Our website is updated on a daily basis. We're regularly working on new leads as well as deep diving information we already have, so information may change as                                             more truths are uncovered. We've only scratched the surface of this case, there's still so much more to discover.

Excerpts from Gypsy Rose Blanchard's 2024, 'memoir', 'My Time To Stand', are  interspersed throughout the website, to illustrate and reinforce that a false narrative continues to be promoted.
All medical records used throughout the website are courtesy of The Good Wives' Network

On 26th May 2014, Gypsy Rose Blanchard sent Nicholas Godejohn a video in which she told him that at 6 years of age (c.1997) she had a seizure during surgery which had left her paralysed.
Gypsy told Nick that she did in fact regain feeling in her legs, but didn't tell anybody for fear that Dee Dee wouldn't love her anymore, which is a somewhat bizarre reason.
Gypsy claimed in the video that she continued to fake paralysis until 2011.
At first sight, this seems far fetched, however, our niggle with this is, why would Gypsy, who self-identifies as the perpetual victim, not instead tell Nick that Dee Dee forced her to be in the wheelchair, which is the story she has told everybody else?
For that reason, we feel it is worth keeping this information in mind as we delve deeper into Gypsy's complex medical history. (Source: Video transcript received by Into The Weeds Podcast following a FOIA request, 2025).

Unfortunately the majority of Gypsy's early medical records were likely destroyed during Hurricane Katrina.
Of the relatively few medical records available, the earliest record we have is dated 16th May 2000.
They blow apart the false narrative that Gypsy was a victim of Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy, documenting the legitimate health issues Gypsy had.

"They didn't really have to kill my sister" (Evans Pitre, 2017)

In 1991, when Gypsy was was 3 months old, she showed symptoms of sleep apnea, a condition which caused her to stop breathing and have seizures during her sleep.
Dee Dee, as any good and responsible parent should and would, raised concerns with a doctor, and following a medical assessment Dee Dee was provided with, and used, a breathing monitor (CPAP) to alert her to any difficulties Gypsy might experience when she slept.
Sleep apnea continued to be a medical issue for Gypsy for many years to come.

Gypsy claims the breathing monitor, "Seemed to make my breathing worse, not better”. (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
In other words, 'The medical profession and my mother were trying to kill me'.

Gypsy can say whatever she likes about her childhood and young adult experiences in Dee Dee's absence, safe in the knowledge that Dee Dee isn't here to contradict anything she says, but Dee Dee still has a voice, albeit one recorded in Gypsy's medical records, and according to those records, Dee Dee reported that Gypsy liked using the CPAP machine, which, Dee Dee claimed, gave Gypsy a more restful sleep.

A 1st July 2004 medical report reveals that sleeping with a CPAP machine resolved Gypsy's significant nocturnal hypoventilation.
Rod Blanchard weighs in with his own recollections of Gypsy's sleep apnea, which quite frankly are confusing and contradictory to say the very least, which is a fair summary given Rod admits he wasn't around for the first five years of Gypsy's life.
If somebody wanted to pay us way above a good hourly wage to talk about the first five years of Cleopatra's life, we'd read a book and give it a go.
And give it a go, Rod does.
Badly.
As would we.
Only Rod isn't talking about a character from a bygone era, he's talking about his own flesh and blood child.

(Rod, 2017), "Right from birth, three months old, Dee Dee was telling me she (Gypsy) had sleep apnea, and she needed a, er, breathing machine or, or, breathing monitor machine. Which, I mean, I, I, to this day, don't know if that was real or not, you know?" (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Is that from birth? Or is that from 3 months old?
(Rod, 2018), "Dee Dee tells me she's trying to get her (Gypsy) this heart monitor that she'd have to wear whilst she slept, because she stopped breathing in her sleep, and she'd have, or she'd have seizures in the middle of the night. And she'd tell me she was bringing her for tests and everything, and that she had sleep apnea. She (Dee Dee) acted so scared". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
'Acted' implies faked, which implies 'made up', which implies Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy.

(Rod, 2018), "Dee Dee was telling me that when she'd (Gypsy) have these seizures, it would knock her back mentally a couple of years". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
Dee Dee was spouting facts because, yes, seizures
can impact a baby's development.
In a later 2018 interview, Rod claims
that not long after he and DeeDee split up, Dee Dee told him, "She (Gypsy) was sick. Problems sleeping. Epilepsy. And it just progressed from there". (Gypsy's Truth And Lies, 2018).
According to Rod he separated from Dee Dee almost 3 months before
Gypsy was born, so when exactly is Rod saying Gypsy's epilepsy started, in the womb?
By 2019, Rod was pretty certain that Gypsy didn't have sleep apnea, "From the medical records I've seen now, there was no determination that she was, that she had sleep apnea, you know. Her tests seemed pretty normal. But Dee Dee was persistent that she get the heart monitor that she would wear at night". (The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2019).
Rod must have selectively missed the medical record that clearly stated, "evidence of significant nocturnal hypoventilation, resolved with the use of the nasal CPAP". (1st July 2004).

Rod backs up his claims that Gypsy didn't have sleep apnea by reporting that he never witnessed Gypsy have a seizure.
How would he?
He hardly ever witnessed Gypsy.

In 2024, Rod bizarrely does an about turn, "I remember when Gypsy was 3, 4 months old. Dee Dee told me she stopped breathing in her sleep. She had her tested and she had sleep apnea". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Now Gypsy
does have the condition.
And she might have been 4 months old.

To recap Rod's recollections of Gypsy's sleep apnea; Sleep apnea was a condition Gypsy may or may not have had. It could have developed before she was born, when she was born, when she was 3 months old, or when she was 4 months old.
Just for the record, the 2007 doctor's report which recorded a suspicion of Gypsy being a victim of Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy, also claimed, "The mother is not a good historian".

The doctor obviously hadn't met Rod Blanchard.

Gypsy's medical records confirm that Gypsy's seizures were only ever witnessed by Dee Dee, but it's not unusual for seizures linked to sleep apnea to happen during the night, as that is the general time when most babies sleep. That doesn't mean the seizures didn't happen.

According to Rod, he was so concerned about Gypsy's breathing difficulties that he returned briefly to the marriage, "That didn't work out. I didn't feel any different". (The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2019).
Or perhaps Rod and his inflated sense of self were on another 'fill-in-the-gap-break' from Kristy. Or from Jill. Or from the other Christy. Or he needed a ride.

It's Dee Dee's father, Claude Snr, who gives credence to Gypsy's sleep apnea, "At night, Gypsy had a machine on. The alarm would come on when she (Gypsy) stopped breathing. So you had to wake her up. Once you'd wake her up, the machine would stop. But it was scary". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
That'll do for us.
Along with copious amounts of medical evidence.

According to - you've guessed it - Rod Blanchard, "When she (Gypsy) was around 4, 5, 6, Dee Dee started telling me she (Gypsy) had some problems with her eyes, seizures. She would say that the seizures would affect her eyes". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
In 2019, the ages of 5 and 6 are ruled out, (Rod) "Before she (Gypsy) was 5, she (Dee Dee) started talking about her having problems with her eyes". ('The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2019).

Ramblin' Rod clearly has no idea when Gypsy's eye problems began.
Maybe Gypsy was 4 ... Maybe she was 5 ... Maybe she was 6.

Medical records notate Gypsy having eye surgery when she was 3 years old.
Where were you Rod?
They also record that, according to Dee Dee, Gypsy's eye problems started when she was 8 months old.
Same question Rod.

Gypsy would have us believe that, "The only thing I have wrong with me is I have a little bit of a lazy eye. That's it. Nothing else". (Gypsy's Truth And Lies, 2018).
The fact that Gypsy has 1q21.1 microdeletion syndrome frequently slips Gypsy's mind.
Victim of Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy doesn't.
And as for a 'little bit', no offence intended, but recent photos of Gypsy Rose Blanchard strongly suggest otherwise.
One eye heading West whilst the other bears East beats being blind though, eh Gyp.

In 2018, Kristy Blanchard stated, "S
he (Gypsy) does have a lazy eye if she doesn’t wear her glasses all the time. That was since she was a little baby. Everything else was all a lie”. (Ozarksfirst.com 28th February, 2018).
That within itself is a lie.

