, to get the job done quicker and to prevent Nick from leaving additional fingerprints.
Nick also claims that Gypsy had wanted to remove things from the house that suggested she lived there, like photographs, some of which, Nick says, Gypsy threw out in the trash.

When detectives entered the property following the murder, a black snapback cap was discovered in the hall, lying randomly on the floor close to a bottle of cleaning fluid and a wipe, looking completely out of place.
Gypsy had no need for a cap, she was wearing a wig, and though there are photos of her wearing caps, there are none with her wearing this particular cap.
Nick wasn't wearing a cap, so it didn't belong to him, and it's doubtful it was on, and then fell off, Dee Dee's head when she made her way to bed.
It's almost as if somebody either removed their cap whilst they were strenuously helping clean up, or it accidently fell off, perhaps when they couldn't hold things together anymore and fled the scene.
It's not Gypsy's cap.
It's not Nick's cap.
It's not Dee Dee's cap.
It's likely an old NFL Reebok Orleans Saints cap, a football team based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
There's one way to establish whose cap it was or it wasn't.
Extract some DNA and test it.
Or did the plea deal stop that from happening?
Of course it did.

In the extras section of 'The Prison Confessions Of Gypsy Rose' (2024), Gypsy comes up with some new, unheard of information relating to Dee Dee's murder.
(Gypsy) "Nick really wanted my mother to suffer as much as possible ..
No he didn't. Nick says that when Gypsy opened the door he told her," 'Get in the bathroom. Get in the bathroom'. Because I just wanted this over with". (Killer Couples, 2019).
(Gypsy) ".. in a very violent and demented way ..
Remember the instructional video Gypsy sent Nick on how she wanted him to kill Dee Dee? Stab. Stab. Stab. Stab.

(Gypsy) " .. And so one of the fantasies that he (Nick) expressed to me was that he wanted to murder her (Dee Dee) and then he wanted to dump her on an abandoned farm. There's pigs there, and apparently pigs eat anything". (The Prison Confessions Of Gypsy Rose, 2024).
And how did Nick plan on transporting the body?
Nick didn't have a driving licence.
Nick couldn't drive.
Gypsy didn't have a driving licence.
Gypsy couldn't drive.
How exactly was Nick going to move Dee Dee's corpse to an abandoned pig farm? On a greyhound bus?
Remember this? - (Gypsy) “I told him (Her 'friend', Dan) vaguely about what was going on at home. He told me, you know, um, ‘You just pack your stuff, um, and um, come live with me in Arkansas’. And I said, “Okay”. (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Gypsy made her claim about the pig farm before the true identity of the real Daniel Glidewell was exposed and verified, and before we knew he had once offered to take her to a place of refuge in Arkansas.
Dan's family has a farm in Arkansas.
Was talking about dumping Dee Dee's body at a farm in Arkansas Gypsy's way of sending a veiled threat to Dan?
Was it a way of saying, if you support Nick's appeal I'll implicate you in my mother's murder.
Would you be surprised if you heard that it was?
In her 2015 police interview, Gypsy describes her post-murder, sexual encounter at her house with Nick as, “I was in shock and he took me to my bedroom and he made me take all my toys off the bed and he raped me”. (Gypsy's Police Interview, 2015).
Would one of those toys have been a Barney Doll perchance?
Gypsy says the rape made her feel, “Horrible because it hurt”. (Gypsy's Police Interview, 2015).

In 2017, Gypsy claimed, "He (Nick) had wanted to rape my mother. That’s what he wanted to do. He was like, ‘I’m going to kill her, but I’m going to do it my way, and I’m going to rape her. So, what I did was I made a deal with him. I’d let him rape me, and um, then he wouldn’t, he wouldn’t do that to my mum." (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Gypsy continues, "Technically once we got to that point, I screamed for him to stop and he didn’t. So, I don’t consider it to be consensual. I loved Nick very much at that time and being with him felt exciting because I was with someone I loved and someone I thought cared for me". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
There is no question that Nick cared for and loved Gypsy.
The question is, did Gypsy ever care for or love Nick?
In our opinion, absolutely not.

