We don't engage in drama. 
This is about justice for Dee Dee Blanchard and securing a fair trial for Nicholas Godejohn, not fuelling other people's need for attention.
And we don't appreciate bullying.

Sorry to have to share this information with you, but we wont have our work claimed by someone who is looking for a level of importance within our community they do not deserve, at our expense.

In 2009, Dee Dee and Gypsy enjoyed an extended weekend vacation at the Stills Water Resort, Branson, Missouri, courtesy of The University of Table Rock Lake Foundation, a wonderful charitable organisation which helped children with cancer and other life threatening illnesses, 'feel better', run by a retired, disabled army major and cancer survivor.
This was a particularly upsetting deep dive; many of the really sick children featured enjoying their holiday experience, later passed which was heartbreaking to see recorded.

When Dee Dee and Gypsy took this vacation, Gypsy did not have cancer or a life-threatening illness, and she was not 13 years old - (as recorded in the undated news report seen below) - she was 18 years old.
Gypsy had no moral or legal right to this vacation.
Did Dee Dee believe Gypsy had a life-threatening illness at that time? Given all the things that were legitimately wrong with Gypsy, we think, probably, yes, but that doesn't justify lying about Gypsy's age and health to snatch up a holiday intended for a sick child.
We know Dee Dee lied and conned to benefit Gypsy, not herself, but this is fraud at its very, very worst.
But we hold Gypsy equally accountable.
In our opinion, Gypsy always knew how old she was, and if she was unhappy with things that were going on she had many options available to her to quit.
Instead, adult Gypsy sat back controlling and manipulating her 'tired legs'.
She smiled.
She gushed.
And her eyes, 'shined'. 

               "I would never kill somebody. I would never physically go through with killing somebody. I can't" (Gypsy, 2018)

In November 2009, FOX4 news reporter, Meryl Lin McKean, covered a story on the Angel Flight service.
It just so happened that on the day McKean interviewed one of Angel Flight's pilots about his work for the report, Dee Dee and Gypsy were passengers on his flight.

​Dee Dee spoke to the reporter about leaving Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina, revealing that, "I had my dress on and Gyp had her clothes on and that was about it". (Fox4kc, Stephanie Graflage, June 16th 2015).
Gypsy told the reporter that she was 14 and that they used the Angel Flight services, free of charge, every other month or so.
​Gypsy was 18.
The article states, "At that time, her mother (Dee Dee) only wanted FOX 4 to say that Gypsy Rose had “multiple medical challenges.” (Fox4kc, Stephanie Graflage, June 16th, 2015).

​At the time of the above interview, Gypsy knew full well she was 18.

Early interviews in which Gypsy talked about Daniel (known as 'Dan') Glidewell were skipped over to say the very least, and were given with as little information as possible making them seem almost irrelevant and unimportant to the case. In fact, any recollection involving a man, or, a 'friend', as Gypsy liked to call them, pre Nick, had no relevance to the case whatsoever in Gypsy's world, because, don't you know, Gypsy was a sweet, innocent virgin when she met murderous Victor, the 500 year old vampire masquerading as Nicholas Godejohn, in 2012.
According to Daniel Thomas Glidewell, that threshold had been crossed way before Gypsy met Nick. 

It is very interesting to note that for almost a decade the overriding belief had been that Gypsy's 'Dan' was a man called Daniel Dewitt Glidewell, an untruth allegedly put out into the public domain by the Gypsy train.
Daniel Dewitt Glidewell certainly fit the bill for someone capable of being involved in Dee Dee's murder; we have seen a video of him threatening to cut a man's throat free of charge, however, Daniel Dewitt Glidewell has NO connection to Gypsy Rose Blanchard. None whatsoever. He can't even be placed as having ever been to Springfield, and there has never been any physical proof that this Dan knew, or was in a relationship with, Gypsy.

​We can only surmise that it suited the Gypsy train to keep the real Dan Glidewell out of the picture, and what better way to enable this than to release information about a violent man with a long, drug-related criminal history, who is about the same age and has the same surname as the real Dan.
Daniel Dewitt Glidewell has never once spoken out to proclaim his innocence.
Maybe he enjoyed the notoriety. Or ..
Nice car Dan.
How did the plans to invest in crypto currency go?
And where did the money come from? 

The man on the right is not the Daniel Glidewell associated with Gypsy Rose Blanchard.

Up until August 2024, we had assumed, like the vast majority of people following this case, that the real Dan Glidewell was Daniel Dewitt Glidewell.
He wasn't. 
A few people had been trying to debunk the Daniel Dewitt Glidewell theory for quite sometime before it was brought to our attention. One group in particular, NPG: Cornerstone Nation a group who work with and support Nicholas Godejohn, released an image of the real Dan hidden, but not hidden, in one of their videos way back in early March, 2024. (See image on the right).
​Apparently, the real Dan Glidewell was pitched to quite a few top content creators associated with the case.
They weren't interested.
​Interesting.

We started researching Daniel Thomas Glidewell in August, 2024.
Just over a week later we were able to positively link him to Gypsy.
How did it only take us just over a week to publicly debunk, with photographic evidence, a lie that had been floated around for years?
That is strange.

In 2017, Gypsy revealed, "The first time I ran away from home, I had met a 'friend', aka Dan Glidewell. We both went to this sci-fi fantasy convention called VisionCon". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017). 
According to Gypsy, she met her 'friend', aka Dan Glidewell, at a VisionCon event and 'ran away' with him in 2011.
That was about all the details we were given by Gypsy about said 'friend', aka Dan Glidewell.
Nothing else to see here, folks.

After the real Dan had been outed, Gypsy attempted a Disneyesque take on the story, claiming that she, the victim (of course), had believed Dan Glidewell to be her knight in shining armour, sent to 'rescue her' from the clutches of her evil and suffocating mother. 
We've yet to see a clip in a Disney film where the damsel in distress sends "naked images of herself, including images of her masturbating with a toothbrush" to her knight in shining armour.

Between 2009 and 2013, Dee Dee and Gypsy were regular visitors at VisionCon, an annual gaming convention held in Springfield.
David Blanchard, Dee Dee and Gypsy's 'friend', worked security at the event, an event considered child-friendly.
Knives, daggers, swords, and clothing and accessories related to BDSM and role playing were openly sold at the event.
We wonder what children made of the 'slave auction'?

​VisionCon 2009 was held between January 23rd - 25th at The Clarion Hotel in Springfield, and both Dee Dee and 17 year old Gypsy attended.
At some point during the busy event, Gypsy, who Dee Dee apparently never let out of her sight, somehow managed to escape her mother's umbilical cord and wheel herself away through the lengthy corridors of the Clarion hotel.
Dee Dee, noticing Gypsy was missing, managed to track her down.
To a man's hotel room.
Where she allegedly discovered Gypsy in a state of undress.
Dee Dee reacted pretty much the same as any mother would if they found their daughter, who looks about 12 years old in photos taken at the event, half-undressed and alone in a hotel room with a much older, unknown man.
In the ruckus that followed, Gypsy willingly left the room with Dee Dee. 
The man in the hotel room has never been publicly named.
Information forwarded to Megan J Pack, who reported on the crime in June 2015, claims he was subsequently 'punished', because it was believed by VisionCon staff that Gypsy was a minor. 
Gypsy has never spoken about this episode or even acknowledged that it happened. 
She wouldn't, would she.

As a young adult, it was perfectly normal for Gypsy to want to explore intimacy with a partner, but from Dee Dee's perspective, what kind of a man shows a sexual interest in what appears to be a wheelchair-bound, sick child? 
For us, this episode signified the starting point of the dissolution of the 'perfect mother-daughter' relationship, and the battle of wills began.

We know for a fact that Daniel Thomas Glidewell was present at VisionCon 2009, because we found images of him at the event, but we cannot find any evidence to suggest that this was when he first crossed paths with Gypsy.
It doesn't mean Dan wasn't the man in the hotel room, it only means we cannot currently prove it.

The only direct links we have between Dan and Dee Dee's murder is what Nicholas Godejohn said when he was left alone in the police interview room - “I apologise to everyone. Everyone out here. Everyone except for Dan. Dan’s the only one I will not apologise to”, and to Gypsy admitting during her interview that, “I only know 3 numbers off hand. The only ones I know are my mum’s number, Nick’s number, that just got arrested, and my friend Dan's number, but we’re not on good speaking terms”.
Gypsy feeling the need to say that her and Dan were not on good speaking terms, cries out that they were, but that's not evidence enough to fully out a man who may have had nothing to do with the actual crime, and for that reason we will only present information based upon its possible relevance to the case, but our investigations continue, and so our current stance may change.
Unfortunately, if Dan is not prepared to reveal the real truth, he may well find there are others who won't extend him our current courtesy, and will expose everything and anything related to him, regardless.

