David Blanchard - Links to BDSM And The Murder Of Dee Dee Blanchard
Our website is updated on a daily basis. We're regularly working on new leads as well as deep diving information we already have, so information may change as                                          more truths are uncovered. We've only scratched the surface of this case, there's still so much more to discover.

Excerpts from Gypsy Rose Blanchard's 2024, 'memoir', 'My Time To Stand', are  interspersed throughout the website, to illustrate and reinforce that a false narrative continues to be promoted.
WARNING The content on this page contains some graphic images and descriptions of extreme violence which some adults may find distressing. This material is not suitable for children and reader discretion is strongly advised.

According to VisionCon's now deleted website, VisionCon started out as a game day held in 1989, gradually developing into a weekend long event, a transition VisionCon described as adding, 'spice to the pie'.
By 2002, the event was promoted as, 'Still a gaming convention (but) - 'with a twist'.
From what we have seen looking through VisionCon's websites from 1999 - 2002, this shift, or 'twist' - the 'spice' - had less to do with gaming and more to do with adult-related themes, and should have brought into question VisionCon's status as a 'child friendly event'.

It is stated on VisionCon's website, that David Blanchard started working for the organisation in 1996.
In 2002, 29 year old, twice divorced, father of one, David, also calling himself 'Duncan', was employed as an assistant floor co-ordinator at VisionCon.
David's previous roles at VisionCon included 'gopher' and working security at the event.

David's hobbies during his time at VisionCon appear to have included RPG (Role playing games) and LARP (Live action role playing, colloquially known as, 'larping'), interests shared by Dan Glidewell.

We know that Dan Glidewell attended VisionCon in 2001 - a then relatively small event - because we found evidence of what was once a visible image of Dan on VisionCon's 2001 website, an image which was possibly erased from the website before the actual website itself was deleted.
We found many other images from VisonCon's 2001 event that weren't erased.
Another 2001 VisionCon erased image was one of
David Blanchard.
Make of that what you will.

According to David's social media, David also appears to have enjoyed, in his words, 'making stuff', which included metallic looking, skimpy bras and women's belly dancing attire.

David would remain working at VisionCon until 2015, but would be allowed to keep his finger in the pie until VisionCon ceased trading in 2023.

In 2007, David Blanchard took on a second role, assisting in the running of Ground Xero, a Springfield 'Goth' night club, which opened its doors on 26th August, 2007.
Also working at the venue were two of David's VisionCon buddies and colleagues, including one who sat on VisionCon's board of directors.
A friend of David Blanchard's has said they helped run the club with David, which suggests David Blanchard was doing more than just helping out as and when.
What a busy little bee in the 'adult entertainment' world David/Duncan Blanchard was.

In October, 2007, the venue began hosting an, 'An 18+ Gamer Sunday event', geared towards people who enjoyed role playing games (RPG) and live action role playing (LARP), and it's fair to suggest - having looked at other people working at the club and what they brought to the table - that David and his two VisionCon colleagues were instrumental in introducing the 'gaming' element to the venue.
Like VisionCon, Ground Xero's, 'Gamer Sunday', also slid from a day event to a weekend event, and in February 2008, the venue introduced 'Not Con', a weekend long event - an obvious pun on VisionCon, which was cancelled that year.
'Not Con' also incorporated some of the adult-related themes associated with VisionCon into its event, themes that were missing from 'Gamer Sunday', for example,  a costume party and a slave auction, and again we can see a shift from pure gaming to more adult-related themes.
It's worth noting that Dan Glidewell was also interested in RPG and LARP, attending VisionCon in 2009 and taking part in a LARP performance. We have been told that the Larping community in Springfield at that time was small and tightknit, so it's fair to suggest Dan may well have attended some of the 'gaming' events at Ground Xero. (Unfortunately we haven't managed to find any images from the event, but time will tell).

Ground Xero was also booked to host the 2008 'Masque And Veil' festival, and David Blanchard is shown on the staff section of the festival website as, David 'Duncan' Blanchard - his role, 'Festival Security, Personnel'.
One of the main features of the festival, 'The Biohazard Ball', was advertised as an event which involved the wearing of a 'cyber mask', aka, 'a custom made, medical gas mask or rubber latex mask'.
A 'Bondage Stage Demo' was also scheduled to showcase during the Biohazard Ball, featuring, 'Miss Kali's troupe of performers', a troupe described on the website in the context of, "Leather, latex and revealing clothing. The BDSM/fetish subculture has in recent times been known to be closely associated with gothic and industrial events". (Masqueandveil.com)
The festival had to be cancelled last minute due to hurricane Ike, but Masque and Veil did manage to host at least one event at Ground Xero, 'La Sanguinee' IV, aka, the 'return of the blood letting ball', which was staged on Valentine's day, 2008, encouraging guests to, 'Dress your best in blood red or vampire attire".