Gypsy had more than just, 'a bit of a lazy eye', medical records prove that Gypsy had strabismus, a serious eye condition which if left untreated can lead to blindness.
And Gypsy didn't just have an issue with one eye, it was both eyes.
Gypsy underwent numerous medically necessary eye surgeries over a number of years to correct the condition, surgeries that
prevented her from going blind.
The diagnosis is in Gypsy's medical records.
The medical records Gypsy, Rod and Kristy Blanchard claim to have seen.
The medical records made available to the public in 2023 courtesy of The Good Wives' Network.
And who was the conscientious and responsible parent who made sure Gypsy's eye condition was treated?
Dee Dee Blanchard of course, the only parent that was ever present in her sick child's life.
Over the course of 23 years, Rod Blanchard didn't attend a single one of Gypsy's doctor's appointments or surgeries, or ask to view her medical records.
Post murder, Rod was all over these records like a nasty, inflamed rash.

In 'Mommy Dead And Dearest', Gypsy says, "The earliest surgery that I can remember probably would be having my feeding tube put in". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
A year or so later, Gypsy tells Dr Phil, "My first memory would be in the hospital, and I remember having a surgery done to my eyes". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
It's pot luck as to which one Gypsy will remember it being next; 'I had my internal organs rearranged'.

Gypsy's primary care giver from 2005 was Dr Robert Steele.
Dr Steele appears in 'The Prison Confessions Of Gypsy Rose' (Fee paid unknown) where he is incorrectly presented as Gypsy's 'childhood doctor'.
Dr Steele met Gypsy for the very first time on 26th September, 2005 when Gypsy was a 14 year old teenager.
Dr Steele claims that Dee Dee's unproven Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy tag probably started when Gypsy was diagnosed with strabismus.
Dr Steele theorizes that the attention Dee Dee gained from having a real need, (Dr Steele) "From having a child that could have gone blind" (The Prison Confessions Of Gypsy Rose, 2024), led to a need for more attention.

According to Dr Steele's theory, Dee Dee was veritably basking in the spotlight during the countless eye related appointments and procedures she attended with a child she clearly doted on.

Dr Steele also needs to sit down.

Gypsy's attorney/manager, Mike Stanfield states, "I don't know why these (medical) procedures were done, or how her mother (Dee Dee) was able to convince the doctors. 'Mind boggling' is the only way I can put her ability to manipulate people". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Is Mike Stanfield saying doctor's are stupid?
Doctors do not perform eye surgery on a mother's say so alone, and it's 'mind-boggling' for a lawyer to encourage people to think otherwise.
Unless of course said lawyer is pleading a case for Munchausen Syndrome By proxy.

You know what you can do Mike.

In 1995, Kristy's first child, Dylan Michael Blanchard, was born.
The Blanchard's would seemingly prefer we believe he was born after they married in 1999, as they fail to correct the numerous news articles they feature in, that go along the lines of, 'First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage'.
Maybe Rod was still legally married to Dee Dee when Dylan was conceived. Who knows? Who cares?
Kristy.
It was promoted at the time of Dee Dee's murder that Dylan chooses to avoid the spotlight and doesn't use social media.
We won't list Dylan's many social media accounts, but they do exist.
Neither will we produce the many images of Dylan, Kristy Blanchard plastered across her social media accounts, post murder.
There is a story there, but as we said earlier in reference to Dee Dee's paternity, some closet doors don't need opening.

It has been espoused by Gypsy that her dental problems stemmed from an overuse of medications which rotted her teeth, a theory she champions over and over again, "The medications did affect my teeth. They started to deteriorate and some of them had to be extracted". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
In a 2017 prison interview, Gypsy was more specific as to which medication was to blame for her crumbling teeth, Tegretol, which she says was prescribed for her seizures. (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
If Dee Dee was overusing Tegretol, Gypsy would have died, plain and simple, and Gypsy was only prescribed Tegretol until 2005 at which time a lot of her teeth were still intact.
What would Gypsy have preferred, Dee Dee sat by and let her die?
As she did her.

Whilst one of the side effects of Tegretol is a dry mouth, which can indeed cause tooth erosion and loss, medical records reveal that Gypsy also has a high palette, which results in feeding difficulties, breathing difficulties, sleep apnea and a host of dental problems.
Gypsy also suffered from acid reflux which is known to rot the enamel on your teeth, so Tegretol alone cannot be singled out as the cause of Gypsy's dental problems.
Further, Gypsy suckled on a baby's bottle until the time of her arrest which can also cause tooth decay.
Yup.
She was 23 years old.
The long and short of it is, Gypsy just had very bad teeth. Whether this started in the womb - babies teeth start growing within the first few weeks of pregnancy - or was a direct consequence of the multitude of health conditions Gypsy had, we'll never know.
What we can say with a degree of certainty and a bucket load of medical records is, Dee Dee didn't purposely rot Gypsy's teeth, and appeared to do everything she could to address and correct Gypsy's dental problems.
With all the things Gypsy had legitimately wrong with her, our only surprise is she held on to her teeth for as long as she did.

Gypsy has stated on numerous occasions that Dee Dee insisted she remained silent during doctor's appointments -

(Gypsy) "If we'd be going to the doctor, she (Dee Dee) would do all the talking. I'd always have a stuffed animal or a Barbie doll. She'd tell me, just play with my Barbie doll. And if the doctor would come to examine me, 'Just stay in the wheelchair, be calm, play with your doll and don't move your legs' ". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
(Gypsy) "She (Dee Dee) would have put her arm around me and hug my shoulder, or she would squeeze my hand; that was a signal to shut up". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
On 4th April 2007, Dee Dee and Gypsy attended a pre-op evaluation for dental rehabilitation surgery (10 fillings, 2 extractions and crowns) scheduled for later that month.
During the pre-op evaluation, it was recorded that Gypsy's vocabulary, "seems more advanced than 2nd grade. Fluent and engaging".
This is just one of many recorded instances of Gypsy interacting with doctors.
It was also noted during the same appointment that Dee Dee was, "extremely attentive and loving".
You mean Dee Dee wasn't ramming a Barbie doll down Gypsy's throat with her free hand whilst breaking Gypsy's fingers with the other?
(Gypsy states in her hideous 2024 'memoir', Barbie was a brand of doll she was never allowed to play with (Source:
'My Time To Stand' and lie like no one is watching).

As for Gypsy's seizures, the one's the Gypsy train tells us Gypsy didn't have -
On the 29th May, 2013, Gypsy was seen for an epilepsy follow-up appointment, at which time a decision was made to increase her Keppra dosage.
Keppra is an
antiepileptic medicine.
Doctor's don't just dish out Keppra willy-nilly on the demands of a care giver.

When Gypsy was arrested in 2015, she was taken to the Waukesha County Sheriff's department to be interviewed.
Prior to Gypsy's interview she was transported to the local hospital for a health check. On her return, Gypsy told the sheriff guarding her outside the interview room that she was taken to the hospital to get meds for her 'seizure disorder'.
Would those be meds for the seizure disorder Gypsy says she didn't have?
Or would those be meds for the seizure disorder Gypsy was still pretending she did have?
("About 6 out of 10 people diagnosed with epilepsy can be seizure free within a few years with proper treatment" Source: Epilepsy Foundation).

23 years was ample time for health professionals to desist from keeping Gypsy's apparently 'non-existent' seizures under control.

Since her December 2023 prison release, Gypsy has undergone a 'smile makeover' and has had her silver crowns replaced by porcelain caps.
Good for her, but let's not forget that Gypsy generates revenue off her dead mother's back.
In 2024, online estimates placed Gypsy's net worth at around 3 million dollars.
Gypsy disputed this amount, claiming she only had $15,000 in her bank account (May, 2024).
Bless her.
$15,000 in the bank isn't bad for someone who has never done an actual day's work in their entire life.
But not to worry.
Gypsy's 'paltry' $5,000 had clearly increased as of April 2025, at which time she deposited  $50,000 in her (ex) husband's bank account. (See image below).
Wow, who'd have thought killing your mother paid so well.

It was a team of specialists, not Dee Dee, who decided that 7 year old Gypsy would benefit from a feeding tube placement.
Gypsy's medical records reveal that this decision was reached following an 'extensive evaluation by a feeding team'.
A feeding tube placement is a perfectly normal way to treat specific health issues Gypsy had at that time, including a failure to thrive, acid reflux, dysphagia (problems swallowing) and hypersalivation (excessive production of saliva).
Medical records also show that Gypsy had a Nissen Fundoplication prior to the feeding tube to treat gastroesophageal reflux.