Some of Dan Thomas Glidewell's close friends from the period relevant to the case, opened up and shared a fair bit of information about Dan and his relationship with Gypsy. (September 2024).
We have seen these conversations in full, but out of respect for requests to remain anonymous, we will only share information which works both to be informative whilst also serving to help keep individual identities concealed.
It is claimed that Dan is 'pissed off' at being outed.
We are 'pissed off' that he wasn't outed sooner.
We are 'pissed off' that Dan didn't step up and potentially destroy Gypsy's plea deal.
We are 'pissed off' that Dan wasn't prepared to step up and present the evidence he gave at Nick's 2022 appeal hearing, at Nick's 2018 trial.

​Dan's friends do not believe Dan played a role in Dee Dee's murder.
We're not so sure.
Maybe not in the physical act, but we are definitely of the opinion that he could shed more light on this case.
We know that at least three of Dan's friends who were spoken to have been 'liberal' with the truth, if not all of them. 
We've also seen Dan's 2014 bankruptcy documents.
Just under a year before Dee Dee's murder, ​Dan was homeless, penniless and jobless.
In 2015, Dan found the funds to build himself a tiny home. 
After Gypsy was arrested, funds appear to have dried up, and Dan sought financial help to move his tiny home from Arkansas to Springfield.
This may be all coincidental. 
​Then again, it might not.

Footnote. We were only involved in the interactions with Dan's friends as shown on this page. We/I flew/fled that nest shortly after they had taken place.
We have been shown later conversations with new sources in full, but we will not play a role in sharing information provided by vulnerable people who admit to placing their safety at risk by providing it and who request payment for said information, or from scared women who are hassled into face to face meetings in order to provide information about Daniel Glidewell.

Before we move forward with Dan, we first need to quash the misinformation put out there by the Gypsy train that Gypsy didn't know how old she was.
In our opinion, Gypsy always knew exactly how old she was.

A 2016 Buzz Feed article which interviewed Rod, states, "When Rod called Gypsy to talk on her 18th birthday, he said he was excited to make all the jokes dads make to their daughters about becoming an adult. But Dee Dee intercepted the call, he said, to remind him that Gypsy didn’t know her true age. “She thinks she’s 14,” Dee Dee said. She asked that he not upset Gypsy by claiming otherwise. Rod heeded the instruction". (Michelle Dean, Buzz Feed News, August 19th, 2016).
What father, without question, suspicion, alarm, anger and/or outrage, would heed that instruction?

In 2019, Rod again recalls the day of Gypsy's 18th birthday, "Dee Dee didn't want me to talk to her (Gypsy). Well, she wanted me to tell her 'Happy birthday', but she didn't want me to tell her, 'Happy 18th birthday'. So like, 'Why not? It's her 18th birthday, it's a big day', you know. She's like, 'Well she don't really know that she's 18'. I thought that was weird. I thought it was just mind blowing to think that she would not want her to know that she's 18". (The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2019).
If what Rod says is true, it obviously wasn't mind blowing enough for him to do anything about it.

Dee Dee took many photos of Gypsy celebrating her birthday. With cake. And candles. And pomp. And circumstance.
In one of the photos seen below, Gypsy is clearly blowing out eleven candles on her birthday cake. 
Gypsy's birthday photos seem to stop when Gypsy hit her teenage years. Why? Because Dee Dee didn't want Gypsy to know how old she was, or because the keepers of the photos want us to believe Gypsy didn't know how old she was?

We accept that not everyone knew Gypsy's age, but Gypsy did, for sure. 
And here's how we know -
​On 26th October 2009, an anonymous call was made to the Missouri Child Abuse Hotline regarding Dee Dee and Gypsy. The caller made several allegations along the lines of, Dee Dee was claiming Gypsy had medical issues she didn't have, Gypsy was a victim of Munchausen By Proxy, Dee Dee was using Gypsy to obtain funds, Dee Dee was lying about Gypsy's age, Dee Dee was lying about being a victim of hurricane Katrina. 
Dr Steele, takes credit for making the call, but there's no evidence as to who made it.
If it was Dr Steele then it's bewildering that a doctor didn't report his grave concerns openly, directly, forcefully, to CPS and the police, instead opting for the delayed response and anonymity of a tip-off to a hotline.

In response to the call, a Green County sheriff's deputy visited Dee Dee and Gypsy's home, along with two women from the Social Services Children's Division. The purpose of the visit, recorded as a 'suspected kidnapping', was to check that Gypsy was not an endangered runaway or a missing juvenile, and that Dee Dee was Gypsy's biological mother. 
The police officer and the social workers met with and spoke to both Dee Dee and Gypsy, and satisfied themselves all was well and that Gypsy's needs were being met.
The police record states that the deputy determined Gypsy had some kind of 'mental handicap'. Maybe Gypsy role-played the small child act she puts on when faced with potential danger, and the sheriff misinterpreted an 18 year old adult acting like a 12 year old child as a 'mental handicap'. 
During the visit, Dee Dee produced both Gypsy's birth certificate and her ID.
The sheriff's deputy, Deputy Green, recorded that it was determined that, "Gypsy was 18 years of age". 
And we are supposed to believe that Gypsy wasn't witness to any of this?
Where was she?
Hiding out in the bathroom? 
Gypsy claims in her absolute nonsensical 'memoir', 'My Time To Stand' and keep up the pretence', that the visitors took Dee Dee outside to be spoken to, whilst she was taken into her bedroom.
​Seriously?
Then how was Gypsy able to later report that Dee Dee was, 'very nervous' throughout the visit, saying she was visibly shaking, which Gypsy attributes to Dee Dee's fear of being discovered lying about Gypsy's age?
The report records that Dee Dee didn't deny that she had changed Gypsy's information, explaining that she had done so following her divorce from a "bad marriage" so that her ex husband, whom she feared, couldn't find them.
Who's to say that isn't true?
We still don't know the full extent of Rod's alcohol and substance abuse issues when he was with Dee Dee. 
Gypsy's gibberish aside, if 18 year old Gypsy didn't know her age prior to this visit, we can say without any shadow of a reasonable doubt, that she couldn't have failed to register how old she was during it.

According to Gypsy's 2015 attorney and current manager, Mike Stanfield, "Dee Dee did exactly what she does all the time - she manipulated the police officers, showed them a few things, and they left". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
No.
Dee Dee welcomed the visitors in, provided the documents they requested to see, and they left.
Where is the manipulation in that?

Dr Phil states that as a result of this visit, Gypsy, "Finally learned the truth about her real age, she was 19 not 15, and that's when she rebelled." (The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2019).
No Dr Phil, Gypsy was 18, and it's safe to say the ship of rebellion had left port 8 months earlier, when Gypsy was caught canoodling with a man in his hotel room.

In 2018, Gypsy claimed, “It was about a good span of time between, I want to say, 2001 to 2015, that I really wasn't sure of my age.” (ABC News Report, January 4th, 2018).
That is a lie.
Gypsy also alleges that she found out how old she was in 2010 when she was 19 - (Gypsy) "I think I started to piece things together when I came across a Medicaid card, I was actually 19 at the time, not 15". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
Make no mistake, at the close of day on 26th October 2009, Gypsy knew how old she was. 18.

Gypsy refers to 2009 as, "A rough year. I call that the "bad times". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
If that is true, then why, on 26th October, 2009, didn't Gypsy request to speak to the police officer or the the two CPS officers, in private, as was her right as an adult, explain what the 'bad times' were, and ask to be taken to a woman's shelter?
Dr Phil directly asked Gypsy this question, and in response she said, "At that time, I didn't think that I was being abused. I didn't understand. There was nothing that made me question my life". (The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2019).
So why was 2009 a rough year then?
Gypsy embellishes this claim by saying she hadn't started 'rebelling' at that point.
Man. Hotel room. State of undress. 

Rod tries to convince us that Dee Dee lied to Gypsy about her age because, "Dee Dee had so much to lose about letting her understand she (Gypsy) was 18, you know. She knows that Gypsy could have just got up and walked out". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
On 26th October, 2009, Gypsy knew she was 18 years old, but when faced with the opportunity to get up and walk out, Gypsy didn't take it, maybe because she, Gypsy, had so much to lose if she did.