In his 2015 police interview, Nick claims that after cleaning up, “She (Gypsy) wanted to have sex with me, so I did”. (Nick's Prison Interview, 2015).
Nick claims they had consensual sex in her bedroom on her bed.
Nick remembers making room on the bed by removing some stuffed toys, and alleges they had vaginal, anal and oral sex.
Nick says he did not ejaculate.
He told the detective interviewing him that he didn’t, “Hardly feel any pleasure”, and says he had trouble ejaculating, "The whole time I was in Springfield". (Nick's Prison Interview, 2015).
Nick reported that Gypsy gave him oral sex, but they stopped because they had things to do.
Nick recalls in his police interview that after they had sex they put the stuffed toys back on the bed.
Was this the trigger for 'somebody' placing Gypsy's Barney Doll underneath Dee Dee's head?

If Nick didn't ejaculate, and as hard as it is to appreciate, Nick does tend to tell the truth, then whose bodily fluid (semen) was found on Gypsy's bed? (See photo below; presence of bodily fluid markers #103 and #104).
If not Nick's, then whose was it?
Who else had Gypsy had sex with on her bed?

After the murder Nick and Gypsy stole almost $5,000 belonging to Dee Dee, which they allege was kept in a pouch in a single-drawer dresser in Dee Dee’s bedroom.
Dee Dee had originally had $10,000 in savings, but had recently put down a $5,000 payment on a new car
In his police interview, Nick says Gypsy told him where to find the money, which Nick claimed he retrieved.

All Gypsy has to say about the stolen money is, "My mother had a money pouch. Little did I know that it was my dad sending child support. So we took it, and that's how we paid for everything". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
Likely little did Rod know either, unless he provides proof to substantiate he was still sending child support for a 23 year old adult who, try not forget, was not a child.
'We' didn't pay for anything.
It was Dee Dee's money.
Dee Dee paid for everything, and continues to do so to this day.
The clothes on Gypsy's back.
The house she lives in.
Even the food she eats.
Dee Dee pays for all of that.
Gypsy even took a Walmart gift card gifted to Dee Dee.
Every little helps, eh, Gyp?

At Nick's 2018 trial, Gypsy is asked in relation to the stolen money, "Where'd you get that money?" Gypsy replies, "I stole it from my mother's safe". (Nick's Trial, 2018).
During the early period of Gypsy's incarceration, two inmates made statements to the effect that Gypsy told them she did enter Dee Dee's bedroom following the murder. These will be discussed later.

Nick states in his 2015 police interview that after he and Gypsy had consensual sex, Gypsy packed her clothes in a pink suitcase and a black backpack, as well as some movies, including Game Of Thrones and True Blood.
What? Not a single Disney movie?
On the 30th May, 2015, Gypsy had messaged Nick, (8.06pm) Gypsy - 'The first movie I wanna watch with u is fifty shades of gray I also think we should start with Soft wet Anal sex before big time Anal'.
Just in case Nick was faltering.

In 2017, Gypsy says, "We packed a couple of things in my suitcase. We called the cab and we went back to the hotel he was staying at." (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
But a few months later, Gypsy tells Dr Phil,  "He (Nick) tells me to grab a suitcase. I find a suitcase. Um, and, he starts going through my things in my closet, picking out clothes to pack. Then he calls the cab and we leave the house." (Mother Knows Best, 2017).

The cab driver who collected them arrived at 5.48am testified at court that Nick was wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt when he got in the cab.
On their arrival at The Days Inn motel, it is Gypsy who paid the cab fare, which suggests that it was Gypsy who had charge of the cash.

In crime scene photos something resembling a possible restraint is seen photographed on Dee Dee's bed.
The length of cloth is heavily blood stained and was located laying next to a pillow by Dee Dee's body.
This is actually a 'prayer rag' (a type of rosary) that Dee Dee was known to sleep with. (Source: The Good Wives' Network).

Nick claims it took approximately 5 minutes to commit the crime.
Nick and Gypsy then cleaned up, had sex and packed.
For almost four hours?
There's a bottle of men's body wash photographed post-murder in the bathroom standing on the brim of the bath.
Nick doesn't mention that he bathed, only that Gypsy dressed the small wound he had on his finger.
It's not something you would expect Gypsy to have stolen from Walmart.
So who did it belong to?
As much as we don't like to speculate, it is a valid point for speculation.

In all of Gypsy's recollections about the murder, she forgets to mention that before fleeing the scene she, not Nick, Gypsy, turned the air conditioning up to a ridiculously high level to delay decomposition of Dee Dee's body.
She also sprinkled baby powder around Dee Dee's bedroom to mask the inevitable smell that would follow.

(Gypsy) "I always reference myself to this little bluebird that was trapped in an invisible cage, and I felt like this bluebird was set free". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).

We're thinking more Godzilla.