♫ Duh, duh, duh ♫
Enter 'Misstra Know-It-All', Rod Blanchard.
(Rod, 2018), "It just got worse and worse. Dee Dee started telling me, 'They're running tests. They're trying to find out what's going on with (Gypsy) her. She's got a lot of issues'. She had some problems with her hearing, she needs to have some tubes put in her ears. She had a problem with reflux so, 7 or 8, she had the feeding tube put in". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
In Gypsy's vomit-inducing 2024 'memoir'('My Time To Stand' now that I don't have to pretend I can't), she claims she was 5 when her feeding tube was placed.
In another section of the same memoir, Gypsy says she was 9, so who knows? It could have been 5, 7, 8 or 9.
(7  is the age most quoted in Gypsy's medical records).
And yes, things did get worse.
They got worse for Gypsy, the patient, and for Dee Dee, the mother, having to witness everything her child was going through.
And doctors were running tests.
Tests to uncover what was at the root of all of Gypsy's health issues.
Did life get 'worse' for Rod Blanchard?
Nope.
Rod's life was improving, on a financial front at least. He'd waved farewell to his career in the shrimp industry and was working offshore as a shipmaster which would have provided him with a well above average income.
We wonder whose idea it was to get Rod shipped out to work in the middle of the ocean for a month at a time?

Gypsy first had ear tubes fitted when she was 4 years old, which would have been around the time Dylan was born.
Were you there for that surgery Rod?
Ear infections and the placement of ear tubes are common childhood conditions and practices, and r
ecurrent ear infections are common in people with 1q21.1 microdeletion syndrome.
It is shown in Gypsy's medical records that she had multiple ear infections and perforations..
Gypsy's last ear related hospital appointment was on the 23rd February 2009, when the removal of her ear tubes was recommended.

Gypsy tells us, "My mother told the doctors that I couldn't eat" ('Mother Knows Best, 2017).
No she didn't.
Gypsy states the feeding tube was, "Controlling what I'd eat". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
No it wasn't.
The doctor's report in Gypsy's medical records clearly states that Gypsy
does not eat enough, 'She (Gypsy) was not able to consume enough calories by mouth to promote survival'.
There is a major difference between doesn't eat at all, and doesn't consume enough.

According to 'throwing darts in the dark' Rod, the feeding tube placement almost stopped Gypsy eating altogether, "She (Gypsy) had a feeding tube installed so she couldn't have any physical hard foods". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).

So why does Rod attest to taking Gypsy on a trip to McDonalds?
To sit and watch him eat a big mac and fries whilst she sucked on mayonnaise?
It states in Gypsy's medical records that Gypsy could eat soft foods, her favourite being, 'mashed potato with gravy and pudding'.
One medical record shows Dee Dee mentioning the different ways she tried to spice up mashed potato.
Actually bless her.

The placement of the feeding tube was never intended to prevent Gypsy's oral ingestion of food, it was implanted because Gypsy needed extra nutrition in order to survive.
Gypsy's failure to thrive is evident in photos of her at that time.

For someone who accuses her mother of telling doctors she couldn't eat, there sure are a number of photos of that very same someone in an eating situation,
taken by none other than the person she accuses of telling doctors she couldn't.
Dee Dee wasn't medically abusing Gypsy, she was following medical advice to ensure her that her sick child received enough nutrients.
That's not a definition of Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy.

Dr Steel refers to the feeding tube as an "unfortunate decision". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
On the 18th September, 2005, Gypsy undergoes a feeding tube replacement. Gypsy's health provider is recorded as Dr Robert Steele.
How unfortunate.

Poor growth, and eating and digestive problems are symptoms of the chromosome disorder, 1q21.1 microdeletion syndrome.

A letter dated May 3rd 2004, shows that Coram Healthcare had been providing enteral feedings (feeding tube) and nutrition monitoring on Gypsy from July 2000.
The letter concluded that, as of 2004, Gypsy was 100% meeting the US dietary guidelines for vitamins and minerals, calories and protein.
Gypsy may only have had the weight and height consistent with a 7 year old (she was 12), but she wasn't considered undernourished.
It would appear that what Dr Steele referred to as an 'unfortunate decision' was actually a most fortunate one.
'Failure to thrive' Gypsy was nourished.
We would call that a successful outcome to a necessary medical procedure.

In Gypsy's latest 2024 book/web of lies ('A Time To Stand' down), she records that she is reminded of the scars left by unnecessary surgeries when she enjoys "one of life's simplest joys'; diving into food.
The examples of food Gypsy gives are, 'steak and oysters'.
Firstly, the placement of Gypsy's feeding tube was medically necessary at the time.
Secondly, steak and oysters are luxuries most honest, hard working people can ill afford.
Count the blessings your mother is still providing you with Gyp.

In Gypsy's codswallop 2024 'memoir' ('My Time To Stand' and fool you all once again), Gypsy recalls how Dee Dee liked to relay stories to her about her youth, happily recounting events from her younger days, including tales about her experiences of beauty pageants, a time in her life Gypsy states, "she (Dee Dee) felt truly special - and pretty".
Gypsy interprets Dee Dee's perfectly normal act of reminiscing as Dee Dee's way of gaining her, 'adoration', her, 'attention'.
As a way of trying to make Gypsy 'jealous'.
How more self-centred can one be?
To Gypsy, "It almost seemed like she was trying to make me feel even smaller, in my wheelchair, with no teeth, malnourished, androgynous—with no attractiveness at all, most of the time dressed as a boy".
We would just like to address this briefly.
In fairness, Gypsy did have a face only a mother could love, and love it Dee Dee did, and we'll agree with the (still) 'no attractiveness' (inside or out), but that aside, Gypsy was never malnourished; Gypsy's failure to thrive was likely a result of her chromosome disorder, and not, as she implies, a result of Dee Dee starving her.
Once diagnosed, Gypsy thrived and maintained a weight healthy to her small frame, and her ultimate height of 4 11" right up to the time of her arrest.
And Gypsy most definitely was not dressed as a boy, 'most of the time'.
You will see hundreds of images throughout the pages of our website showing Gypsy 'not dressed as a boy'.
Below is a small collection of 2015 crime scene images of Gypsy's clothes, courtesy of Into The Weeds Podcast'
Below those are a few images of Gypsy not looking malnourished.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Gyp, but some people are just born evil.

Gypsy claims, with sinister overtones, that medications would be put through her medieval weapon of torture, aka as a feeding tube, which is in fact a perfectly normal procedure.
Gypsy also insinuates that Dee Dee could have put (and she stresses) anything
through the feeding tube when she was asleep, which, ironically, suggests nothing sinister went in when she was awake.
But you don't just pour liquids directly into a feeding tube. Dee Dee would have needed to attach an extension set to administer liquids. Quite a tricky procedure to achieve without waking a sleeping child.

Gypsy appears dumbfounded when told by an interviewer that her medical records - medical records she says she has read - report she had a fear of eating. "That's ridiculous! I mean, is that something that my mum said?" (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Nope. It was something a team of feeding specialists said.
(Interviewer) "Yes". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Again. Nope. It was something a team of feeding specialists said.
(Gypsy) "Wow! No, I never had a fear of eating". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
A team of medically trained feeding specialists said you did.

Gypsy reports that she spent 6 months as an in patient in a New Orleans children's hospital immediately following the feeding tube placement.

Common sense dictates, if Gypsy didn't need a feeding tube, Gypsy wouldn't have left the hospital 6 months later with one still in place.

Gypsy claims that she, "Had that feeding tube changed every 6 months until I was 24".
(Interviewer) "So you had to get that changed twice a year for 15 years?"
Gypsy is adamant in her reply, "For 15 years". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Gypsy says that the process involved in the changing of the feeding tube was a painful experience. "You have to have it constantly changed, like every 6 months. And that would be pretty painful because they don't put you under anaesthesia". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
In response.
15 years is a long time for health professionals to continue with the use of a feeding tube a patient doesn't need.
In response.
A doctor only once requested that Gypsy's feeding tube was replaced, and that was whilst she was under the care of Dr Steele, the doctor who called Gypsy's feeding tube, 'an unfortunate decision', and was never maintained by a doctor on a regular basis, let alone changed every 6 months as Gypsy explicitly states.
Gypsy's medical records show she had the feeding tube replaced several times, and then only when it became infected, and then only during a visit to an emergency room
because it was infected.
Likely because her lazy ass didn't clean it.

We could list all the times Gypsy had her feeding tube changed, as well as all the times Gypsy has said she didn't need a feeding tube, instead, we'll let Gypsy dig her own hole.
A rather large one.