So why didn't Gypsy leave when she was 18?
​In our opinion, Gypsy didn't leave because she was perfectly happy and comfortable reaping the rewards of the scam she was invested in.

​This allegedly wasn't Dee Dee's first encounter with the Child's Protective Services. A friend of Dee Dee's claims in a Facebook post dated 16th June 2015, that CPS contacted her about Dee Dee and Gypsy when they were both living in Louisiana, but doesn't provide any further information.

In 2010, Dee Dee and 'never went anywhere, wasn't allowed to leave the house, have any friends or a social life' Gypsy, attended VisionCon for the second year running, this time with her cat.

What a terribly sheltered life, abused and imprisoned Gypsy Rose Blanchard led.
Even her cat got to go places.

Looking back on the events of VisionCon 2009, the mystery man in the hotel room, who was 'punished', must have surely protested his innocence when accused of inappropriate behaviour with a paraplegic minor.
"But she's 17 and she can walk!". 
Dee Dee must have surely spoken to her 'friend', David Blanchard, or his wife, Kimberly, who both worked at the event, about the older man trying to take advantage of her vulnerable child.
"Hey, come on Dee Dee. We both know Gypsy's 17 and can walk".
Apparently not, because at VisionCon 2010, Gypsy was rewarded with an honorary membership to 'Squad 66', an official squad of the 70th Explorers Garrison (a branch of the 501st Legion), a group with strong links to VisionCon.
"Squad 66 gained it's first Honorary Squad member, Gypsy Rose Blancharde. There was not a dry eye in the crowd at the closing ceremonies as the little girl with such a big heart gave her momentous acceptance speech." (70th Explorers, 26th January, 2010).
(The 501st Legion are a group of Star Wars enthusiasts who dress up as characters from Star Wars and attend events to raise money for charity). 

'Little girl' Gypsy was rapidly approaching her 19th birthday at the time of this presentation.
And nobody employed at VisionCon knew her real age?
David Blanchard, who was about to step up to the role of president of the organisation, and was also a member of Squad 66 and the 501st Legion, as well as being 'friends' with Dee Dee and Gypsy, didn't know?
There is a limit to the suspension of belief.
If people knew - and come on, they knew - then what exactly is Gypsy being rewarded for? 
Bad behavior? 

As far as is known, Dee Dee didn't run into any 'Gypsy' problems at VisionCon 2010. 
Or perhaps Gypsy, captured on video at the VisionCon 2010 after party decked out in a pink wig, screeching into the camera whilst wheelchair dancing, 'It's my party wig!', was more careful not to get caught.
In Gypsy's ghastly book, 'Conversations On The Eve Of Freedom', we are introduced to Dee Dee's list of 'rules'. Apparently rule number two was, “Don't seem overly happy or excited because sick people don't have that kind of energy“.
​The video mentioned above clearly debunks that lie, animated Gypsy is.
We are unable to place Dan Glidewell at VisionCon 2010, but we do know that the mother of Dan's first child, was present, and was aware of who Gypsy was.

In late February 2011, Dee Dee and 19 year old Gypsy attend VisionCon again, and Gypsy receives yet another award, when she is presented with a lifetime membership to the annual event for herself and Dee Dee.
This girl can do no wrong. 

Meagan J Pack covered Dee Dee's murder practically from day one, and amassed a lot of information from people associated with Dee Dee and Gypsy.
One such person contacted Megan Pack, claiming that Gypsy had been hitting on 'Men in their 30s and 40s' from the VisionCon community, but said these men had rebuffed Gypsy's advances.
Hitting on them? More like sexually propositioning them.
Official court documents released in 2025 following a FOIA request reveal Gypsy admitting in a Facebook message to Dan that in 2010 and 2011 she sent 4 men, aged between 35 and 50, topless photos of herself and told them she would have sex with them. (Source: Into The Weeds Podcast).
Is this the bad behavior Gypsy was being rewarded for?
David Blanchard was born in 1973.
Just saying.

The source who spoke to Megan J Pack in 2015 also revealed in Dan, a, 'kinda ladies man', met Gypsy at a VisionCon event, and the pair discussed dating.
From what we have seen reported by some of Dan's friends, a 'kinda ladies man' is an understatement.
One friend even referred to Dan as a, 'man slut'.
The source says that Gypsy told Dan she was 18 when she met him - suggesting she met Dan in 2009 or 2010.
Gypsy also told Dan, 'She was older than everyone thought'.
It would be appear that a whole lot of people associated with VisionCon knew Gypsy 'was older than everyone thought'. 
All except for David Blanchard and his wife, Kimberly, of course, both of whom were fully immersed in the running of the event.
Kimberley Blanchard was interviewed in the days following Dee Dee's murder. She said of Dee Dee, "She gave everything. She gave of herself." (Springfield News Leader, 17th June, 2015).
So how about you start telling the real story Kim? 

It's whilst attending VisionCon 2011, that Gypsy claims she met her 'friend' Dan Glidewell, a then 36 year old father of two children, who was on probation for drug related offences. 
Gypsy alleges, ​“I told him (Her 'friend', Dan) vaguely about what was going on at home. He told me, you know, um, ‘You just pack your stuff, um, and um, come live with me in Arkansas. And I said, “Okay”. (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
As you do.
Rod's recollections of Dan suggests there was nothing 'vague' about it, "She (Gypsy) had met this guy (Dan) at this sci-fi convention, and she told him what was going on. That she was trying to get away from her mom and she needed some help," (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).

David Blanchard is recorded in a 2015 Police Supplemental report made following Gypsy's arrest as telling a deputy, "In 2011, Gypsy had arranged to meet a man at VisionCon, and the man had convinced her to steal money from her mother's purse and run away with him". (Dated 14th June, 2015). 
So David Blanchard knew all about that, but claimed post murder that he didn't know Gypsy could walk?
Did he think Gypsy was planning to 'run away' in her wheelchair?
The 'man' David Blanchard was referring to in the report was Daniel Thomas Glidewell.
And the question of who convinced who to do what, is debatable.

In 2018, Gypsy recalls, “I trusted him (Her 'friend', Dan) a little bit, enough to run away from home. He didn't have a place of his own, so he was staying with a friend”. (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
We're guessing the money from Dee Dee's purse would be a great help with that 'no place of his own situation', wouldn't it just. 

In a June 2025 TikTok live, up popped Kristy Blanchard, uninvited, who, in between continuing to slaughter Dee Dee Blanchard, admitted to knowing Gypsy had a penchant for older men; (Kristy) "I'm thinking, well, she's (Gypsy) 18, she likes older guys, you know, not thinking nothing of it because I didn't know she was living how she was living. Rod alleges that he called Dee Dee on her 18th birthday and was asked by Dee Dee to not advise Gypsy that she was 18.
Kristy admitted to knowing all along Gypsy could walk.
Dee Dee (or Gypsy) kept up a running commentary of wheelchair bound Gypsy's issues on their joint Facebook page.
But Kristy Blanchard didn't have a 'freaking' clue that anything was going on?
The truth is, Kristy Blanchard didn't care what was going on.

Gypsy has always claimed that she was 'too afraid' to reach out to anyone for help, but clearly Gypsy did reach out.
Gypsy reached out to men.
​And some men took the bait.
We discovered the pictures of Gypsy on your immediate right on an old VisionCon website. They were taken at a 2010 VisionCon event known as 'Masquerade'.
Gypsy is all but toothless and looks 12 years old, if that.

David and Kimberly Blanchard claim they didn't meet Dee Dee and Gypsy until they attended their first VisionCon event in 2009. 
In 2006, Dee Dee and Gypsy were living in Aurora, situated about 30 miles from Springfield. 
The final image below was taken from the VisionCon 2008 forum. 
It may just be a coincidence that one of the members, a woman who had been a member since 2006, was called Dee Dee.

What is clear to us is, people are lying.
​We just need to figure out why.

In May 2010, Dee Dee and Gypsy jet off to Walt Disney World Florida, courtesy of the children's charity, the 'Make A Wish' foundation.
Gypsy was almost 19 years old.