We can now clearly see elements of BDSM creeping in to Ground Xero - further reinforced by their 'Links Of Interest' page on their website, which included links to, 'Alter Ego Erotics' and 'The Fetish Factory' - and you don't have to look too far to also see those elements on display at VisionCon.
That's now two clubs David Blanchard is associated with that have links to bondage and discipline.
But it's about to get a whole lot darker.
Bondage and discipline are only two elements of BDSM.

On Saturday 21st June, 2008, a group of performers known as the 'Pain Tribe' were booked to appear at Ground Xero.

'Pain Tribe', aka, 'Atone Pain Tribe', referred to themselves on their MySpace account as, a 'travelling freak show', and in a press statement they describe their act as, "taking the extreme side show, fetish and torture scene by storm".

Pain Tribe started out in 2001, mainly putting on shows in their home state of Louisiana - quite the coincidence -  until 2007, when they started touring.
Features of their show included, 'suicide', 'cage torture', 'face spears' and 'frontal coma suspension'.
We have no idea who booked the 'Pain Tribe' to appear at Ground Xero, but we do know that David Blanchard was still working at the venue just before the act was likely booked - 'DJ Duncan' hit the decks at Ground Xero on 12th March, 2008 - as well as after Pain Tribe had appeared - The Masque And Veil Festival was due to take place in September, 2008.
Whilst we cannot yet physically place David Blanchard attending this event, it's fair to assume that he was aware of the booking and who Pain Tribe were.

It is also worth remembering that other VisionCon staff were also involved in the running of Ground Xero, and other members of the VisionCon organisation attended events at Ground Xero, as did a number of Dan Glidewell's close friends. (We do have photographic evidence of this).

With 'Pain Tribe' comes the additional elements of BDSM; sadism and masochism, and unfortunately the best way to convey this is through the use of a small number of the less disturbing images taken from Pain Tribe's shows, including performances from June, 2008.

You would think that perhaps David Blanchard and his VisionCon colleagues - who worked for an organisation that described itself as 'charity-driven' and welcomed vulnerable children and adults - were mortified when they found out about Pain Tribe appearing at Ground Xero, and immediately distanced themselves from Ground Xero, a venue which staged a live demonstration of, albeit, consenting adults, receiving pain and inflicting pain upon others, but that didn't happen.
In fact, things got a lot darker.

Ground Xero closed its doors on 31st December, 2008, shortly reopening thereafter as another club known as 'Zeal'.
And there was David Blanchard and his VisionCon colleagues, ready and willing to offer a helping hand.
With more live BDSM performances to follow.

By 2010, David Blanchard was fully immersed in the VisionCon world, and was also on to wife number 3, Kimberly French.
In our opinion, Kim's only fault in this case, is being married to a man who people have described as a, 'bully', who 'assaulted women' and who Kim was 'scared' of.
We hope Kimberly Blanchard has found peace in her life.

By 2010, David was also a member of the 501st Legion, a Star Wars Imperial costuming group who state on their website - "While the 501st was initially founded to unite costumers with a penchant for Star Wars villainy, one of our real-world missions is to bring good to our communities through volunteer charity work. The 501st is always looking for opportunities to brighten the lives of the less fortunate and to bring awareness to positive causes on both a local and global scale".
This was the group who awarded Gypsy Rose Blanchard an honorary membership in 2010 - "Squad 66 gained it's first Honorary Squad member, Gypsy Rose Blancharde. There was not a dry eye in the crowd at the closing ceremonies as the little girl with such a big heart gave her momentous acceptance speech." (70th Explorers, 26th January, 2010).
David Blanchard was also a member of the 70th Garrison, a local chapter of the 501st Legion.

Both of these groups carry out fantastic work that shouldn't be overshadowed by our research. However, we can't help but believe that at least some members of these groups, which included close friends of David's as well as people who worked at VisionCon, must have been aware of David's involvement with Ground Xero and Zeal, and by association, his links to BDSM, but apparently not, as his membership with both organisations continued for many years.

What with his work at VisionCon and the 501st legion, as well as with the 70th Garrison, David Blanchard had a busy life, but he still found time to engage on the forums he was now a member of.
Also seen on the same VisionCon forum at the same time as David Blanchard was a lady called 'Dee Dee'.
'Dee Dee' had been a member of the forum since 2006.
We cannot say this is Dee Dee Blanchard, or Gypsy posing as Dee Dee -which we believe Gypsy sometimes did - but we also cannot say it isn't.

In his 2015 police interview, David Blanchard claimed he didn't know Gypsy could walk, but evidence suggests otherwise. For example, David Blanchard attended a small friends gathering just over a month after Gypsy 'ran away' from home in 2011, where the person who claims to have contacted Dee Dee to come and get Gypsy from Dan's house was present with her husband, both of whom worked with David Blanchard at two different venues, including VisionCon. They were work colleagues. They were buddies outside of work. But they never conversed with David, their work colleague x2, their buddy, about Gypsy's escapade?
We don't buy that.

Kimberly Blanchard started working at VisionCon in 2009 as the events club co-ordinator and married David Blanchard shortly after.