Gypsy was almost 24 years old the last time she had her feeding tube replaced, and we know this from a series of text messages she exchanged with Nicholas Godejohn during his greyhound bus journey to her home to kill her mother.
Gypsy states in these messages that she has been to ER to get her feeding tube changed, and that it will be
at least a year before it will need to be changed again, and then only if it needs replacing, as in, if it gets infected, as in, because her lazy ass hadn't cleaned it.
Gypsy also admits to Nick that
she can change the feeding tube herself.
Gypsy doesn't question why she has a feeding tube or say that the procedure of changing it is painful.
Nor does she say the feeding tube isn't needed or that she wants it removed permanently.

But according to Gypsy, "I asked my mother, 'Can you please get rid of the feeding tube?, I don't need it', and she said, 'No' ". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
In 2018, Gypsy was asked if there were certain illnesses that she knew she didn't have. Gypsy replies, "I knew I didn't need the feeding tube". (Gypsy's Truth And Lies, 2018).
Then why was she planning on keeping it after Dee Dee had passed?
During Gypsy's 2015 police interview, she shows the detective interviewing her, her feeding tube, and says that she has an extra one in her bag at Nick's house.
If Gypsy knew she didn't need a feeding tube pre-murder, then why did she take a spare one with her when fleeing the scene of the crime?

When Gypsy entered the prison system, she was quick to have the feeding tube removed, and to show on camera that she had it removed.
That doesn't prove she wasn't complicit in knowing she no longer needed a feeding tube.
It only shows that she had it removed.
After she was charged with first degree murder.

In 2017, Kristy Blanchard acts horrified, on camera, when Gypsy's attorney and manager, Mike Stanfield, tells her about a doctor's 2007 suspicion that Gypsy may be a victim of Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy.
(Kristy) "What? Un-freaking- believable.
And it would have kept going, cause her mama was an insane, compulsive liar.” (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
But it was Kristy Blanchard who reported this suspicion 2 years earlier to Mike Stanfield, so what's with the theatrics?

And yes, you heard right. Kristy Blanchard accuses someone, other than herself, of being an, 'An insane, compulsive liar'.
The very same Kristy Blanchard who stated, "
She (Gypsy) does have a lazy eye if she doesn’t wear her glasses all the time. That was since she was a little baby. Everything else was all a lie”. (Ozarksfirst.com 28th February, 2018).

Gypsy's medical records also confirm another condition Gypsy and Kristy say Gypsy didn't have, asthma.
When Erin Lee Carr, the director of the web of lies, 'Mommy Dead And Dearest', asks Gypsy, "What illnesses did your mother say you had?" (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017), Gypsy includes asthma in a long list of 'made up illnesses'.

There are numerous accounts of Gypsy attending 'asthma, rhinitis and food allergies' appointments in her medical records.
Gypsy's last appointment was on the 26th November 2013 when she was 22 years old.
Doctors spent over a decade addressing Gypsy's asthma and allergy issues.
Surely that in itself suggests she had both.

In 2004 and 2005, Gypsy attended sleep clinics, which are monitored by trained medical staff who determined health conditions whilst patients sleep, and mild asthma and 'controlled rhinitis' were noted.
Not by Dee Dee.
By medical specialists.
Who are the insane, compulsive liars now?

Allergies? What allergies?
Following his interview with Gypsy after her arrest, Detective Stan Hancock records, "Gypsy said she drank some milk and forgot she was allergic to milk". (29th June 2015).
Said no one with a milk allergy, ever.

Allergies? What allergies?
Following the necessary removal of Gypsy's submandibular glands in 2005, Gypsy was prescribed a course of antibiotics.
Gypsy claims, "I started being allergic to the antibiotics that was trying to make me heal faster”. (ABC News Report, January 4th, 2018).

Allergies? What allergies?
In 2024, Gypsy accuses Dee Dee of giving her too much of a medication she knew she was allergic to.
Gypsy claims Dee Dee did this to cause an allergic reaction, which Dee Dee would then photograph and send to doctors to provide evidence that Gypsy was allergic to sugar. (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
If this were true, then the nutritionists who were treating Gypsy for a failure to thrive with the nutritional supplement, Pediasure - which contains both milk proteins and natural sugar - would not have continued to prescribe it right up until the time of Gypsy's arrest.

Allergies? What allergies?
After Gypsy was arrested, the police found a packet of
allergy medication in Gypsy's backpack.

Gypsy had asthma. Gypsy had rhinitis. Gypsy had allergies.

In many documentaries and interviews, Rod and Kristy Blanchard solemnly reflect on what they claim Dee Dee told them about Gypsy's short life expectancy.
(Rod), "Dee Dee told me she’s (Gypsy) not going to live to be, you know, 18 years old. She may be an old teenager, that's about it. You know, I was like, really? You know, it was shocking. It was disturbing". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
18.
(Rod), "Dee Dee told me she's (Gypsy) not going to live to be 20 years old". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
20.
(Kristy), "When Gypsy was around 8, Dee Dee called one day and said she (Gypsy) was diagnosed with leukemia, and wouldn't live beyond the age of 12". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
12.

It is recorded in multiple medical records that Dee Dee advised doctors that Gypsy had leukemia when she was 5 years old.
It is referenced as, 'acute lymphocytic leukemia' and leukemia.

A 2007 medical record, states, 'Remission 10 years'.
One medical record notates the word, chemotherapy.
All references to leukemia are recorded in 2007 medical records.

Without access to Gypsy's medical records pre. May 2000, we are unable to prove or disprove Dee Dee's claim.

FOIA files obtained and shared by
Into The Weeds Podcast in April 2025, reveal a 2015 crime scene image of a document which lists many of the health conditions addressed in Gypsy's medical records, likely scribed by Dee Dee  -  "She (Gypsy) is confined to a wheelchair, must be fed through a tube, and suffers from asthma, epilepsy and Faltemans anemia (a form of leukemia). She is vision and hearing impaired, microcephalic, and developmentally delayed".
Faltemans anemia?
Faltemans anemia doesn't exist, but Fanconi anemia does.

Melissa Moore, co author of two of Gypsy's dreadful books, 'Confessions On The Eve Of Freedom' (2024), and, 'My Time To Stand' (2024), as well as executive producer of the equally dreadful, 'Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up' and 'The Prison Confessions' (2024/25), claims to have discovered documentation relating to a bone marrow transplant in Gypsy's medical records.
Care to share those records Ms Moore?
The ones we believed were destroyed during Hurricane Katrina?
If not, why not?
Fanconi
anemia is an inherited and rare genetic disorder, which poses an increased risk of developing certain types of cancer.
It is characterized by bone marrow failure.
One option for treating the condition are bone marrow transplants.

We obviously cannot say with any degree of certainty that Gypsy had Fanconi anemia, but maybe Melissa Moore can.
The ball's in your court Ms Moore.
We fully expect it to stay there.

In many of the medical records, Dee Dee references a car accident she had in 2001, which almost severed her foot, claiming that she also suffered a head injury, resulting in some kind of memory disorder.
Possibly true.
Possibly not.
There are times in the records when Dee Dee says she can't remember all the illnesses Gypsy had and when they began.
In fairness, Gypsy did have a lot of legitimate things wrong with her, some with clear diagnoses and others not so clear cut, and whilst we can appreciate how awful this was for the patient, Dee Dee was the one making the appointments, the arrangements and caring for Gypsy's health problems.
Rod was nowhere to be seen.
It must have been overwhelming at times for Dee Dee.
It's also noticeable that Gypsy's date of birth is sometimes recorded incorrectly in many of the medical records, but we can't really decipher a reason for this. It could be 1991 one week, 1992 the next, and 1995 the week after that.
In one instance, two different dates of birth are recorded in two medical records both dated 4th April, 2007.

According to the second wife, Kristy Blanchard, Gypsy attended school for a short period of time; "When Gypsy was old enough to attend school, she was excited. I don't even think she went the whole year". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Kristy claims Dee Dee pulled Gypsy out of school, "Because she was afraid they wouldn't give her her medication right". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Dee Dee likely chose to home school Gypsy for legitimate reasons, the most obvious relating to Gypsy's many health conditions. According to one of Dee Dee's friends, a teenage Gypsy was home schooled well enough to be able to read the 'Lord Of The Rings' trilogy and to be able to discuss the symbolism in the films made from the books.
Great job, Dee Dee.

In 2017, Dr Phil asked Gypsy if she remembers going to school, Gypsy responds, "I've never been to school". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).
(Dr Phil) "Did you ever go to kindergarten?"(Gypsy) "No Sir". ((Mother Knows Best, 2017).