The eligibility criteria for referral to the Make A wish Foundation as of June 2010, included -
The child must be diagnosed with a critical illness, i.e., a progressive, degenerative or malignant condition that is placing the child's life in jeopardy. (Gypsy's chromosome disorder hadn't been determined in 2010, it was only suspected).
The child must be older than 2½ years and younger than 18.
The child must not have received a wish from another wish-granting organization.
If the above criteria were met, the foundation would have contacted the child's treating physician to determine whether the child was medically eligible for a wish.
Referrals would have been accepted from -
A medical professional treating the child.
A parent or legal guardian of the child.
The wish child.

We don't know who referred Gypsy to the Make A Wish foundation, or which treating physician confirmed her eligibility, but what we do Dee Dee and Gypsy visited Disney World in 2003 courtesy of the Children's Wish Endowment, Slidell, Louisiana, which means they failed to meet the criteria of eligibility for the Make A Wish Foundation;  'The child must not have received a wish from another wish-granting organization'.

Megan J Pack began an online blog about the case within days of Dee Dee's body being discovered in June 2015.

In 2015, Ms Pack voiced the opinion that Gypsy and Nick were equally responsible for Dee Dee's murder, and she wasn't sold on the Munchausen theory.
In a 2023 X post, Ms Pack wishes Gypsy, "nothing but the best for you".
In a 2024 X post, Ms Pack congratulates Gypsy on news of her pregnancy.
In another 2023 X post, Ms Pack refers to herself as an "expert" on the case.

Dan Glidewell claims in a message he sent to a friend in 2024 from his authenticated Facebook profile, that he didn't agree to 'run away' with Gypsy.
Conversely, one of Dan's friends says Dan was going to go to Arkansas with Gypsy, but there's a big difference between 'go' and 'run away'.
For the record, adults leave home, they don't 'run away from home', unless they're trying appear small and vulnerable and child-like, which Gypsy does.
A lot.
In our opinion, based on our research, Gypsy did not 'run away' on the night of Thursday 21st April, 2011.
​Instead, plain and simple, Gypsy went to see Dan. 
Interestingly, Gypsy publicly revealed the date she 'ran away' after we had already reported on it.
​Damage limitation?

Gypsy has always led us to believe that the control and abuse she allegedly suffered at home precipitated her 'running away', but evidence and facts dictate that Gypsy didn't 'run away', Gypsy 'went to see', because on the night Gypsy alleges she 'ran away', Dan was lying in a hospital bed in Springfield, nursing injuries following a bar fight. 
If you were planning to run away from home, would you do it when the person you're running away with is lying beaten up in a hospital bed?
It doesn't really sound feasible that a man allegedly beaten up by 3 men, hospitalised with a broken back, would be asking any girl to run away with him.
It doesn't even sound like 'running' was something Dan would have been physically capable of.
In her 2024 'memoir' Gypsy is still stuck like glue to the 'running away' myth, even though it's patently obvious she 'went to see'. 

​In 2017, Gypsy says, "I stepped out, got a ride from a stranger, and went over to his place". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017). 
At Nick's trial in 2018, Gypsy simply says, "I left the house and I met up with one of my 'friends' ".
But Gypsy didn't run to 'his place', Gypsy ran to Dan's hospital bed.
According to one of Megan J Pack's reliable sources, 'maiden in distress' Gypsy took off to the hospital with a $1,000 dollars of Dee Dee's money and a bottle of Oxycodone, an opioid pain medication. 
Dan may well have welcomed some strong pain medication. What better way to reel in him?
Dan alleges in official court documents released in 2025 following a FOIA request, that he invited Gypsy to go to the hospital because he was in pain and needed 'comforting'. 
Did he need comfort from Gypsy, or comfort from Oxycodone?
Dan claims in an official court document that Gypsy arrived at the hospital with,  'a very large suitcase and 'a 3 ring binder of multiple forms of identification to prove she was over 18 years old'.
Gypsy - “It was about a good span of time between, I want to say, 2001 to 2015, that I really wasn't sure of my age.” (ABC News Report, January 4th, 2018).
Repeat, 'multiple forms of identification'.

It has been floated around that Dee Dee, aware of an ongoing relationship of sorts between Gypsy and Dan, may have arranged for Dan to be beaten up that night, or that Dan's beating was a direct consequence of his relationship with Gypsy.
We have found no evidence to support a theory that Dee Dee instigated the assault on Dan.
A friend of Dan's claims the beating was a result of Dan's relationship with a different woman he was involved with.
We know that Dan was a semi-pro Muay Thai fighter, which likely explains why it took three men to over power him that night, and 'bounce him around on his head like a pogo stick'.
(Chats seen on the right and below are taken from 2024 interactions with four friends of Dan's, all of whom knew Dan in the years leading up to Dee Dee's murder).

Dan's mother and her partner did live in Arkansas, on a farm - Dan's stepmother somewhat coincidentally made a Facebook post in the days following Dee Dee's murder about her goat, Gypsy's, triplets, with a reference to, '​disabled folks' -   but Dan also had a son in Springfield, who was born in 2011, and was just over 2 months old when Gypsy 'ran away'.
Dan also had a daughter born in 2002 to a different woman. (But apparently he wouldn't learn he was the father of this child until many years later).
Would it be likely that Dan would be willing to abandon his young son and his life in Springfield to start a new life 300+ miles away in Arkansas, with Gypsy, a girl almost half his age with genuine health conditions?
It's possible. Dan would later dispute the paternity of his son, so maybe Dan was looking to flee the difficulties surrounding that.
Dan was also married, but separated, from a woman he didn't have any children with.
But Dan was on probation when he claims he met Gypsy, which ruled out leaving Missouri.
In short, Dan's life was a bit of a mess.
Dan was actually the one who needed rescuing.

Here's what we think.
It has been claimed by two of Dan's friends that Dan didn't consider himself to be in a romantic relationship with Gypsy, although Dan acknowledged, in a court of law, that there was a sexual one.
It has also been claimed that Gypsy was besotted with Dan, a claim Gypsy supports.
In our opinion, Dan's beating suggests time out from Springfield was very likely a good idea, but that may well have been an idea planted in Dan's head by opportunistic Gypsy, desperate herself to escape the conflict at home created by her obsession with a man old enough to be her father.
If there's one thing a narcissistic sociopath like Gypsy doesn't like hearing, it's the word 'no', and we bet Gypsy was hearing that a'plenty at home. 
If there are two things a man with a criminal conviction for possession of and dealing drugs, off work with a broken back, couch-surfing, likes to hear, it's, 'I have $1,000' and 'I have a medicine cabinet at home brimming over with prescription pain medication'.
But there's little evidence to suggest that moving to Arkansas was the plan for that night.
 
Gypsy is being honest, but liberal with the truth, when she says she ‘got a ride from a stranger,’ which kind of suggests she may have hitchhiked her way to Dan.
In reality, Gypsy walked about 3 blocks from her house - seemingly unconcerned that anyone from her neighbourhood would see her walking - before knocking on the door of a complete stranger’s house and asking them if they could give her a ride to the hospital to see her sick boyfriend, which somewhat bizarrely, they agree to do. 
The 'complete stranger' then takes Gypsy to the hospital, and at some stage a beaten up or beaten down, Dan, hobbles out of the hospital with just about what he likely didn't need at that particular moment in time, Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
And if Dan thought that was bad, little did he know, 'overprotective' Dee Dee Blanchard, was hot on Gypsy's trail.

It's worth noting that statements have been made by people living in Gypsy's community, that Gypsy was often seen out and about, minus her wheelchair and minus Dee Dee, but because Gypsy was offered and accepted a plea deal, she avoided a trial, so these statements never saw the light of day in a court of law.
They need to.
In 2017, Dr Phil asked Gypsy, "Did your mother ever catch you walking?"
Gypsy replies, "A couple times".
(Dr Phil) "What did she do?"
(Gypsy) "She got so upset with me. She would punish me so bad. Like, she started hitting me with a coat hanger and telling me all kinds of mean things". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
In the same interview, Gypsy says of Nick, who she first starts talking to 3 years after meeting Dan, "He (Nick) was the first person I ever told I could walk". (Mother Knows Best, 2007).
Oh Dr Phil, you so got played.
We all got played.
It goes without saying that Dan knew Gypsy could walk.
It goes without saying that a lot of people knew Gypsy could walk.