By 2012, David Blanchard was the president of VisionCon, the top dog, and would continue in that role until 2015.
We would like to know how this happened given David Blanchard's association not only with Ground Xero, but also with Zeal.
Did nobody object?
Did nobody have any reservations?
Did nobody say, 'Hit the road Jack'?

WARNING The content on this page contains some graphic images and descriptions of extreme violence which some adults may find distressing. This material is not suitable for children and reader discretion is strongly advised.

'Zeal', the venue formerly known as 'Ground Xero', popped up in early 2010 and closed in late 2012.

Zeal held club nights according to specific genres of music, thus, one club night, 'Fractured Wednesdays' was geared towards genres of dance music, whilst another, 'Tormented Tuesday', was advertised as, a 'bi-weekly tribute to Dark music'.
'Tormented Tuesday' is the club night we are interested in, because it's the club night where we once again find David Blanchard and his same two VisionCon colleagues from his Ground Xero days working.

David Blanchard DJ'd at 'Tormented Tuesday' on at least three occasions that we currently know of, his VisionCon buddy also DJ'd there.

'Tormented Tuesday' held fetish shows every couple of months, which it records as its 'most crowded nights with LOTS of cool shit going on'.
We find it hard to believe that David wasn't in the know as to what would sometimes take place at the venue he was happy to DJ at.
Images that we have seen from the event, including the fetish show events, also show, once again, people associated with both VisionCon and Dan Glidewell in attendance at 'Tormented Tuesday' events.
We would prefer to call these nights, live BDSM shows, and will let the images taken from the 'Tormented Tuesday' 'fetish shows' speak for themselves.
One particular set of disturbing images shows a girl hog-tied to a pole. Hot candle wax is then dropped onto different parts of her body and once dried, is peeled off with a knife.
In another set of images, a man has hooks inserted into both arms attached to chains, before being having the chains pulled in two opposing directions.
What we also find particularly alarming about these shows, is the number of people homing in and taking photographs and videoing the acts, whilst they took place.
Whilst all the people engaged in the acts at the show appear to be consenting adults, we would like to know what in God's name was the boss of VisionCon doing being associated with this?
(We do have more evidence to substantiate that David had knowledge of events held at the club, but that would involve naming other people not connected to the case, one of whom is now deceased).

David Blanchard stated in 2018, "She (Gypsy) was unable to walk anywhere. I myself have picked her up and transported her between, you know, couches and beds and vehicles". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
Bullshit.
If that even happened, we don't think Dee Dee Blanchard would have allowed David Blanchard anywhere near Gypsy if she had been aware of his association with BDSM.
Research suggests that Gypsy Rose Blanchard may not have held the same reservations.

The images below are taken from two separate 'fetish nights' held at Zeal that we have currently been able to trace and are freely available on the web, as are images of the Pain Tribe.
There are some seriously horrific images of this particular group acting out their fetishes on a public bridge in broad daylight, cameras and video recorders at the ready, which we chose not to include.

BDSM and role playing is often highlighted as being a feature in Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Nicholas Godejohn's relationship, and Gypsy lays the blame for this entirely - and we feel, unjustly - at Nicholas Godejohn's door, but we now know that Nick and Gypsy weren't the only characters in this case associated with BDSM.
In 2011, Gypsy was linked in a Facebook chat to fetlife.com.

That was way before she crept onto the pages of Christiandatingforfree.com and came upon Nicholas Godejohn's profile.

Suspicion has always surrounded David Blanchard's possible role in Dee Dee's murder, and whilst we do not necessarily believe he played a physical role in Dee Dee's death, we do feel it is relevant to expose the role he, and others, may have played in shaping, supporting and possibly exploiting Gypsy's interest in BDSM.
Roles that likely would have been exposed had Gypsy's case gone to trial.

Gypsy claimed she wanted Dee Dee's death to be painless, but what part of using a KVD curved knife with a 6" blade shouts out 'painless' to you?

It's sadistic to say the very least.

Nicholas Godejohn is adamant that Dee Dee was alive when he attacked her, and says she cried out for help,  but 'alive' can also apply to a state of unconsciousness.

Nick was also pretty adamant that he inflicted 4 stab wounds on Dee Dee's back and one cut on her neck, but Dee Dee was stabbed 17 times and sustained two cuts on the back of her neck.
We are now starting to question what may have happened
before Nick arrived.

In 2025, newly released court documents revealed that a Canon digital camera was discovered in a backpack Gypsy had taken to Nicholas Godejohn's house following Dee Dee's murder.
A 4GB memory card was found in the camera.
The camera and the memory card were never admitted into evidence at Nick's trial.
Nicholas Godejohn's 2022 appeal defence team requested a copy of the contents of the camera and memory card.
Their request was denied.
Why?
It makes no sense at all that this request would be denied.
What exactly is on the camera and memory card?
Nick's defence team were told the camera belongs to Gypsy and their motion to have it admitted into evidence was denied.
That camera belonged to Dee Dee.
If there is nothing to hide, why deny the request?