At Gypsy's pre-trial hearing held on July 5th 2016, Gypsy is asked, “How far did you go in school?”
Gypsy replies, “Um, About the second grade”.
Perhaps Dr Marc Feldman and Dr Phil would care to diagnose Gypsy Rose Blanchard.

In March 2025, an eagle-eyed Reddit user noted the similarity between the dress Gypsy is seen wearing in the image on the right and the school uniform worn at the
Holy Rosary Catholic School in Larose, close to where Rod lived.

The document mentioned in the previous section relating to Gypsy's list of health conditions, also claims that Rod abandoned Dee and Gypsy shortly after Gypsy's birth and contributed nothing towards supporting her.
Further, the author of the document reports that Rod refused to pay for Gypsy's home schooling as Dee Dee was insistent on Gypsy receiving Christian teachings which Rod was opposed to.
Whilst these claims cannot be proven, court documents discussed later on this page reveal that Dee Dee did in fact take Rod to court for child support, as well for non payment and arrears of alimony and medical bills, so there may be a sprinkling of truth to the claims.
Whilst we do acknowledge that Dee Dee was a grifter, dead beat dad Rod might like to ask himself why.

Not only does Kristy Blanchard imply that Dee Dee denied Gypsy an education, her twice-married husband, Rod, claims Dee Dee denied him alone time with his daughter, "She (Dee Dee) wouldn't even leave her (Gypsy) with me for an hour or anything, so she was with her all the time". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
We wonder if that could be connected to the alcohol and substance abuse issues Rod had?
The ones Rod reprimanded Kristy for, for revealing them to Fancy Macelli. (Source: The Good Wives' Network)

Mothers keep their sick children close, it's called a maternal instinct, and nobody in their right minds would leave a child, with or without medical needs, in the care of anybody with alcohol and substance abuse issues.
Dee Dee just couldn't win.
She would have been damned if she did, and she has been damned because she didn't.

Well, now we know why she didn't.
We got you, Dee Dee.

Michelle Dean, the executive producer of the highly successful 2019 Hulu TV series about the case, 'The Act', had already uncovered the truth of this story way back in 2016, when she reported in a Buzz Feed article, "She (Dee Dee) explained the increasingly bewildering array of problems to Rod by saying that Gypsy had a chromosomal defect. Many of Gypsy’s health issues, she claimed, stemmed from that one thing". (Buzz Feed, August 19th, 2016).
Dee Dee wasn't 'claiming' anything, she was speaking the truth, but other people's need for fame and fortune over truth ensured we lost sight of it.

For the record, Kristy Blanchard doesn't approve of 'The Act'.
Like, Kristy Blanchard seriously doesn't approve of 'The Act'.
In a telephone interview Kristy gave to Kenny Herzog on the 4th April, 2019 for Vulture,
Kristy says, "When we first talked about ('The Act'), she (Michelle Dean) had told me she was going to talk to the producers because she wanted us to be included. She called me a couple of days after the fact and said that the producers - and she didn’t say who they were - did not want us to interact because I might tell whoever’s playing our parts that, “Oh, you’re walking wrong.” And I’m like, “Seriously?”
And we're like, seriously?
Kristy Blanchard hadn't been involved in Gypsy's life for most of it, why would she have been invited in the first place to be included in the telling of it?
Or, worse, put herself forward as a well of knowledge?

Kristy continues, "She (Michelle Dean) had told me that whatever she made, it didn’t matter what it was, she was gonna send us 50 percent of what she made and she was gonna keep 50 percent. And then a couple of days later is when she called me and told me she talked to the producers and they didn’t want to interact with us".
Kristy is asked by the interviewer, "Since the past few years have been so overwhelming, why would you want to be so intimately involved in yet another televised production about it?"
Kristy's given answer related to 'the whole truth' needing to be out there, and how, "We are not going to fabricate anything, and if Gypsy’s truth can help save a life, then it’s worth it, and she wants the truth out there".
We're pretty sure 'the whole truth' is exactly what Gypsy wouldn't have wanted to be 'out there'.
What Kristy Blanchard did want, was money.

In 2019, Gypsy released the following statement from prison, “I am unable to watch 'The Act'. However, I feel it is very unfair and unprofessional that producers and co-producer, Michelle Dean, has used my actual name and story without my consent, and the life rights to do so. Therefore, there will be legal action taken against the show’s creators. I want to share my story and bring awareness about Munchausen by proxy, in the hopes that I can encourage those who might be experiencing abuse to speak up, because someone WILL listen. No child should ever be abused especially from their parent.” (Bustle, 19th March, 2019).
Have people lost their minds?
This is Dee Dee Blanchard's story.
Dee Dee's not in a position to claim 'life rights' to any stories told about her, what remains of her is sat on a shelf in a bag inside a shipping box at her sister's house.
Why should the person who planned, orchestrated and took part in her murder be able to gain financially from their heinous actions?
You don't see Nicholas Godejohn demanding payment every time his story is told.
Picture

Gypsy's multiple health issues entitled Dee Dee to claim social security and disability benefits on top of any - if any - money Rod was forced to pay her for child support.
Rod says, "I promised her (Dee Dee) I would always pay her child support along with alimony, and cover all medical expenses and health insurance for Gypsy. I paid Dee Dee until the day she died". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
We think Rod Blanchard should be prevented henceforth from using the word 'promise'.
Where is the evidence to prove the unlikely case of a father paying child support for his 23 year old adult daughter,  as well alimony to his ex wife of almost 25 years?
There is none, unless we are seriously supposed to accept as proof, the scrap of paper shown in the image top right, which could have been written by anybody, at any time, which was included in Gypsy's scraps of paper 2024 'memoir'?
However, evidence does exist which reveals that Dee Dee had to take Rod Blanchard to court for not paying child support.
Or alimony.
Or his sick daughter's medical bills.
And said evidence also reveals that Rod was on his final warning to appear at court facing potential imprisonment if he failed to appear. (Images courtesy of @withoutacrystalball).

Rod claims he paid $1,200 a month child support to Dee Dee.
A close friend of Kristy's claims it was $1,000.
Official court documents shown below prove the actual amount Rod was ordered to pay for child support; $250 per month.
The court records also show that Rod owed Dee Dee $1,300 in back alimony payments and thousands of dollars for Gypsy's medical bills.
And the award for father of the year ... does not go to Rod Blanchard Jnr.

Medicaid were covering the vast majority of Gypsy's medical expenses, and Dee Dee quite rightly expected Rod to cough up for any additional medical expenses Medicaid wouldn't pay.
Rod claims he offered to add Gypsy onto his private health care plan, but said Dee Dee, who we know full well cashed in on anything and everything she could, for some out of character reason, turned down his alleged offer.

Rod would later claim, and we're talking seriously claim, that Dee Dee defrauded him out of thousands of dollars by lying about Gypsy's health conditions, "Dee Dee scammed me personally for at least 150,000 dollars between unnecessary medical expenses and child support that I continued to pay after she turned 18”. (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
Let's hope Rod and Kristy Blanchard managed to recoup some of those 'scammed' dollars back by exploiting and financially benefitting from Dee Dee's brutal murder.
Rod was also taken to court for not paying child support for the second daughter he failed to step up for, Nicolette.
We bet Kristy Blanchard had a thing or two to say about that.

Rod tells Dr Phil, that when he left Dee Dee for the second time, "The relationship just, it did a 180, and we started fighting, well, not fighting, we didn't fight a lot. (Hmm, Freudian slip?) But I mean, she just kind of hounded me down, and taking me back and forth for child support after she (Gypsy) was born and everything. I tried supporting her financially the best I could, which I guess, to her, was still, it's never enough, so she was taking me to court for additional medical bills that she was accumulating, taking me to court with thousands and thousands of dollars of receipts for Gypsy which, you know, the court ordered that I'll be obligated to provide". (The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2019).
And there we have it.
It was a judge in a court of law who determined Rod make those payments, not Dee Dee.
It wasn't a spiteful attempt (Rod) "to get an edge on top of me or, you know, it's some extra money she can get". (The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2019).
It was Dee Dee's way of ensuring Rod provided for the sick child he abandoned.
What would Rod have preferred?
Dee Dee just rolled over and died?
Guess what Rod.
She did.

"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on" (Winston Churchill)

In 2017, Gypsy says she was around 7 years old when she was involved in an accident during a motorcycle ride with her grandfather, Claude Snr., which left her with a skinned knee.
She recalls Dee Dee taking her to the hospital where she was given a wheelchair.
She says Dee Dee told her the wheelchair would be, "Forever". (Mother Knows Best, 2017).