The wife of the man who gave Gypsy a ride to the hospital contacted Meaghan Pack and informed her that Gypsy had "begged" her husband for a lift to Mercy hospital to see a beaten up Dan.
Yeah, you heard right. Mercy hospital. Gypsy's literal second home, where Dr.'s Steele and Flasterstein treated her, and labelled her, a victim of Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy, and there was their 'victim' casually strolling through the darkened corridors of their hospital in the middle of the night, wigged-up, clutching opioid medication and a wad of Dee Dee's cash, to meet up with her 'boyfriend', who was twice her age and in violation of his parole conditions having been in a fight.
What have you got to say about your victim of Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy now Dr Marc Feldman? 

Gypsy was asked in In 2018, "Did you ever consider in a public place, if you stood up out of your wheelchair and walked, Dee Dee's fraud would be completely exposed?" Gypsy answered, "I honestly didn't think about that".
(Interviewer) "It never crossed your mind?"
(Gypsy) "No". (Gypsy's Truth And Lies, 2018).

​Fast forward to Gypsy's next book, 'The first person I ever told I could walk was Donald Duck ...' 
Gypsy also alleges in, 'Conversations On The Eve Of Freedom' aka 'Weekly Prison Phone Calls Over A 5 year Period',  that Dan Glidewell believed she was 15 when they met.
​Are you happy to run with that Dan?
Are you happy for your children to accept that as an undisputed 'truth'?

​Gypsy tells us, "Within like 4 hours, my mum found me at his (Dan's) place, because we had mutual friends in common. So she was threatening to call the cops on him." (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).  
In 2018, Gypsy claims it was friends Dan was staying with who, "Called my mom and my mom came to get me". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
In 2024, Gypsy changes her story entirely, "That night, my mother had awoken probably about 4 o'clock in the morning, noticed that I wasn't there. She then goes to look around the house, and my cell phone fell out of my back pack (As if). So she sees the messages between me and Dan, and she instantly knows who I'm with. Then she begins to call their mutual friends from the convention (What? At 4 o'clock in the morning?) and one of them told my mother where I was". (The Prison Confessions, 2024). 
Two conflicting stories given by the same person about one single event.

A tenant staying at the house Gypsy was taken to contacted Meagan J Pack in 2015, and told her that Dee Dee had turned up at the house threatening Dan with legal action on the grounds that Gypsy was a minor, but the source said that Gypsy had ID to prove she was an adult. 
Gypsy told people at the house that Dee Dee was controlling, and the tenant says Dee Dee and Gypsy had got into a 'heated argument' before leaving.
Note that Gypsy described Dee Dee as, 'controlling', not 'abusive'. 
Removing your young, sick daughter from the arms of a beaten-up, much older married, man with 2 (possibly 3) children - neither borne by his wife and each with a different mother - and a drug-related criminal history, who was on probation and all but homeless, cannot be considered 'controlling behaviour' by any stretch of the imagination. 
It has to be said, 'Great work, Dee Dee'.

Another tenant at the house, who has reported vastly conflicting stories over the years, was contacted in 2024 and was willing to speak about Dan. This source ended the communication when they were asked why they had tagged a 'Gypsy Rose' in a 2011 Facebook post that mentioned, 'Fetlife.com'. 
Fetlife.com is a social networking website that serves people interested in BDSM, fetishism, and kink.
Gypsy claims that not only did Nicholas Godejohn introduce her to BDSM, BDSM was something she had 'never heard of before meeting him in October 2012..
Are we supposed to believe Gypsy was randomly, out of nowhere, steered in the direction of a full-on BDSM website in 2011?

Gypsy herself reveals little about what happened in the alleged 'four hours' she says she spent with Dan.
According to Aleah Woodmansee, Gypsy's neighbour, Gypsy told her, "Can I tell u a secret, back in 2011. I ran away from home I met a pedtifile online ... He took me back to his friends place and made me sleep in his bed but when he got handy I freaked out". (Source: Megan J Pack, Thought Catalogue, 2015).... 'Freaked out' but didn't leave until Dee Dee arrived hours later?
Four years later, Gypsy 'forgets' she has told that story, and says it was Dan who freaked out, when Dee Dee, "Told him (Dan) that I was 15, so he freaked out because he was 36 at the time". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2019).
Dan knew exactly how old Gypsy was.
Dan more than likely 'freaked out' because he was on probation and didn't want the police involved.
Gypsy finally admitted in 2024 that she wasn't a virgin when she met Nicholas Godejohn.
​This information was only forthcoming after most of us had worked that out for ourselves, thank you very much Gyp, Gyp.

The facts are, Dan knew Gypsy was of legal age.
Gypsy knew she was of legal age. Gypsy knew Dan knew she was of legal age. Dan's friends knew Gypsy was of legal age.
They also knew in 2011 that she could walk.
But David and Kimberly Blanchard didn't?
If Gypsy had wanted to remain with Dan, she could have, and Dee Dee couldn't have done anything to prevent it.
Perhaps Gypsy was just too intimidated by Dee Dee to oppose her demands that she leave, which makes no sense at all given that she hadn't been (Rod's words) 'scared shitless' when it came to walking outside on her own in the middle of the night, or knocking on a complete stranger's door and asking them for a ride.
Even Ted Bundy had a door to knock on. 
In all honesty, Dan was probably pretty relieved when Gypsy and all the drama she brought with her left.

Gypsy promotes the idea that bad Dee Dee Blanchard, the monster lurking under every child's bed, didn't want her to find love, but stepping in and rescuing your daughter from predatory married men with children, is what mum's do. Wanting to subsequently face off with them in a car park with a hammer in your pocket, which is an event Dee Dee allegedly invited Dan to attend, is unacceptable, but somewhat understandable.
​It's what some father's would do, which In Gypsy's case was Rod, which in Gypsy's case was always Dee Dee.
Dee Dee wasn't denying Gypsy the freedom to find love. Dee Dee was vetting Gypsy's objects of desire, and was doing a damn good job at it. 

Dr Marc Feldman, he who diagnosed Dee Dee, a dead woman he had never met, with Munchausen By Proxy, describes Gypsy's life at home as, “The control was total, in the same sense that the control of a kidnapped victim sometimes is total. Her (Dee Dee) daughter was, in essence, a hostage, and I think we can understand the crime that occurred subsequently in terms of a hostage trying to gain escape”. (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
No Dr Feldman, we can't understand it.

With all due respect Dr Marc Feldman, sit the hell down.

(Extract below) In December 2024, Gypsy claimed in her 'example of how not to write a memoir, ('My Time To Stand' and throw Dan under the bus too), that she left Dee Dee a note before she 'ran away', as seen below, which totally contradicts what she reported in 'The Prison Confessions' where a note was never mentioned. She also reported to never hearing from Dan again. Maybe Dan didn't reply to her June 2015 offer to have sex with her a day after she killed her mother?
Gypsy also claims in the 'book', that Dee Dee was the one who labelled Dan a pedophile, but it was Gypsy who labelled Dan a 'pedtifile' in a message to Aleah Woodmansee. 

Dan Glidewell stated to a friend in a message sent from his authenticated Facebook account, "I testified in the hopes of getting Nick another trial". 
No Dan.
You were subpoenaed. 
Which is why you didn't step up to give evidence in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 or 2020.
You were also willing to sit back and watch a completely innocent 'Dan Glidewell' take the flack for being Gypsy Rose Blanchard's boyfriend and everything that came with it.
There has been a suggestion that we have prevented Dan Glidewell from speaking out because of the information we have shared about him.
Poppy cock.
Dan would no more willingly speak the truth anymore than David Blanchard would.
Someone we once researched with did have a brief conversation with Dan. (Seen on the right).
During the briefest of chats, Dan asked 6 questions. Dan had no intention of 'speaking out', rather, he was more interested in what the researcher knew. (Source: Trixielayne).
​And, 'didn't see her (Gypsy)', doesn't mean Dan didn't call Gypsy or write to Gypsy whilst she was incarcerated, only that he didn't 'see' her.

​Another newly released (2025) official court document reveals -
"He (Dan) would testify that they communicated by Facebook or cell phone. Gypsy switched her Facebook accounts and usernames often. During this time period they engaged in sexting and sent explicit content to one another. Gypsy knew what she was doing sexually. In contemplating having intercourse together, Gypsy told him that she did not need her wheelchair and could move around like any normal girl.
Gypsy sent him nude images of herself, including images of herself masturbating herself with a toothbrush.
He would testify that Dee Dee called him and told him to stay away from Gypsy, claiming she was underage, but Gypsy claimed she was 18 and had identification to prove her age. At one point he stopped communicating with her because of the age question. Gypsy continued to contact him, pleaded with him to stay in contact with her and continued to insist she was of age.  
Mr. Glidewell would testify that he sought treatment from Mercy hospital in Springfield after he was injured in a fall from a balcony. He would testify that he invited Gypsy to come meet him because he was in pain and wanted to be comforted. Gypsy arrived without her wheelchair and with a very large suitcase. She also had with her a 3 ring binder of multiple forms of identification to prove she was over 18 years old.
Mr. Glidewell would testify that his cousin, Stephen Faucett, drove them all the way back to Mr. Faucett's residence, where Gypsy spent the night. Mr. Faucett, Gina and another male were all present. Dan and Gypsy made plans for their future together. He would testify that the next morning, they woke up to find Gypsy's mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, in the house. Dee Dee claimed the identifications were wrong, Gypsy was was underage and told Dan to stay away". (Source: Into The Weeds Podcast). 

'Gypsy knew what she was doing sexually'.
Gypsy claimed in her 2024 memoir of lies, 'My Time To Stand' and not mention toothbrushes, that she was a virgin when she met Nicholas Godejohn in 2012. It sounds like Gypsy wasn't even a virgin when she met Dan Glidewell

'... where Gypsy spent the night ... He would testify that the next morning, they woke up to find Gypsy's mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, in the house'.
Gypsy claims she was only at Dan's house for 4 hours, but Dan's sworn testament suggests it was an overnight stay.
Gypsy also told Aleah Woodmansee that Dan was a 'pedtifile' who 'made me sleep in his bed'.
Oh really? 
'Gypsy sent him (Dan) nude images of herself, including images of herself masturbating herself with a toothbrush'.
The clock's ticking, Gyp.

​Gypsy reports that Dee Dee not only medically abused her, but physically abused her too, which she claims started in 2011.
(Gypsy) "She'd (Dee Dee) hit me with the coat hanger, or her, or her palm. And I'd have to take so many slaps for, depending on what, how severe it was I did". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Catching your daughter alone in a hotel room with a much older man in a compromising situation, doesn't appear to have particularly riled 'physically abusive' Dee Dee that much in 2009, as Gypsy doesn't mention any beatings with a coat hanger or slaps in that instance.
Finding out that your daughter has sent 4 men aged between 35 - 50 topless photos of yourself and offered to have sex with them, also doesn't seem to have driven Dee Dee to resort to physical violence in 2010. 

According to Kristy, who describes Dee Dee as, "Looking like Mother Teresa, when she was a devil". (Would You Kill My Mother For Me, 2022), Gypsy told her, "Her mom (Dee Dee) would bring her (Gypsy) in the bathroom and Dee Dee would watch her as she would slap her in the face, or hit her in the back." (Would You Kill My Mother For Me, 2022).
Weirdly enough, that's not an allegation Gypsy has ever made herself.
​It could be argued that a certain someone makes up allegations as they go along.

According to Dr Marc Feldman, "The level of control Dee Dee had would have involved physical punishment as well". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017). 
We know from research that Dee Dee Blanchard wasn't a woman to be messed with, allegedly threatening to fight Dan armed with a hammer and assaulting pizza delivery drivers left, right and centre, but it doesn't follow that every woman willing to physically stand up for herself and her child. physically abuses their offspring.
Dr Marc Feldman also interprets Dee Dee's habit of holding Gypsy's hand or putting her arm around as, "A way of asserting mastery over another person and saying, 'You're not free. You are under my control at all times' ". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017). 
Gypsy reinforces this concept, suggesting Dee Dee used things like hand holding to signal her to keep her mouth shut in front of doctors and people, but as many times as Dee Dee is seen to be holding Gypsy's hands, so equally Gypsy is seen to be the one holding Dee Dee's.

​A 2017 review of cases of Munchausen By Proxy reported 98% of abusers were women, and 96% were the victim's mothers.
​How easy it was to just slip Dee Dee Blanchard right in there.

Following Dee Dee rescuing Gypsy from Dan, Gypsy says Dee Dee took her back home and, (Gypsy) "Boy was I in a lot of trouble". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).

Before we examine Gypsy's many differing accounts of how she claims 'a lot of trouble' panned out, we would just like you to pause for a moment and take a look at the 2015 crime scene photo on the right of the 'tinted' window in Dee Dee's bedroom, the room in which Gypsy alleges she was held prisoner for 2 weeks, beginning on what we now know to be, Friday 22nd April, 2011.
This image will become relevant in the next section.

Before continuing, we would also like to draw your attention to the document seen on the right. (Source: The Good Wives' Network).
This document clearly shows that Dee Dee drafted a letter for power of attorney over Gypsy, but only to apply in circumstances whereby Gypsy was 'incapacitated'.
This letter was written with 22 year old Gypsy's consent and full approval.
The document is dated, 19th August, 2013.
It is clearly shown that power of attorney would not be granted.

Gypsy alleges that Dee Dee controlled all aspects of her life, including her surgeries this document clearly shows - "GypsyRose will plan to sign consents for herself".
​22 year old Gypsy is not only consenting to a guardianship in these documents, she is also consenting to surgery.

Gypsy claims that as soon as she arrived back home with Dee Dee from Dan's place of residence, horrific consequences followed. 
In 2017, Gypsy revealed that Dee Dee, "Smashed my computer with a hammer, smashed my cell phone with a hammer, and said, 'If you ever try to do that again, I’m going to smash your fingers with a hammer. She had taken this dog leash and, um, clipped it to a pair of handcuffs, and clipped the handcuffs to the bed and kept, it was like that for about 2 weeks. My mum had actually convinced a lawyer to draw up some papers saying that I was incompetent, so I thought if I had tried to go to the police, they'd look at these papers and say, 'she's retarded". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
It would be interesting to know how Dee Dee just happened to have a dog leash, given that she didn't have a dog, as well as a pair of handcuffs.
Who amongst us has a dog leash but no dog plus a pair of handcuffs?
Guardianship papers (POA) were not drafted until 2013, and they were drafted with Gypsy's full approval and consent, though not approved.
In an interview with 'People Magazine', given in 2014, a day before Gypsy's release from prison, 'reformed' Gypsy claimed, "She (Dee Dee) found me, brought me back and put in place paperwork saying I was incompetent and she had power of attorney over me". (People Magazine, 2024).
Again, Guardianship papers (POA) were not drafted until 2013, and they were drafted with Gypsy's full approval and consent, though not approved.

Later in 2017, Gypsy's story introduces some new details but loses others, "She (Dee Dee) smashed my laptop, with a hammer and she told me if I was to contact anybody, any of her friends and tell them, that she would take a hammer to my fingers next time, and then she put a bell on the door so if I tried to run away again she could hear it, and she had taken handcuffs and a dog leash and tied it together and tied me to the bed, chained me to the bed, for about 2 weeks." (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
We still have the hammer, the smashed computer, a dog leash, handcuffs and the threat of smashed fingers, but there is no mention of the cell phone or the in place/not yet in place guardianship papers. A warning not to tell people and a bell on the door are now introduced. 

In 2018, the story changed again, “My mother brought me back with her, smashed my computer. She chained me to a bed, tinted the windows so nobody could see what was going on inside the house, and put bells on the doors so if I tried to sneak out she could hear. I had asked her, you know, if I could go to the bathroom. She’d unchain me, take me to the bathroom but then chain me back up to the bed. She would starve me, she would hit me with a coat hanger and she would call me bitch, slut, whore, devil’s spawn. For about 2 weeks that happened. I went from looking at her like a loving parent to seeing her as somebody I was quite afraid of. I felt like there was no hope. I just kept thinking, dear God, get me out of here somehow”. (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
So we still have the hammer and the smashed computer, but the cell phone is still MIA as are the guardianship papers. The threat of smashed fingers, the threat not to talk to anybody, a dog leash and handcuffs are now relinquished, and at some point Dee Dee must have left the torture chamber and popped out to the local store to purchase additional bells, and a roll of film to tint the windows, which must have been in very short supply looking at the actual window. Starvation, beatings with a coat hanger and verbal abuse are now introduced. 

In another 2018 interview, Gypsy 'remembered' another detail, “She physically chained me to the bed and put bells on the doors and told … anybody that I probably would’ve trusted that I was going through a phase, and to tell her if I was doing anything behind her back,” (ABC News Report,  January 4th, 2018).
What, like 'running away' with a married man with children? 
In this version of events, Gypsy is chained to the bed with nothing more than a few words of discouragement. 
At Nick's 2018 trial, Gypsy adds, 'hitting and punching' into the mix.