In 2024, Gypsy remembers things slightly differently, "When I was like, 5 years old, I remember getting into a motorcycle accident with him (Claude Snr). And my mum turned it into a bigger event than it actually was. My knee and my leg got scraped. My leg was put in a brace". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Gypsy also recalls, "One day my mother walked into the room and she had a wheelchair with her, and very bluntly told me to use the wheelchair". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
In Gypsy's 2024 fictional memoir. "My Time To Stand' and continue to pulverise my mother, Gypsy reiterates that she was 5 years old when the wheelchair was introduced.
At Nicholas Godejohn's 2018 trial, Gypsy is asked how long she had been in a wheelchair. Gypsy responds, under oath, "
Since probably I was about 8 years old".
Not according to the two 'newly-reformed', post-prison 2024 versions of Gypsy she wasn't. According to these Gypsy's, the wheelchair was introduced 2 years before the motorcycle accident even happened, when she was 5 years old.
That's two different answers to one question about a single event that Gypsy said happened when she was three different ages.
Good Lord.
We'd like to say you couldn't make this tripe up, but s
eemingly Gypsy Rose Blanchard can.

Rod Blanchard says he first saw Gypsy in a wheelchair when she was 7 years old, but knew that Gypsy could still walk, "They came over for a visit, her (Gypsy) and Dee Dee. I would ask her, 'What's wrong with her legs? Is it really that bad? What's the diagnosis'? Dee Dee told me that she's got muscular dystrophy. That her leg muscles are going to eventually quit working. That is terrifying to hear about your child". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
But in another interview a year later, Rod implies he thought Gypsy couldn't walk, "I heard from her family that Gypsy could walk and I was confused (no surprise there), but the relationship was so fragile that, you know, I didn't do my due diligence like I should have". (The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2019).

On 7th August 2024, Rod spoke out on a Tik Tok live, where he was mercilessly confronted by Fancy Macelli of The Good Wives' Network
(Fancy) "When was the last time you had seen your daughter walk?"
(Rod) "Oh, she was probably about, I don't know, 3 or 4 years old".
(Fancy) "So you're telling me from 3 years old you never saw your daughter walk?"
(Rod) "Not that I recall".
How can a father not remember how old their child was when they last saw them walk?
How can they not remember if their child was 3, 4 or 7?
There's a photo of Rod, Dee Dee and Gypsy together (seen below), when Gypsy is about 7 years old.
Gypsy is clearing standing up in the photo.
Without assistance.
Upright.
That might help Rod with his absent father memory.

When Rod was asked why he never sought visitation rights to see Gypsy he replied, "I was busy working. Life, you know". (Source: @ivoryroseknows 7th August 2024).
To all the hard-working father's out there who prioritise seeing their children over work commitments, we salute you.

Bobby Pitre, Dee Dee's nephew and promoter of his (second) tattoo parlour, states, "We all knew (Gypsy could walk). We’d play. We’d all hang out ...  When Dee Dee would see Gypsy she would tell her that her legs are going to give her trouble or whatever. She would tell us that Gypsy’s legs were going to collapse and she had to go soak them in the tub". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
And how old was Gypsy when you last saw her walk, Bob?
First you said 8.
Then you said 7.
Then you said 4.

From what we have learnt about Bobby Pitre, he had been chasing the media spotlight for quite a few years prior to Dee Dee's murder.
He never quite made it.
A bit like 'Sailor Bob', the series about him that never was. (Image on the left)
Following Dee Dee's death, the opportunity Bobby Pitre had been searching for for a very long time came into view.
'Hello. My name's Bobby Pitre, and I was Dee Dee' Blanchard's favourite nephew'.
No.
We won't leave him alone.
(Bobby Pitre)  "I wish that Dee Dee would come back to life right now, so I could kill that b***h as slow as possible". (Crime Online, 27th June, 2017)
(Bobby Pitre) "She (Dee Dee) was pretty f**king crazy. She deserved to die". (Newsweek, 14th February, 2019).

Movement disorders due to muscle stiffness or weakness are symptoms of a chromosome disorder.

A medical record dated 23rd August 2000, suggests that perhaps the motorcycle accident happened when Gypsy was 9 years old >

In some interviews, Rod portrays Dee Dee as a great mother, "She (Dee Dee) was the best mum in the world". (Gypsy's Truth And Lies, 2018).
(Rod) "I told her she was the best mother, 'There's no way I can do what you're doing. You have a sick child. It's constantly 24/7 taking care of her and everything. I always praised her, and told her 'good job' ". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
But in other interviews Rod paints a different picture of Dee Dee, "All the visits, Dee Dee had to be there the whole time. Something never felt right about it. Dee Dee was so controlling". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
Firstly, 'There's no way I can do what you're doing' is not something the mother of a sick child wants to hear from someone who wants to be left to look after said child.
Secondly, there's the little matter of Rod's drug and alcohol abuse issues at that time.
Maybe it was Rod that 'never felt right'.

Kristy Blanchard, who has absolutely nothing to do with this case, also confirms that Dee Dee was a great mother, "We thought, great mom, taking care of Gypsy. I told Rod so many times, 'I don't know how she does it'. Never saw red flags". (The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2019).
On June 16th 2015, a few days after Dee Dee's body was discovered, Kristy introduced herself as Gypsy's grieving stepmother to a Facebook discussion group about the case and tagged a local news station in the post.
Kristy Blanchard had not seen Gypsy for 11 years when she made the post.

In 2017 Gypsy was asked to describe Dee Dee in one word. At first she responded with, (Gypsy, laughing) "Um, unique". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Not, 'abusive'?

Gypsy then changes this to, "A little overprotective". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Still not, 'abusive'?
Gypsy says, "When I was younger it was a lot better, just because she (Dee Dee) was like a best friend to me. We used to do things together all the time, go to the movies, go to the park, the zoo". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
And who was it who provided Gypsy with these happy childhood memories?
The one constant in her life.
Her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.

On the 9th June 1997, Dee Dee’s beloved mother, Emma, passed away at the age of 59.
Dee Dee’s brother, Evans, says, “When my mum passed away, Dee Dee took it hard”. (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Evans sums up Dee Dee's loss as catastrophic, "Her (Dee Dee) world came crumbling down". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Bobby Pitre, surmises, “I think ever since my grandmother died, Dee Dee kind of went off the deep end”. (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
A friend of Dee Dee's, who states that Dee Dee and Emma 'adored each other', says in a Facebook post following Dee Dee's murder that Dee Dee fell, "into a mental collapse after the death of her mom". (June 16th 2005).

Laura Pitre, Claude Snr's second wife, claims that when Emma was sick, Dee Dee left her, “Dirty and asking for food and not want to feed her. That’s evil”. (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Laura describes Emma's treasured little Dee Dee as, “A very filthy person”. (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).

Kristy Blanchard has long held the suspicion that Dee Dee was somehow responsible for Emma's death, a death Dee Dee's brother, Evans, describes as hitting Dee Dee hard, claiming that Dee Dee withheld food from Emma, effectively starving her to death.
In 2024, Kristy is filmed visiting the cemetery where Emma is laid to rest, sedately approaching Emma's grave before ominously revealing, “The day that her (Dee Dee) mum died, Dee Dee was in the house somewhere, and Dee Dee was starving her. Dee Dee wasn’t giving her (Emma) anything to eat. I asked her sister, I was like, ‘I hate to ask you this, but do you think Dee Dee had anything to do with your mum’s death?’ And she said, ‘Now I wonder’. That’s how evil she (Dee Dee) was.” (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Arguably, the word 'evil' best describes Kristy Blanchard receiving an income from visiting Emma's grave in the first place.
Emma clearly worshipped her youngest child.
Whenever drama is present, Kristy Blanchard never seems to be far away.

No medical evidence has ever been presented to support Kristy's claims.
No police reports were ever filed alleging a suspicious death.
Doctors didn't have any concerns.
A coroner didn't have any concerns.
27 years after the fact, Kristy Blanchard 'confesses' she had concerns.
It
is difficult to imagine that Claude Snr or one of Dee Dee's five siblings, who have never suggested Dee Dee killed or starved Emma, would have failed to notice, or act upon, Emma being abused in any way, shape or form.

Claude Pitre Snr, Dee Dee's father, married Laura Mae Serigny, a hospital housekeeper, about a year after Emma's passing.
Let's just say, it had been on the cards for quite a while.
Quite a while.