In Gypsy's 2024. 'The Prison Confessions' version of events, she introduced being threatened with a knife, "When she got me into the house, she chained me to the bed, she smashed my computer, and my cell phone. And I was chained (handcuffs and a dog leash) for 2 weeks. The dog leash was connected to her, so anytime I would move she would feel me move, and if she was asleep I would move and she would wake up. I was at her mercy for everything, so, to go to the bathroom, for food. As punishment she would not feed me every day and she would eat whatever she wanted".
Gypsy claims that she begged and made promises to behave, and so Dee Dee released her, gradually. "For two weeks I tried to gain more of her trust, a lot of begging on my part - I promise I won't do it again. I'll be good. I will never talk to Dan again. to the point where she believed me enough to allow me little freedoms, like going to the bathroom on my own, taking a bath on my own. After this event she was very sensitive to when I would move in the bed. And she kept a knife by her bedside table, and she threatened me that if I was to attempt to run away, I would be punished for it". 
We still have the smashed computer/laptop and we see the return of the cell phone, but the bells, the tinted windows, the physical abuse, the name calling, the threats not to tell anyone and the in place/not yet in place guardianship papers have disappeared.
We also have the revelation that Gypsy is unchained for small amounts of time and intimidated by a knife, which wasn't mentioned in 2017, 2018, or 2022 (Will You Kill My Mother For Me, 2022).

​In one of Gypsy's first post-prison interviews, she suddenly remembered something she had forgotten to mention in the preceding 8 years, "I had to urinate on myself or in a bucket, you know, as she held the chain". (ABC Daytime exclusive, The View, 5th January, 2024).
We just can't.
After Gypsy was arrested, a backpack she had packed before fleeing the murder scene was found at Nick's house. Its contents included a pair of steel handcuffs in a box.

In Gypsy's 2024 'memoir', she claimed black bin bags covered all of the windows in the house.
​What will it be next, iron bars? An electric fence around the property? A moat? 

​A Facebook post, made on 19th February 2012, shows Gypsy being presented with a doll's house, as made by students studying at Missouri State University's School Of Construction.
In 2018, it was stated that the doll's house was made, 'Back in 2011 or so'.
Gypsy was a full grown adult when she was gifted the house, and not - as the title of the post suggests, "Construction Club Playhouse Gift" - a child.

​That aside, it would be useful to know the exact date the house was brought to Dee Dee's home, as it could potentially quash Gypsy's made up 'chained to the bed' story.
Also of interest, is the image presented of Dee Dee's lounge at the time of the presentation; the windows do not appear to be tinted or blacked-out, and it isn't in the cluttered state shown in later 2015 crime scene photos.
It suggests to us that when the presentation photo was taken, Dee Dee was still in control, whether that be of her health, of her adult 'child', or both.
It also illustrates what a pathological liar Gypsy Rose Blanchard is. 

(Extracts below) In her pack of lies 'memoir' ('My Time To Stand, and start to spiral early/mid 2025), Gypsy alleges that Dee Dee covered the windows in their home with black bin bags following their visit from the Child Protection Services on 26th October 2009. Behold the sunlight pouring through one of the said windows in 2011/12!
​And Gypsy, you were 18 years old at the time of that visit, you could have cooked your own damn food. 
And if Dee Dee was depressed, you need look no further than yourself Gyp.

And then came the voodoo curse.
Yeah, you heard right. The voodoo curse. 
(Gypsy) "Two weeks after I was chained (circa 20th May, 2011), my mother put a voodoo hex on me". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).

Gypsy claims that Dee Dee printed out pictures of both herself and Dan, before trotting off to the local store to purchase a "mason jar and a cow tongue" ('The Prison Confessions', 2024), where Dee Dee may well have then been awarded a $10 voucher for being, 'The most regular customer at the store this month!'.
We all have one of those local stores where we can buy a mason jar and a cow's tongue .. and window tint, right?
Having acquired three ingredients for her voodoo spell, Dee Dee 'Alistair Crowley' Blanchard then allegedly gathered up some of Gypsy's menstrual blood - from Gypsy's diaper? - before placing all the items inside the mason jar.
Dee Dee would then have retrieved a shovel from who knows where,  and buried the jar in the back yard, cursing as she went, "You will never find love. You'll never be happy". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
There really are no words.
Gypsy repeats the voodoo story with amusement, which is exactly how we listened to it.
You couldn't make this stuff up.
​Well, Gypsy backed into a corner could. 
Gypsy reiterates in 2024 that Dee Dee, "Never wanted me to find love or be happy". (The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose, 2024).
Untrue. 
Dee Dee just didn't think that Dan, a man who was once charged with possession of meth whilst there was a child on the premises, would provide either. 
What mother would?

In 2024, Kristy Blanchard says, "Gypsy probably doesn't even remember hardly a time where she wasn't under lock and key, I'll say. Like a prison. Gypsy was Dee Dee's daughter, but also her prisoner". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Gypsy was free to come and go as she pleased. She was seen out and about in the neighbourhood, that's hardly the definition of a prisoner.
​What Gypsy wanted was full reign to do whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted and with whoever she wanted. 
Dan. ​
​Gypsy Rose Blanchard wanted Dan.
And Dee Dee, the one person who always tried to give Gypsy everything she ever asked for, drew a line in the sand and said, no.
​Not on my watch sunshine.

(Excerpt below) In December, 2024, Gypsy completely obliterated everything she had said before with regards to being 'chained up' and the destruction of her laptop and phone, now claiming that Dee Dee smashed her laptop and phone after Dee Dee printed off a photo of Dan, and then 'chained' her up to the bed, totally changing the sequence of events (Source: 'My Time To Stand' and fall flat on my face in 2025).

Gypsy claims that two weeks after her nightmarish 'chained up' ordeal that never was, 'If I had a hammer' Dee Dee then purchased a gun, the inference being that it was used as a form of intimidation to prevent Gypsy from running away again. 
Clearly Dee Dee didn't feel that the two week reign of terror she had (not) just put her sick daughter through, or the knife Gypsy said she (didn't) keep on her bedside table, were intimidating enough. 

Gypsy alleges that when saw the gun, “That scared the ever-living ‘f’ out of me. I was afraid that she would kill me. … I was afraid she would do something worse than hitting me or starving me”. ('The Prison Confessions', 2024).
​So what does an almost terrified-for-her life, a month shy of her 20th birthday, Gypsy do?
Well of course she waits until her would be assassin passes out on her sleep medication and leaves the house in the middle of the night, but this time in the direction of the sheriff's department.
Nope.
Well maybe she waits until her would be assassin passes out on her sleep medication and leaves the house in the middle of the night, cadges another lift to Children's Mercy hospital, but this time speaks to a doctor or nurse about her abusive situation at home.
Nope.
'Scared', 'afraid' 'terrified' Gypsy, does exactly the same thing that allegedly got her chained up to a bed in the first place, Gypsy packs a bag and plans to (not) 'run away' again. 

Gypsy must have lived with the fear of being killed for over 3 weeks, without actually being killed, because it wasn't until 13th June, 2011, that 19 year old Gypsy claims Dee Dee returned home from a target practice session at a firing range with said gun, and discovered Gypsy had packed a bag and was planning on 'running away' again. 
Gypsy alleges that during the inevitable confrontation that followed, she grabbed the gun and threatened Dee Dee with it. (Gypsy) "And before I knew it, I pulled the trigger as many times as I could". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Ten times in fact.
This allegation was first revealed in Gypsy's awful docuseries, 'The Prison Confessions Of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, 2024.
Not in 2015 when she was first arrested, or in 2016 when she was being interviewed for 'Mommy Dead And Dearest', or in 2017 when she spoke to Dr Phil, or in 2018 when she appeared in 'Gypsy's Revenge'.
In 2024.
Phew.
Lucky Gypsy remembered extra things like this happening or, God forbid, there probably wouldn't have been any further confessions to be had.
Or money to be made. 

Gypsy says that it wasn't until she saw Dee Dee’s wounds were minor, that she realised the weapon was only a BB gun rather than a lethal weapon.
We're not sure how sheltered, secluded Gypsy immediately seemed able to ascertain the difference between a BB gun and an actual gun, but that's her story and she's running with it.
Now whilst BB guns are rarely lethal, they can cause fatal injuries. They can also cause damage to underlying tissues if they penetrate the skin, as well as break bones and cause skin infections, bruising and blood loss, so it was only by some miracle that Dee Dee avoided death or serious injury. 
Fortunately for Gypsy, Dee Dee didn't file charges.
What an alive mother Dee Dee Blanchard might have been if she had. 

Gypsy tells us she was relieved that Dee Dee was okay, and doesn't appear to have followed through with her plan to 'run away'. 
And, there were no repercussions.
No dog leash. No handcuffs. No slaps. No beatings with a coat hanger. No starvation. No cow tongues. The police aren't called. The hammer doesn't come out. Nothing. For being shot. Ten times.
Why?
Because it very likely never happened.

​In 2017, Gypsy is asked, "Did you ever hit back?" Gypsy responded, "Never. Never". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
In 2018, Gypsy is asked, "Did you ever fight back?" Gypsy responded, "No, because I was too afraid to". (Gypsy's Truth And lies, 2018).
​In 2024, Gypsy looked back on her life and said, "I wish I'd stood up for myself more". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang.

​Gypsy alleges that Dee Dee covered up the attempt on her life by using the situation to garner sympathy for herself, reporting to one and all that she had been shot during the course of a robbery attempt.
Even as the possible victim of a shooting, of an attempt on her life, Gypsy presents Dee Dee as the villain.
On the 13th and 14th June, 2011, Dee Dee (or Gypsy) made two posts on her and Gypsy's joint Facebook page.
The first reads, "WARNING ! IF A MAN APPROACHES YOU IN A WALMART PARKING LOT AND ASK YOU FOR MONEY … RUN!!!! GYP AND I GOT ROBBED. GYP IS OK (VERY SHAKEN UP) AND I GOT SHOT . HOPE THE POLICE GET HIM".
Dee Dee (or Gypsy) adds a follow up post the next day, "BULLET OUT. FEELING A LOT BETTER. I HAVE THE BEST LITTLE NURSE GYP".
When Dee Dee and Gypsy are next seen by Dr Beckerman at Children's Mercy hospital, Dr Beckerman - who records his favourite patient Gypsy's birth year incorrectly as 1995, and  'Rose' as 'Rosa' - notates Dee Dee telling him she was robbed at night at a Walmart car parking lot, recording that Dee Dee gave the assailant her wallet and was shot 10 times with an air pellet gun. 
Dr Beckerman writes that Dee Dee did not require treatment, but both Dee Dee and Gypsy were traumatised by the robbery, and that Gypsy was suffering from separation anxiety and had nightmares.
This seems a much more likely, though still quite unbelievable, explanation for Dee Dee's wounds.

Gypsy says she pleaded with Dee Dee after the shooting (that never was), "Why won’t you let me have a normal life? Why is my life this way to begin with? She kept reiterating that she takes care of me and I need special care.” (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
The normal life Gypsy seemed to want involved chasing after and hunting down men twice her age or thereabouts.
If anyone needed taking special care of, it was Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
And why the F didn't you just walk out and leave Gyp?

Rod recalls the robbery incident in the context of learning Dee Dee had been murdered. "When I heard Dee Dee got murdered I was at work. Her sister called me, said, 'Have you heard about Gypsy and Dee Dee?' And I said, 'What's going on?' And she started crying. She said Gypsy was missing and Dee Dee was murdered. I was like, 'Really'? (Laughing) I couldn't believe it. I've got a call a couple of times from them, they had, they've been through some things. They got robbed at the store. This was like serious. What? Dee Dee was dead?" (The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2018).
So of course Rod Blanchard jumped into his car and raced off to help find his missing child.
Nope.

(Extract below) Following on from Gypsy's 2024 'revelation' that she shot Dee Dee with a BB gun ('The Prison Confessions'), Gypsy then adds another weapon into to the mix in her December 2024 extremely unpleasant 'memoir' - Dee Dee's favourite ornamental Chinese dagger, which Gypsy claims she threatened Dee Dee with as well as the BB gun. (Source: 'My Time To Stand' and rewrite the past). 

Just a very quick aside.

Whilst Gypsy was allegedly getting all but waterboarded in Missouri, Rod, who uses every excuse in the book as to why he failed as a father to Gypsy, managed to find some time to hang with the family he did bother with, in Cut-Off, Louisiana.  
His wife Kristy, his daughter Mia, and, Dylan.
Dylan really takes after his mother, for sure.
His father, not so much.
Just an observation.
And a fair one given Rod had little time for the two blood children he rejected.

The Facebook post on the left, was made on 16th June 2015, by a Facebook user who managed to access Gypsy's secret Facebook profile, 'Emma Rose', before all the information on the profile was deleted after Gypsy was arrested, suggesting somebody other than Gypsy had password access to the account, or was given the password.

The deletion of the information suggests it was damaging to Gypsy's case. 
The deletion of the information constitutes an attempt to tamper with police evidence.

Aleah Woodmansee was a year younger than Gypsy, and was her neighbour in Springfield.
Aleah's mother, Amy Pinegar, and Dee Dee were friends, and Amy's house backed on to Dee Dee's. 
Aleah reports she would occasionally hang out with Gypsy, but says Dee Dee was always present.
In late 2011, Aleah claims Gypsy contacted her completely out of the blue using one of her secret Facebook profiles, and struck up a conversation with her, but not a conversation along the lines of, 'I've been chained to a bed and beaten and starved by my mother. I tried killing her but that didn't work, so I'm going to hop over, yes, hop over, the fence and run, yes, run, to your house. Call 911'.
Nope.
Gypsy reached out to Aleah for advice about dating and boys. 
Aleah alleges that Dee Dee found out about and read the messages.
According to Aleah, "Dee Dee took the laptop (Gypsy's laptop) to her front yard and destroyed it with a hammer'. (Intouchweekly, 3/4/2019).
Yeah, you heard right. Destroyed it with a hammer.
Dee Dee apparently took Gypsy's laptop - which Gypsy alleges was already hammer-crushed months earlier after she 'ran away' with Dan - into her front yard, and destroyed it with a hammer. 
Again.
However, in an earlier interview, Aleah recalled a completely different scenario, reporting that Dee Dee, "Confronted her (Aleah) in 2011 about her chats with Gypsy, telling her (Aleah) she was corrupting a child. “I’m not going to tell your mom about the things you said,” she told Aleah. “But I don’t want you talking to Gypsy like that.” Dee Dee took away Gypsy’s phone and computer for a time". (Michelle Dean, BuzzFeedNews, August 19th, 2016).
Two different versions of a single event recounted by one person.

In November 2011, a Facebook post Gypsy makes catches the eye of stepmother of the year, Kristy Blanchard.
The post allegedly related to Rod's past drug and alcohol abuse issues, and his failings as a father. (Source: The Good Wives' Network).
An outraged Kristy immediately contacts Dee Dee. 
Their conversation (seen on the right), reveals that, far from dissuading Rod from visiting Gypsy, 'Dee Dee' actively encourages a visit, stepping up with an offer of help during a potential crisis. "The hurricane is heading towards y'all. Please come here. We have plany (plenty) room and would love for y'all to come here and be safe".
Kristy responds, "Thanks. I think we will be fine".
Thanks, but no thanks; Kristy would rather risk a hurricane, than share Rod with Dee Dee and Gypsy.

In a case full of twists and turns, it's not that far fetched that Gypsy was 'posing' as Dee Dee and was actually the one who was responding to Kristy.

Nope.
Gypsy wore diapers because of incontinence, as documented in Gypsy's medical files seen below.
And even with the full knowledge that Gypsy was defecating in a nappy, Kristy Blanchard, who 'cared' so much about Gypsy, still didn't visit her.

​On 20th December 2011, Dee Dee and Gypsy attended 'Brazil Night' at Hope Lodge in Kansas city (A facility run by the American Cancer Society). 
Rather than use the opportunity to reach out to one of the workers for help to escape her so called life of physical, medical and mental abuse, sexually active Gypsy instead hopped into her wheelchair and joined in with the festivities, smiling for the camera and sitting down at a table to tuck into a hearty plate of food.
With people affected by cancer.
Gypsy was 20 years old.

And into this explosive mix of raging hormones, simmering tensions, secrets, lies, BB guns and Chinese daggers, walked Nicholas Godejohn, desperately looking for love.
He couldn't have arrived at a worse destination.