Bobby Pitre, lays the groundwork for what was to follow, "Dee Dee was very upset about that happening". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Kristy Blanchard, no blood relation to any of the main characters in this case, reinforces the suspense, "Dee Dee had a vengeful side. If she wanted to do something to you, she went for the jugular". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
In Kristy Blanchard's case, we sincerely hope so.

Laura Pitre alleges, “She (Dee Dee) was putting some poison (allegedly the weed killer, Round Up) in my food. The same thing she had put in the plant”. (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Claude Snr supports Laura's accusation, “She (Laura) stayed in bed nine months after that. She couldn’t get up. I didn’t think she was going to make it”. (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Claude Snr claims that it was Gypsy who later told him Dee Dee was putting weed killer in Laura's food, which Dee Dee allegedly told Gypsy were 'vitamins'.
Gypsy, who would have been around 7 or 8 years old when this was happening, says, "She (Dee Dee) hated Laura. It would be in her character to do". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
That is an incredible statement coming from an actual convicted murderer.

According to Bobby Pitre, who is perhaps a coroner, Laura Pitre, who passed away on the 3rd August, 2018, died a slow and painful death, "I guarantee you it had a lot to do with the poisoning from that Round Up". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
A decade after allegedly being poisoned? A very slow death indeed.
Bobby Pitre may also be a fully qualified psychiatrist, as he also offers a full 'no doubt' psychological evaluation of an aunt he hadn't set eyes on for 17 years, describing Dee Dee as a, "Real weird girl. I would think she's bipolar, no doubt. Multiple personalities, perhaps. Definitely an evil person". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
For the record, Bobby Pitre was born in1976.
He was almost 16 years old when Gypsy was born.
He must have spent 4 of his teenage and adult years hanging around Dee Dee and her very young, vulnerable daughter to have formed such strong opinions about them.

Kristy Blanchard would later admit (2025), "Emma and Laura hated each other", further acknowledging that Laura wasn't the nicest of people.
Kristy claimed that Laura, "Stole a picture out of Dee Dee's locker at the hospital (where they both worked)", which she then cut in half, before cutting Dee Dee's face into little pieces and throwing the pieces in a bin.
According to Kristy, Laura then told Dee Dee that Kristy had done it. (Credit:
Sassymissy  Source: Morgan Allena).
And people wonder why Dee Dee would eventually move away from Louisiana.

During a 2024 podcast, Gypsy claims, "My mother suffered from a lot of mental illness. She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. So, um, my mum used to say that she heard voices and saw shapes and things like that". (Nick Viall, 8th January, 2024).
There is no evidence to suggest Dee Dee Blanchard was ever diagnosed with a mental illness.
If there was, we're pretty sure the Blanchard's would have shown it.

As with allegations made regarding Emma's death, no police reports were ever filed to substantiate claims that Dee Dee attempted to murder Laura Pitre.
Surely the doctors who would have been treating Laura Pitre during her 9 months convalescence would have spotted signs of foul play, and traced the presence of weedkiller in her system? Or the coroner following her passing?

That's two people now that Dee Dee Blanchard allegedly tried to kill.
And still Rod and Kristy Blanchard were happy to let Dee Dee raise Rod's child with little involvement in Gypsy's life.
Why?
Because Dee Dee Blanchard never tried to kill anyone.

After a 9 year on again/off again relationship, Rod and Kristy Blanchard tied the knot on the 15th March, 1999.
A source from the Bayou advised us that Dee Dee was Kristy's maid of honour and can be seen in the image on the right, standing to the right of the delighted - though not vengeful - bride, Kristy.
Rod's daughter, Nicolette, also attended the ceremony, as did her mum, Jill.
Jill's new husband, who would later adopt Nicolette, was also there, as was Kristy's son, Dylan.
Another very potentially significant person was there too, on the far left.
We'll just leave that there.
One. Big. Happy. Family.

Not according to Kristy Blanchard they weren't.
According to Kristy Blanchard, Dee Dee didn't attend a service Kristy claims she had tried to prevent from taking place, by claiming that her and Rod were still married.
In a 2024 interview, Kristy says that Dee Dee, "Tried to do everything to ruin our relationship".
In 2025, Kristy claimed that, "I told Father Dean to lock all the doors in the church because if she (Dee Dee) walked in it'd be the first time a bitch got her ass kicked in a church". (Credit:
Sassymissy  Source: Morgan Allena).
Yet there Dee Dee allegedly is, standing right next to the bride.
By invitation only.

Kristy and Rod's daughter, Mia, was born in 2001.

Unlike his first two children, Rod seems to have found the time to play a role in the lives of Kristy's children.

Gypsy claims she was around 9 years old when Laura Pitre threw herself and Dee Dee out of the house they shared with Laura and Claude Snr, after Dee Dee tried to murder Laura, Claude Snr's former mistress, sorry, current wife.
Gypsy proposes this act of eviction, "Gave her (Dee Dee) free range to create new illnesses for me, have me put on more medication, make things worse". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
What a load of old baloney.
In her crappy 'I didn't write this so I am not accountable for anything that's said' 2024, 'memoir' ('My Time To Stand' and Nurse Ratchett it up), Gypsy reports a different 'truth'; she says they were kicked out of the house because Dee Dee's eldest brother and his family felt they had more right to live in Emma's old home than her beloved favourite.
That sounds about green-eyed Pitre right.

Rod says that after leaving town, "They (Dee Dee and Gypsy) moved to Thibodaux which is 45 minutes away. A couple of years later they moved to New Orleans, a couple of hours away. As she (Gypsy) got older, they moved further and further and further away. It got harder and harder to see her (Gypsy). I'd go to their house and visit a couple of hours to hang out, but when Gypsy and I would start building a little closeness, a little bond and everything, it would be 3 or 4 months before we can get back together, rebuild upon that". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
Gypsy was 15 years old when she left Louisiana.
Rod lived in Louisiana.
Every 3 or 4 months?
That says a lot about how badly Rod wanted to see Gypsy.

Rod offers two reasons as to why Dee Dee, 'moved further and further and further away'.
One, to prevent him from connecting with Gypsy, (Rod) "It was like Dee Dee was never letting us build that father-daughter relationship that you're supposed to have with your children".
And two, to hide the abuse she was inflicting on Gypsy. (Rod) "There was nobody there to question that anymore, you know". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
It doesn't sound like there was 'anyone there' to question anything before Dee Dee and Gypsy left, perhaps because there was nothing to question.
How about this?
How about, perhaps Dee Dee moved away from what we suspect to be Kristy's delight in promoting Rod's physical presence in Dylan and Mia's lives, against the backdrop of Rod's lack of involvement in Gypsy's?
How about, perhaps Dee Dee moved away to escape domestic abuse?
In a 2025 TikTok live, Kristy Blanchard stated, "We didn't know that she (Dee Dee) had a police report on Rod in Missouri in fear. And when I read that, that she left Louisiana because she was in fear of her ex husband, I looked at the cop and said, 'I think that should have been my name on there cuz her and I got into it all the time at one point'.  (Credit: Sassymissy    Source: Morgan Allena).
Wow.
Thanks for letting that slip Kristy.
We never knew  Dee Dee filed a police report against Rod.

We didn't know for sure that you and Dee Dee got into it a 'lot'.
That explains so much.

Rod also claims that Dee Dee tried to turn Gypsy against him, using as an example the trip he made with Gypsy to McDonalds, "She (Gypsy) was so scared of me, she was shaking. I don't know what Dee Dee told her about me". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
In the few photos there are of Rod and Gypsy together, Gypsy doesn't look scared and she sure as hell isn't 'shaking', although she would understandably have had good reason to be somewhat afraid when she saw Rod with his beaten up looking face in the image on the right.

According to Rod, "I did the best I could. Birthdays, holidays, but it was always hard the first five years ..."
Hard in what way? Dee Dee and Gypsy virtually lived right around the corner.
"They lived here locally, not far, so
we did some visits .."
We?
"It wasn't until she was, you know after 5, 6 years old, they started moving further and further away and the visits became more scarce .."
Dee Dee and Gypsy didn't move away from the immediate area until Gypsy was 9 years old.
"We always stayed in communication, you know, phone calls and everything, that with the physical visits. The further Dee Dee moved away the less we got to spend with her". ('The Killer Thorn Of Gypsy Rose, 2019).
That'll be the royal 'we'.
Rod was Gypsy's absent parent, there is no 'we' in that.

Rod's lack of contact with Gypsy beyond the age of 9, and his physical absence in her life from 2004 until Dee Dee's murder in 2015, seems to have less to do with Dee Dee determining when Rod could and could not see Gypsy, and more to do with Rod, married in 1999, not being prepared, or allowed, to put in the hours or the legwork to see his child.
Gypsy was 23 years old and arrested by the time Kristy Blanchard, sorry, Rod Blanchard, started investing time in building a relationship with her, and she, sorry, he, did so under the glare of the media spotlight and paid interviews.
Is that what it took?

We found some interesting reports from neighbours who witnessed Rod and Kristy 'emptying' Dee Dee's home after her death.
It would appear that whilst Claudia and Dorla approved of Rod 'clearing' the house, things obviously didn't go quite as they had hoped.
It almost sounds like Dee Dee's sisters were double crossed.
One of Dee Dee's sister's close friends reported that following Dee Dee's death, "Rod and Kristy actually came with the U-Haul and got what they wanted out of there for 'Gypsy'. Claudia (Dee Dee's sister) got a 'moo moo' (a daytime lounger/nightgown) and a picture of Dee Dee's, that's it". (Source: @ivoryroseknows 8th August, 2024).
According to Kristy Blanchard, all she took from the house were a few of Gypsy's things and stuff that her and Rod had bought for Gypsy.
Not a lot then, so why the need for a U-Haul trailer?
They weren't taking Dee Dee's things too were they?
Or removing evidence?

Like vultures picking at the bones.
All of them.

(Excerpt Below) In December 2024, Gypsy inexplicably changed her story as to when she was kicked out of - no longer Claude Snr's house, but Dee Dee's brother, Claude's house, and how old she was when it happened. She was no longer 9, she was 5. (Source: 'My Time To Stand' and carve a career out of killing my mother over and over and over again).

In a letter presented to the court at one of Gypsy's pre trial hearings, Dee Dee’s sister, Dorla, admits that she always knew Gypsy was able to walk, but even in this, we still find differing accounts. (Source: The Good Wives' Network).
Dorla describes an occasion when Gypsy had been left in the care of the family whilst Dee Dee left for a short period to visit the local store. Dorla claims that as soon as Dee Dee was out of sight, Gypsy immediately stepped out of her wheelchair and started jumping around on a trampoline.
According to Dorla, when Gypsy spotted Dee Dee returning, she fell down like a, 'ragdoll'.
Dorla says that when Dee Dee returned and saw Gypsy on the trampoline, she yelled at her, pulled her off the trampoline and got in her car with Gypsy and left before, “we could ask her any questions''. '
'Ask any questions' is a massively overused sentiment in this case.
Dee Dee's brother, Evans, also recalls this incident but adds that Dee Dee responded to seeing Gypsy on the trampoline by asking, "Don't you know she's crippled?" Evans says he responded, "We all seen different".  (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Evans recollection is that Dee Dee then put Gypsy in the wheelchair and rolled her into the house, leaving her there for the rest of the day. (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
'We all seen different' could just as easily apply to Evans witnessing Gypsy rolled into the house whilst Dorla sees Gypsy taken away in a car.
Can no two people ever come up with the same story for the same event?

In the court document, Dorla also recalled that she and her sister, Claudia, were on vacation when Dee Dee and Gypsy, again aged about 9 years old, made a surprise visit to see them. Dorla says they all went for a stroll along the beach, with Gypsy being carried piggyback style by Claudia because Dee Dee had told them Gypsy had no feeling in her legs.
On returning to the hotel room, Dorla says Dee Dee popped out to get Gypsy some fresh clothes, and once she left, Gypsy started jumping around from bed to bed, immediately stopping on Dee Dee’s return.
Again, no questions were asked.
Like you wouldn't have any questions, right?

We'd like to ask a question though.
On the 3rd May 2024 Gypsy, who makes no reference to it being the day of her mother's birthday, is interviewed on a beach attesting to never, ever, ever - like, in her entire life - having visited a beach before.
Gypsy's sisters would dare to differ.
The next to last photo below also shows Gypsy not visiting a beach on a different occasion.
That'll be two beaches Gypsy didn't visit.
Wait.
There's another one.
That beach Dee Dee's friend didn't take Gypsy to.
The one where Gypsy didn't make sand angels.
(in 2024, Gypsy would also claim she had never been on a swing; you will see a few photos of Gypsy as a child on our website .. on a swing).

Laura Pitre claims Dee Dee was quite literally chased out of town, “The minute she’d have set foot on the Bayou, the law would have arrested her. She had made bad cheques in Slidell. Bad cheques in New Orleans”. (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Dee Dee's father, Claude Snr, adds, “No matter where she (Dee Dee) went, she was doing all kinds of stuff”. (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).

Some of Dee Dee's family share similar stories, promoting the idea of 'The Outlaw Dee Dee Blanchard'.
Dorla says, “Dee Dee wasn’t a stranger to the law. She'd shoplift. She was wanted for writing bad cheques. She stole from many a people. She would get so many credit cards and then eat my dead mother’s name and run up the bills like crazy. She was going to do anything, anyway, anyhow to get her way”. (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
Or to financially support herself and her child seeing as the dad was M.I.A?
Evans, reports, "She had maxed out 2 of my mum's credit cards after my mum had been dead for over a year". (Gypsy's Revenge, 2018).
And of course Bobby Pitre has a story to sell, sorry, tell, "She (Dee Dee) opened up credit cards in my dad's name, my grandpa's name. Ran up crazy bills. Supposedly, America's Most Wanted was looking for this girl". (Mommy Dead And Dearest, 2017).
Can nobody reign this ridiculous 'nephew' in?
And lest we forget, Kristy Blanchard, "There was an active warrant out for her (Dee Dee) arrest in Lafourche Parish for writing bad cheques". (The Prison Confessions, 2024).
Weren't 17 stab wounds enough for you guys?

Whilst not condoning Dee Dee's offence, we would just like it noted that we consider aggravated burglary and carrying an unlicensed firearm to be more serious offences in comparison.
Not naming names of course. Bob.
Just saying.

Kristy Blanchard always seems to have a take on everything Dee Dee ever did at any given time in her entire life.
Hopefully one day Kristy will share with us why Rod thought he was going to being hauled off to a juvenile detention centre when he was still at high school.
Better still, she might share with us what Rod's drugs of choice were, to help us better understand what exactly Dee Dee may have been fleeing.
Are we talking marijuana or acid, or are we talking crack or heroin?
A friend of Dee Dee's sister, Claudia, recently made a statement during a social media live, "According to Claudia, Dee Dee did not start conning and scamming until she met Rod". (Source: @ivoryroseknows 8th August, 2024).
The friend also claimed Rod Blanchard's father was a thief who had been arrested for burglary and robbery.
We have seen Rod's father's criminal record. He was quite the character.
This is what happens when you place a halo on your head at the expense of planting a crown of thorns on another's.
The truth outs, the halo slips and people get mad.

If ever a picture painted a thousand words, it applies to the family photo on the right of Dee Dee, Gypsy and Rod together.
That's not your standard picture of a separated couple, unless it's perfectly normal for an ex partner to gently caress the ear of her ex partner, and for him to look very comfortable with her doing it.
If you didn't know any better, you could be forgiven for thinking it's a picture of a committed, loving, young family.
In 2024, Gypsy indirectly (but directly), addresses online speculation about this photo in the first of two pile of s**t books written about her with her consent, co-authored by Melissa Moore, or, as Ms. Moore likes to be known, the daughter of the, 'Happy Face Killer".
Out of the hundreds of Dee Dee's photos that were snatched up by Rod and Kristy Blanchard following Dee Dee's death, this was one of only a few photos Gypsy chose to be included in the book/pamphlet, "Conversations On The Eve Of Freedom". (Or, to be exact, prison phone calls. Or, to be even more exact, weekly prison phone calls made over a 5 year period).
We would call that 'choice', damage limitation.
Gypsy suggests that Kristy took this photo.
Coming from a known liar, that only added fuel to the fire.
Potential lie aside,
Dee Dee was very attractive in her younger years.

Maybe Rod gave their relationship another go.
And another.
And another.
And another.

Gypsy reveals in her 2024 selective memory/web of lies 2024 memoir ('My Time To Stand', but still not tell the truth) that 'couldn't seem to keep it in his pants' Rod, told her he only slept with Dee Dee 3 times.
Please.
We've seen photos of Dee Dee when she was young.
She was a cracker.
We can't see Rod Blanchard advising, "Not tonight Josephine".
Gypsy also states that Dee Dee and Rod divorced in 1992.
According to official court documents, they divorced in 1994.
